I Miss You

Ichigo x Rukia

Rukia was sleeping soundly in Ichigo's closet when she could hear the voices.

"We're home!" Yuzu, Ichigo's sister shouted as she came in.

"Finally." Karin had stayed home to clean the kitchen. Yuzu is terrible at cleaning the kitchen apparently.

Ichigo had gone with his sister to get the right ingredients. He didn't know she was there. She normally told him but after everything with Orihime and her being rescued...they sort of drifted a little.

Her and Renji seemed closer, but she didn't feel right with him.

When she doesn't feel right she comes here to reflect on her life. And also take a peaceful nap.

It's not easy being a captain and all. She doesn't know how her brother does it.

"Let's eat!" Ichigo's father barges in. Rukia could hear the talking and laughter coming from downstairs. Even Kon was talking his stuffed lion head off with the two girls.

Ichigo remained quiet as usual.

Once dinner was done, everyone cleaned up and headed upstairs to their beds.

The girls had long baths and giggled about boys at their school.

Which poor Ichigo groaned at. Their father was fast asleep in seconds after dinner and snored like an elephant.

Ichigo stuffed blankets and pillows under the door to block it all out.

Finally, Kon was in and Ichigo finished his own shower.

"Do you ever miss your friends?" Kon asks.

Ichigo didn't respond.

"You miss Renji? Rukia?"

"Kon. I don't want to talk about this. AGAIN." He raised his voice.

"You miss her that much huh. Orihime is in America, Uriu is traveling Europe, and Chad is...where is he again?"

"He's in London for the week. He'll be back when he wins his championship." Ichigo says.

Rukia had no idea that Ichigo was alone.

"The job keeps me busy. Besides, I'm glad I'm no longer being called on as a sub-soul reaper." He said.

"You DO miss Rukia then." Kon said.

Ichigo growled and slammed Kon against the closet door.

Rukia jumped but didn't make a sound. She didn't want to be seen here.

Ichigo then sighed. "I miss the adventures. I miss fighting the hollows. I do miss arguing with the captains. Renji is just a bonus." Ichigo said.

Kon grunted getting up. "And Rukia?"

Ichigo sighed again.

"I get she was your best friend and all that. But you can try to contact her can't you?"

"Kon. I've lost everything there. Not my memories, but I can't go back there." He said.

Ichigo might not admit it, but he does miss Rukia a lot. She knew that. He's his way of NOT saying it that speaks loud and clear.

Soon the lights when out and it was all quiet. Rukia slowly came out of her hiding place and stood over Ichigo sleeping in his bed.

He looked like an angel. Or half hollow with his personality. Rukia missed the adventures as well. She doesn't get out much anymore.

"Rukia." Ichigo mumbled.

Rukia normally doesn't get caught off guard or blushes, but she did this time. He really did miss her. He cares for her. And she does for him too.

The two were very much alike in more ways then one. Or hundred of them.

"I miss you too, Ichigo." She whispered and lightly kissed his forehead. She then left through the window. Feeling tears in her eyes.

Ichigo grinned a little in his sleep. "Miss you. See you next time." Nothing get's past this reaper. Sup or not. He's the best one the soul society ever had. And the best friend Rukia ever had too.
