summary: perhaps the most interesting part of it all was that he alone was the cause of the world falling apart

word count: 380

"You never cease to amaze me," an old Glen Baskerville amused, resting his chin on his closed fist, violet eyes swirling as they stared at Levi. "The world is falling apart, and you singlehandedly managed to be the cause of that, Levi."

Levi, comfortably laid back with his arms propping his head, looked at the gradually fading sky until it turned into a spiraling pit of pitch darkness. From there, he closed his eyes and laughed.

"The way you phrase it almost makes it seem as though I've done something terrible."

The old Glen chuckled along. He was feet away from the other, marveling at the man who he had always delighted in spectating every now and then. Out of all the Glen Baskervilles', Levi was by far his favorite.

"I suppose it wouldn't be the worst thing to befall mankind, right?"

"If we're being honest, I may have even performed a favor for them."

"So tell me," he smiled, keeping his eyes trained on Levi. "Do you regret what you've done?"

Levi opened his eyes to the sky and stared for what felt like an eternity. Tiny stars swam in his vision the longer he stared and the soft smile that had remained on his features dimmed slightly. He finally blinked, then shrugged.

"Regret? Regret is making white tea when you really want black tea." He paused. "Well, maybe only a little."

"And why's that?"

"I couldn't tell you." He grinned.

The old Glen Baskerville laughed heartily and joined his friend on the floor, lying down while watching the black abyss. "You really are strange, Levi. But that's what makes you interesting."

Levi closed his eyes to that. The world was falling apart and he had singlehandedly managed to be the cause of that.

At the thought, his grin only grew.
