MAYANS IN SLOW MOTION
The Second Season has been relentless, but now, things are slowing down. Please comment slowly . . . I mean nicely!
"All right," Bishop said. "We've got to get moving. Slowly. First, two or three guys get your bikes and slowly ride to the hospital. See if our man's okay. Make sure he's safe in Intensive Care."
"Oh man!" said a Mayan. "You mean like we might have to fight off some other bikers? Maybe a fight with scalpels, out in the alley, or maybe we pull out guns in the operating room?"
"No," Bishop said. "Just sit there and watch his vital signs, man. And look sad. This whole episode we're all looking very sad!"
Ten minutes went by, but nothing happened at the hospital.
Meanwhile, at the Galindo mansion, lovely blonde Emily was staring blankly into space and doing nothing as usual. Suddenly her mother in law entered the room, her face blank as always.
"Let's . . . go . . . to . . . a spa," the Mexican woman said, her face empty and her words a drone of meaningless dullness.
"What if we get ambushed?" Emily asked hopefully. "What if another Cartel tries to waste us? Could I get in a fight? Could I mess up my hair? What if something happens that's really violent and unexpected?"
Slowly, her mother in law shook her head. "Nothing ever happens, and that's what happened last week too."
Instead of going to the spa, Emily and her mother in law snuck over to visit Ezekiel's family. This is something they did again and again. And again. And nothing happened.
"Let's sit around the table," Angel suggested. "Let's stare at each other for five minutes. Something might happen, man!"
"Maybe if Easy and me had a love scene," Emily suggested hopefully. "A really hot love scene, right on the kitchen table. And then the bikes could come roaring down the road, only my husband has joined the Mayans and he's riding up in front. And then . . ."
"Can't do it," Easy said. "I'm about to have . . . a flashback."
"Not a flashback!" shouted Emily, Angel, and old man Reyes.
Easy had the same flashback as always, full of masked Mexicans wearing costumes and ducking in and out of the shadows. There was no meaning to what he saw and when he came back to the present, everyone was just sitting there looking at him.
And nothing happened.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, a Mayan in Intensive Care suddenly died . . . of boredom.
