During the Johnson, Derkins, Garrison and Gunderson's vacation trip, a lone cruise boat sailed right across the deep blue ocean, and on this cruise boat, began the story sequence.
"Calvin, get down from there!" shouted Eric to his 6 year old son, who was lying right across the bowsprit, showing off to his best friend for life and 1 true love, Susie Derkins.
Unimpressed by Calvin's behavior, Eric snapped at him 'til he did what he was told what to do.
"Calvin Henry Johnson, stop that annoying behavior this instant, you're only doing that to annoy Susie." Eric snapped at him.
Susie only scoffed and rolled her eyes.
"Oh please, like I would be so impressed by Calvin!" Susie said to herself in a taunting voice.
Calvin stuck his tongue out at Susie, and she did it back, and the 2 of them began fighting against 1 another, but Eric got right in the middle of it.
"Now stop that, you 2, you're both 6 years old, so begin acting like it." Eric scolded both of them.
Calvin and Susie stopped the fighting, but they continued staring at 1 another with angry stares.
"Say you're terribly sorry, Calvin." Eric ordered.
"Why do I need to say the word sorry? she started it." Calvin said to him.
"Did not!" exclaimed Susie.
"Did too!" snapped Calvin.
"Did not!" protested Susie.
"Did too!" exclaimed Calvin.
Eric groaned in exasperation. Janet noticed Susie arguing with Calvin, and decided to help him out with the bickering Johnson boy and Derkins girl.
"What's going on around here, Eric?" she asked him.
"Oh, Janet, it's just Calvin and Susie shouting arguing again, I'm just trying to get them to apologize to 1 another, but they're not cooperating." Eric answered her with a heavy sigh.
"Well maybe I can help you out, since Susie's my daughter." Janet said to him.
Both of them faced the squabbling Johnson boy and Derkins girl and finally managed to speak up.
"Calvin, Susie, if you 2 don't stop shouting and arguing, you're both gonna be grounded for another week!" Eric exclaimed to them in frustration.
That was all it took to stop Calvin and Susie from shouting and arguing, and Eric was feeling proud of himself for being stern with his stubborn son and his best friend for life and 1 true love.
"Say you're terribly sorry, Calvin." Eric said to him while giving Calvin a 'do-it-or-you-are-grounded-for-another-week' look on his face.
Calvin scowled and looked right at Susie grumpily.
"Sorry 'bout that." he muttered to Susie.
"Susie, you apologize too, young lady." Janet ordered her, also giving Susie the look.
Susie sighed grouchily.
"Sorry 'bout that." she also muttered to Calvin.
Both Eric and Janet gave satisfied smiling faces.
"Good, you're both free to go right now." Eric said to them.
Calvin gave a loud 'hmmph!' and walked away, and Susie did the exact same, muttering something under her breath.
Eric and Janet both gave an exasperated sigh, and walked away. They spotted Toby on the deck, sharing and nibbling on pretzel sticks and carrot sticks with his best friend for life and 1 true love, Candace. They also spotted Felix playing go fish with Francesca and Jason doing picture drawings with Daisy and Ethan and Katie reading poetry. Both of them smiled at the beautiful minute between them.
'If only Calvin and Susie were this nice to 1 another'/they both thought at the exact same time.
