CRASH!

Yeul and Noel shot up in their bed, taken by complete surprise and thrown from their deep slumber.

"The hell!?" shouted Noel as he got out of bed and walked over to the balcony and peered outside. "damn, there's a storm brewing outside!"

The wind outside was blowing fiercely in seemingly every direction, lightning flashed and thunder crashed. That was the sound both of them had heard before.

Yeul's heart was beating well over a hundred miles per hour and she tried to calm down when another loud bang of thunder scared her out of her wits. She screamed before she threw the thick blanket over her head and curled up into a ball out of pure fear.

Noel didn't blame her. He hadn't expected the weather to turn sour like this and it gave him a fright to be sure. He made sure the door was locked and drew back the curtains to keep the constant flashing to a minimum. The door shook with the wind but it would hold. Yeul on the other hand was still under the blanket with no signs that she was coming out.

So Noel used the opportunity to use the restroom, and after a splash of hot water on his face he felt a bit sleepy. He came back out to find that Yeul was still under the blanket.

Her voice was muffled by being under there, "That scared me..."

"You're telling me..." Noel was now wide awake and with the new addition of the storm outside he had no intention of going to sleep anytime soon. He went and climbed back into the bed and closed his eyes, though sleep was not going to happen he tried even with the futility of the situation.

Eventually Yeul moved the blanket back to show her face. Noel turned and saw her looking at him, and though she was scared to death Noel couldn't help but think how adorable she looked. He smiled.

Too bad his humor was not reciprocated. Yeul pouted, "Not funny Noel."

Now the rain started to hit the resort and it came down harder than the two had ever thought possible. It dissipated or grew depending on which direction the wind blew and that was more often than not in the direction of their room. The lightning flashing made a greenish light whenever it entered the room.

Still very much frightened by the thunder Yeul scooted in closer to Noel and held onto him for dear life while resting her head on his shoulder.

Sighing lightly Noel stared up at the ceiling before he looked over at the large grandfather clock on the far side of the room. It was only just past midnight. If the storm didn't let up soon, there was no way he was gonna get a good night's sleep. Yeul either for that matter. "We might have to stay up all night if this keeps up."

He felt her breathing against his skin, "That idea sucks."

Noel chuckled, "Might not have a choice in the matter, sweetheart."

Sitting up with the blanket around her shoulders Yeul peered over to the balcony door, still shaking from the wind. "Will that hold?"

Tilting his head slightly Noel replied that it would. "If it doesn't then I'll call management and they'll fix it."

Sighing Yeul seemed ready to speak again when the brightest flash yet came through every crack in the building followed by the loudest crash of thunder she had ever heard happened right over her head. "AHHH!"

Her scream went right into Noel's ear before she threw herself right on top of him with the blanket covering her. Now Noel and Yeul locked eyes and while the scene could have been seen as comedic there was a difference. For Yeul it was that she felt like she had a new layer of protection against the storm and she felt safer with Noel being there with her. For the young man it was to know she wasn't going anywhere for now.

Noel's ear was still ringing. "...that hurt."

Yeul smiled weakly, knowing she screwed up, "Sorry, heat of the moment and what not..."

Shaking his head Noel allowed her reason to work and he forgave her. Still the air between them in the tent was growing hot. He pulled the cover down to where it rested on their shoulders but he continued to hold onto Yeul. If he could make her feel safe then that was the least he could do in the situation.

He sat up, taking Yeul with him and somehow managed to reach over to turn on the bedside lamp. If he was going to be up for a while he needed a light. other than the lightning that is. Yet when he pulled on the string nothing happened. The electricity was out.

"Just great..." said the hunter. He sighed in irritation. There couldn't even call down to the front desk because of the loss of power. They were truly in the dark now. "But at least we got each other, right?"

Yeul nodded feverishly. She knew his words were out to cheer her up as much as he could with the storm overhead.

The young woman on the other hand was still scared even as she wrapped her arms around her lover's midsection. Being in the dark was nothing new to her for she had lived with ever growing darkness. It was the thought being alone in the dark that scared her more than a storm did. She held him tighter because of that thought.

From where he sat Noel could feel her heart beating like crazy and it hurt him to see her like this. "I'm here, Yeul...don't be afraid."

Resting against his chest the woman held onto him tightly, "...I wish I could but...it's difficult."

Not knowing what else to say Noel could only put his arms around her shoulders, serving as further protection against the elements that wished to harm her.
