Chapter 3
"2B, come over here." Naruto called, and waved his hand to a female android who wore a black dress and had short white hair with a black headband on the top of her head. Rias looked at the android curiously as she walked toward them with a grace that surpassed even the ones that had been turned into devils and trained to serve their masters in combat. If Rias had not seen any of them in action, then she would have thought 2B had the grace of a supermodel on the catwalk.
She remembered this android, being the first one that she saw when she first walked into his workshop.
"Master Naruto." The android lowered her head and said in an almost cold, emotionless tone as if she was devoid of emotion, which was not normal at all because YoRHa androids were known for their personalities and the abilities to show emotions that matched even their human masters. It could be that 2B wasn't meant to be emotional.
"Rias, meet 2B. 2B this is Rias Gremory, the she-devil everyone else has been talking about." Naruto introduced them, and Rias waved a hand to the female android that looked at her almost blankly with her beautiful blue eyes, but then lowered her head a bit to greet her. "2B is a new type of android that I am currently working on at the moment. She's the first of her model."
"Oh, is that so? It's a pleasure to meet you, 2B-san." Rias smiled at the android. She had learnt that Naruto preferred to call his new androids by their brands and codes until the moment that they were able to choose a name for themselves, like White, his android assistant. It had come as a pleasant surprise for Rias, because it seemed that the Creator himself viewed his androids so much more than mere creations. "So what does she do basically, Naruto-san?"
"Basically she's a combat model android." Rias nodded her head in understanding. The combat model was the most popular androids for the high-class devils that had received their Evil Pieces set. Almost every model of YoRHa androids could fight as well as a mid-class devil in term of pure hand to hand if they were installed with a combat program, and if needed to, even an entertainment type android would act to protect their masters in the faces of dangers… so more or less, they all could fight to a degree, but the combat model androids excelled in this category since they were designed to adapt to their current combat situations, capable of even learning new techniques in the middle of a battle, scanning their enemies' style to have a better chance at beating them, and improvising to make sure that they would fulfil their tasks. Because of their capabilities, normal human civilians weren't allowed to own them, leaving them to be normally used in militaries, or security details.
"Now Rias, what I want you to help me today is simple." He told her, making Rias smile as she listened to what she had to do. The past few days she had been having some of the most interesting devil jobs ever, like helping his assistant White with the paperwork that was sent over by his representatives at Maelstrom Automata or hanging out with the android twin Popola and Devola, both of these jobs allowed her to learn more about three of the most unique YoRHa androids in the world. Her most favourite one, however, was playing chest with 6O and some other new 'Scanner' model androids to test their calculating and problems solving abilities, as it also allowed her to improve in strategy, an important factor in Rating Game. "I want you to help me design a simulation program to test 2B's combat capabilities."
"I see, so what do you want me to do, Naruto-san?" Rias nodded her head and asked as she and 2B followed Naruto to an area in a corner of his workshop, where he built MACHINE robots for various purposes. Unlike the YoRHa androids, these robots had a rather basic design, with most of them having a cylindrical body, small arms and legs that could perform the basic actions, as well as normal round heads.
The MACHINE was rumoured to be the predecessor of the YoRHa androids and based on the first robotic lifeform that Naruto invented Rias believed it was the truth. However, unlike their successors, the MACHINEs could only perform normal chores and lacked both of the things that made the YoRHa androids unique, feelings and emotions, making them less popular and less profited.
"We will first run some tests and then, I will build some robots so she can practice for real. How much do you know about fighting, Rias?" Naruto asked as he walked around a hologram device and turned it on "Do you play those old school fighting video games, like Tekken?"
"Yes, I do Naruto-san." Rias answered with a smile before she continued as Naruto designed a simulation of 2B and twelve MACHINE robots "However, in case you want to know, I have gotten into actual combat situations before."
"That's a surprise. No offence dear, but you look more like a princess than someone who can hold herself in a fight." Naruto said with a chuckle, and Rias smiled nonetheless.
"I'm tougher than I look, Naruto-san." She said and raised her hand with her palm facing the ceiling, before letting the demonic power that she inherited from her mother, the Power of Destruction, form in the palm of her hand, making Naruto and 2B look at it in interest "The point is, there are other forms of devil jobs, and beside contracting like the one that we shared, there is also military works as well. It usually requires us to hunt down stray devils, those that have diverted from their masters for their own selfish desires. Without their masters to keep their powers in check, most of them usually become dangerous threats if their powers go beyond their controls, so it's our job to hunt them down and eliminate them before they could cause harm to anyone of us, or the humans living in our territories."
"I see. You learn something new every day huh, even for someone like me." Naruto smiled and then made a gesture with his hand toward the hologram of 2B fighting against the robots with a katana "So what do you think of this?"
Rias looked at it for a second, before an idea came to her mind. It was an idea that his assistant White would definitely dislike, but all that matter would be Naruto's final decision. Still, she didn't know if he would like it, but in the end… it's difficult for her to tell what he was thinking. He's almost impossible to read sometimes.
"Actually, Naruto-san, I have a different idea. 2B is a sword-wielder and close-range fighter, correct?" She asked, looking at the hologram of 2B striking down a robot with her katana. One look and Rias had to admit that the short-haired androids wielded her blade with power, grace and precision that she had never seen from any other combat androids, even the ones that had participated in the highest level of Rating Game "I have a servant that fights like her. His name is Kiba Yuuto and he's the disciple of my brother's servant, who's said to be one of the best swordsmen of us Devils. If you want, I can bring him here and let him test 2B's swordsmanship as well as combat capabilities in a mock battle." She then added, knowing how much Naruto wanted to keep a low profile and avoid unnecessary interactions with the outside world. She did not doubt Kiba's ability to keep a secret for her, but if the idea made Naruto uncomfortable then she would not hesitate to turn it down "Of course, you don't have to if you don't want to."
"No no, that actually doesn't sound like a bad idea at all." Naruto shook his head and said with a smirk, before he turned his attention to 2B "So what do you think 2B? Would you like to test your skill out against a devil?"
"Yes, master. I'd love to." 2B answered with a nod of her head and Rias could hear the anticipation in her tone. With that, Rias left to the living room to use the transportation magic circle had set up there to return to her home, leaving Naruto and 2B behind to wait while discussing her weapon of choice. However, the two of them did not have to wait long, as five minutes later Rias came back with a handsome young man at her side. He had short blond hair, blue eyes and a mole underneath his left eye. From what Naruto could tell, he was wearing the Kuoh Academy, which Rias had told him she went to, school uniform for the male students. It consisted of a black blazer with white accents over a white, long-sleeved dress shirt with a black ribbon on the collar, matching black pants and brown dress shoes.
"Naruto-san, 2B, this is Yuuto Kiba." She introduced them "Yuuto, this is Naruto Uzumaki."
"It's an honour to meet you, sir." Kiba said with a hint of respect in his tone as he offered the Creator his hand with his head lowering.
"Pleasure to meet you Kiba, and please don't call me sir." Naruto let out a chuckle as he accepted his hand and shook it "It makes me feel old you know."
"Will do, Naruto-san." Kiba smiled, before he turned to look at 2B "You must be 2B-san, nice to meet you." Rias watched as the two shook hands with each other and noticed the white katana with dark hilt 2B was holding in her other hand, recognizing it as one of the standard-issue weapons for the combat androids.
A moment later, 2B and Kiba stood facing each other in the backyard of the mansion, with Naruto and Rias standing on the sideline watching in interest.
"Okay, let's do it Kiba." Rias called, crossing her arms under her ample bust. This was a friendly spar, but she was confident that her servant would hold his ground and win.
Nodding his head, Kiba then created a katana in his hand, making the creator himself wolf-whistle in amazement before Rias then proceed to explain to him the power of his Sacred Gear Sword Birth, and took a standard stance with his sword forward. The knight of Rias Gremory had sparred against YoRHa android before, so he was aware that underestimating a combat type like 2B could easily be his downfall, and even while 2B had not moved, she gave no opening or whatsoever, making it rather difficult for Kiba to think of the best way to make the first strike.
"Okay 2B, go easy on him." Naruto said with a smirk, making Rias turn her head to look at him in surprise, but not missing out the surprising speed that 2B used to close in on Kiba and attacked him, pushing the knight back with a sword clash. She then put her left foot down, and spun around to perform a horizontal slash with her sword, forcing Kiba to raise his own to block.
Before he could react, however, 2B let go of her sword and continued to twirl around to grab it with her other hand, using the momentum to increase the force of her strike. If Kiba had been a human swordsman, he would have been knocked off his feet, but even when with the strength and reflex of a knight reincarnated devil it was still difficult for him to keep up with 2B's fast and extremely precise attacks.
"W-wow..." Rias muttered in amazement as she watched 2B continuing her assault on Kiba, who was now forced to take a defensive stance. It was as if she was watching a dancer, not a sword-wielding android.
"She is self-evolving." Naruto said with a nod of his head, checking 2B's neural interface using a handheld, mobile hologram device that he had designed himself "2B is fighting at 120% of her maximum capabilities, even better than the simulations I have run."
"Those techniques... Where did she learn them?" Rias couldn't help but ask. She was no master, but the crimson-haired heiress of the Gremory Clan had grown up having Souji Okita, Kiba's swordmaster, as one of her caretakers so she still knew a few things about swordsmanship.
"I let her watch a couple of anime. Where else could she learn those fancy moves?" Naruto chuckled and Rias had to admit that she almost believed him, but she decided to not press on.
As 2B continued on with her assault, the YoRHa android then took a leap into the air and threw her sword down with such force that when Kiba rolled to the side to avoid it, more than half of her sword was impaled into the ground. Seeing that it was his chance to strike, Kiba took a leap toward her and slashed with his sword, but to his and Rias' shock, 2B then put her hand on the flat edge of his sword and used it to flip around in the air. For a brief second, it looked like she was split into three blurring images of herself dodging and then emerged less than a millisecond later on the knight's left, rolling down to the ground to grab her sword and yank it up to turn around and slash her sword down at Kiba, who was unable to react in time and was left with a cut on his blazer.
"What in my brother's name was that?"
Rias couldn't help but ask, but Naruto merely smirked in response.
"She's the first one of her type, remember?" with that said, he then turned his attention to his android and called loudly before she could continue "Okay 2B, I think that's enough testing for today. You are already at 170% of yourself, and that sword will break if you continue." At that moment, the two devils and 2B herself finally noticed a small, yet almost unnoticeable crack on her sword. That's clearly not something a normal human could see from a distance.
"Yes, I understand, master." 2B said with a nod of her head before she turned to look at Kiba, who made his sword fade away as he turned around to face her "Thank you for the spar, Kiba Yuuto."
"You're welcome, 2B-san." Kiba replied with a kind smile, though it's hard for him to call it a spar when he was the one being beaten around for the majority of it.
After that, the four of them retreated back to the mansion, with Rias continuing to help Naruto out around his workshop as Kiba attended to Devola and Popola, who seemed to have taken a liking to his gentleman attitude. Naruto had taken notice of that so he asked Kiba to stay and contract him with the job of doing whatever the two wanted him to do. From what Rias had told him later, it seemed Kiba was rather famous among the young human ladies, and his most common devil job was serving and treating them as if they were princesses, so it's not surprising to see that he knew exactly what he had to do.
Break
"2B, come here, I have something for you." Naruto called as he removed himself from his working station while stretching his arms above his head. It was nine in the evening, and he had been working alone for a few hours now as Rias and Kiba had left to return to their home soon after their shifts had ended.
"Yes, master?" 2B asked as she walked toward her creator for the second time that day, looking at the object in his hand. It was a katana similar to the one that she had used earlier that day but with a different design, similar to the swords of the Japanese samurais of old, and the hilt was white in colour, like the blade.
"Try this out." Naruto said as he handed 2B the new sword, and the android took it in her hands, twirling it around in her hand to test its weight as well as balance. "So, do you like it?" Naruto asked, as he picked up an empty bottle of water on his table and tossed it in the air.
"Yes, master." 2B answered as she slashed the bottle, severing it in two so quick and clean that its trajectory was not altered even while falling back down.
"Then it's yours." Naruto nodded and said with a smile "I will add some functions to it later, but for now, get familiar with it. I have a feeling that you will need to use it a lot in the near future."
"I understand." 2B nodded and lowered her sword down before asking "Would you like to train with me again, master?"
"Ah sorry dear, as much as I want to teach you some new moves, I gotta some works to do... company business." With a wink, Naruto left his workshop and went to find his android assistant, leaving 2B behind in there to continue training with her new weapon.
