It is a calm and peaceful morning on the Achilles. The waves crashing agents her hull as we made our way to the Philippines to take it back from the Japs. The sun was sinning and there were vary few clouds it remind me of home in Texas, but unlike most Texans I don't have that slow southern drawl. With the blue sky above and the fresh air. we heading below Australia to meet up with our new fleet. I am eager to get to the Philippines as fast as possible because unlike my home, it is cold has hell out here. Our captain assured us that we were heading the right way but, in my gut, we are lost.
After 5 minutes of standing on the deck of the Achilles I went back into the ship to stat my daily route. I got back into my quarters and got inside of the shower. 10 minuets later I hop out of the shower walked towards the sink and look at myself in the memoir. My blue eyes stared back at me. My short jet-black hair contrast against my eyes. I have a scar going across my chest from a German who try to kill me with his knife.
After I got dressed I stated making my way to the mess hall for breakfast if you can call it breakfast. We usually had powdered eggs and if we were lucky we would get some bacon but the bacon was never good. Once I got inside the mess hall I got a plate of powdered eggs and bacon and went to find a table that had no one at it.
After eating I got back on the deck of the Achilles. I notice that we have made it to an island, or at least a peninsula off to our port. We were a decent way pass the tip if the peninsula I started to see the other part of the land coming into view. I watched as waves crashed agents the rocky shore line of this peninsula. It was so peaceful compared to the war I was fighting but, the next sound I heard made me worry. It is a soft buzzing sound as if it was a plane. My eyes drifted to the sky to see if my thought were correct. When my eyes made contact we a silhouette of four planes I thought why would there be American planes out this far? Then it clicked in my mined.
"Enemy aircraft in bound" I mange to shout at the top of my lunges.
Right after I said this the sound of our Anti-Aircraft guns started to fire. I started to dash across the deck of the Achilles Yelling "Enemy aircraft" running and pushing past multiple people
My eye looks back at the aircraft and sure enough the red sun of the Japanese was visible. The AA managed to down two of the four aircraft but the other two dropped there payload at least 7 feet away from me knocking me off my feet my mind started to go fizzy and my eyes were heavy, darkness started consumed me after that everything went black.
=================Unknown Amount of Time Later===============
I felt the roughness of sand pressing on my face. My groggy mined trying to figure out where I am and what happened. I pushed my body up in a push up stile. Once I got to my feet I look in front of me and I saw that there was a tree line about 30 feet away. I was about to walk to the tree line when I realized what had just happened I froze. "How did I get to this place?" I thought to my self. Well that would have to wait for later I needed to get to cover I was a sitting duck out here.
As I took a step forward I felt something hit my foot. I looked down and my stomach went into a knot. There before me was a kid no old then nineteen or eighteen blown in half with his legs missing. I bent down to get a better look at the kid who was dressed in US military uniform. I notice that there was something in his right breast pocket. When I pulled out the objects I could see that they were seven nickels. Out of the corner of my eye I notice that there were more bodies in total there was seven.
Checking all the bodies to see if any of them where alive. I am the only survivor that I know of but I did find twenty-four nickels, ten pennies, a single Canadian dollar coin, a M1911 with three mags a total of twenty-four bullets, a bayonet that look like it will fit a M1 Garand as well as the sheath that comes with it, a holster for the M1911, and finally one grenade.
I put the coins into my left breast pocket. I put the M1911 in its holster on the right side of my belt and the other two mags into my left pant pocket. Clipped the knife over my right breast pocket and finally clipped the grenade to the left side of my belt.
After getting my new-found gear sorted I got back on my feet and started to make my way into the frost. Walk for what seemed like hours I found a dirt path my instincts kicked in and avoid it at all costs. The Japs had to have an air strip on the island so that means that there was Japs on the island. The sun started to make its way down as night started to approach. The sun was not the only thing going down the temperature was also going down I needed to find shelter.
In the distance there, what seemed to be light coming off of something. I started making my way to it. I grabbed the M1911 in my right hand and the knife in my left. I held the knife under my right hand and pushed forwards. I notice that the light was coming from a fire in a small clearing. When scanning the area, I am pretty sure that my eyes are dissevering me this can't be real.
