Naruto was sitting next to where an exhausted Sakura was resting. She had just spent hours healing him and had totally run out of chakra. Hinata had just said farewell to Naruto and left with Ootsutsuki Toneri. Sakura decided she needed to talk to Naruto about love.

"Do you remember when you said you loved me?" she asks.

Naruto's eyes widen in confusion.

"Uh, no? I never did tell you that because you were clearly far too obsessed with Sasuke. What makes you say that?"

Sakura looked at Naruto oddly.

"Oh. Okay. Since you did want to say that, wasn't it just because I loved Sasuke? You didn't want to lose to him," she replied.

The confusion left Naruto's face and he glared at Sakura.

"What? Hell no! I'm always a hundred percent sincere about how I feel, Sakura-chan. You know me better than that. Why would you ever think that? I actually find that offensive," he said.

"But it's real this time, isn't it?" Sakura asked, reading from the script.

"Uh, I guess? I don't really know. Apparently I don't have any idea what love is and I'm trying to find out with Hinata," Naruto explained.

"You're such an idiot. Obviously she had a reason she couldn't reveal to you."

"Well, no shit. Only an idiot doesn't know what love is. You don't have to be cruel about it."

"When a girl truly falls in love, her feelings don't change that easily."

"How do you know? Are you saying you had feelings for me, but they just weren't that significant compared to those you had for Sasuke? I'm really confused now," said a flustered Naruto.

"Hinata is a great person. Honestly she's too good for you," Sakura replied.

"Shut up! She just sat back and watched as I was alone and isolated for years as a child," Naruto snapped. "Fuck it, I'm leaving."

Naruto stood up and left the room.

"You would understand better if you had heard what Sasuke said about my forehead back then! It was so romantic!" Sakura yelled after him.

"That was me!" Naruto shouted back at her.

"Seriously? Wow, I'm really shallow..." Sakura mumbled.

He didn't return.
