Hey y'all! Back with a short little sweet thing :) Picks up right at the end of Unholiest Alliance. ENJOY!
"I get it, you're just looking out for me."
"Always."
Clasping his rough hand between hers, she brought it to her lips and pressed a lingering kiss to it. Ed shifted on his stool at the feeling of her plump lips against the back of his hand, releasing a heavy breath through his nostrils.
The grip of his right hand on her thigh tightened at the feeling of her lips against his skin. No matter where they were on his body, her lips always had a way of driving him crazy. She dropped his hand so it landed on her right thigh, mirroring his other one.
Olivia's heart swelled as she looked up at him, never had she felt so loved and protected in her life. The desire that spread through her body was not for the full wine glass on the bar but for the man sitting in front of her.
Ed Tucker was a game changer. The man she had always hoped for was in right in front of her all along, her sworn enemy. She stood up from the stool as she motioned for the check, her body pressing in between his thighs.
"You sure you don't want to finish that?" His hands had moved to the back of her thighs, ghosting just below the swell of her backside as he eyed the wine glass.
Sliding her hand up his shoulder and around his neck, she pressed a quick kiss to his pouty lips. "I'm feeling buzzed already." She murmured against his lips. "And it's not from the wine."
With one hand still on the back of her thigh, the other slipped under her blazer to pull her against him. Her soft curves aligning deliciously with the hard planes of his body. He pressed a searing kiss to her lips before muttering, "Let's get outta here."
The late March air whipped around Ed and Olivia as they walked down the quaint brownstone-lined street. Her arm was securely around his waist under his green cargo jacket, her body tucked under his arm as she matched his pace.
It was unseasonably warm despite the swift gusts of wind that picked up since they left the bar. His arm was bent behind her back, his large hand cupping the back of her neck under her hair. Her heart sped up as his thumb rhythmically passed over the pulse point under her ear.
The heat of her body pressed against his warmed him all the way down to his core. He felt the way her pulse throbbed, speeding up with each swipe of his thumb. The muscles in his lower stomach clenched when her hand slipped into the back pocket of his jeans.
A groan bubbled up his throat as his hand flexed against the nape of her neck. Pressing a kiss to her temple, he whispered. "Follow me."
Taking her by the hand, Ed led her to a nearby alleyway. This wasn't your typical New York City alley, this was Greenwich village. A lantern style lamp post dimly lit the alley from the other end, ivy climbed up the weathered brick and curled around the wrought iron fire escapes. It was the Nora Ephron's New York.
With her hands on his chest and his cupping her elbows, he walked her backwards until her back was against the wall. She tried to fight the smile that pulled at the corners of her lips but when she saw the mischievous glint shining in his blue eyes, she failed miserably.
Bringing his hand up her her face, he traced her plump lips with the pad of his thumb. "I've missed that smile." He rasped as he pushed his body against hers, trapping her against the cool brick.
"These past couple of weeks have been rough and there are so many things I would've done differently in this investigation but I'm trying to look on the bright side." She explained as her hands slid around his waist, under his jacket. "We both have our jobs. I have Noah... I have you." She turned her head and placed a kiss to the center of his palm.
Leaning forward, he brushed his nose against hers. "You'll always have me." He breathed against her lips. She pulled him to her by the collar, his lips searing hers in an fevered kiss. His hands circled her lower back as it arched off the brick wall, her hips pressing invitingly against his.
The feelings that Olivia elicited in him are some that he had never felt before. With every touch of her lips, the need he felt for her pumped through his veins with a growing intensity. Her lips opened up his and his hot tongue slipped into her mouth to tangle with her.
A groan bubbled up his throat as her nails scraped down his chest over the soft material of his shirt. She sucked his bottom lip between hers, soothing the sting from her teeth.
One of his hands slid over the curve of her backside while the other circled her shoulder to squeeze the back of her neck. He knew how much she loved when he did that. He did that when he wanted her and he did it often. Whether it was when they were out at a bar or on the couch at home, she knew what she was in store for. The gesture was like Ed himself, respectfully territorial.
Tearing his mouth away from her, he pressed his lips against her ear. "As much as I'd like to fuck you against this wall." He rasped, his hot breath puffing down her neck as he swept her hair behind her shoulder. "I'd like for both of us to keep our jobs more."
The absence of her body heat chilled his own as he pushed off the wall. She made a childish pouting face which caused his laugh to boom through the narrow alleyway. He grabbed her hand and pulled her away from the cool brick, fastening her arm around his waist before wrapping his own around her shoulders.
Pulling her close, he pressed his lips to her temple as they turned out of the alleyway. "Nothing is worth the risk of losing you."
