Pokémon Sun and Moon: Michael's Journey
Ch22: Glaring Clash
It was already morning as Michael was currently seen standing in the makeshift battlefield with a giant boulder on the other side. Charjabug is standing in front of Michael as Michael equipped his new Z-crystal on his wrist.
The only Pokémon on his team that can be compatible with Flyium-Z is Charjabug. Not that Michael didn't find it strange as Lillie once show him of videos with another Pokémon being used with Flyium-Z crystal. Though Michael admits that Flyium-Z is very deadly with heavier and larger Pokémon as they do much more damage.
But for safety reasons, he also wears his goggle to protect himself from possible debrief.
"Let's go, Charjabug," Michael said as Charjabug chirped.
Michael soon does the post as glowing light appeared around him. "Strike down from above…!" The redhead shouted, "Supersonic Skystrike!"
Soon the power was poured into Charjabug before Charjabug suddenly lifted high into the sky. It wasn't long until Michael can see Charjabug coming down hard on the boulder.
It wasn't long until Charjabug contacted the boulder, a large crack on the field occurs in the process. The crash made even Michael slight off the balance before he manages it.
Even with something small as Charjabug, the move can create a heavy force on the field… Michael thought, taking a quick mental note about it.
Flyium-Z really served as a crash the field type move or taking out a lot of everyone else by making losing their balance when leveled the field. But at least, he wasn't using something large as Wailord or it will be too messy to clean up.
It wasn't long until Charjabug comes out from the dust storm and shaking her head to get rid of the dust.
"Michael!" The redhead turns around to see Lillie who comes toward him.
"Morning Lillie." Michael greeted.
"What in the world were you doing?" Lillie questioned. "And what was that sound early?"
"I was testing Flyium-Z with Charjabug," Michael answered bluntly.
After that redhead was suddenly interrupted by punches on his stomach from the young blonde girl in the process.
"What in the world are you thinking? You shouldn't use Supersonic Skystrike in the morning and cause an earthquake! Why can't you do it somewhere else?! Now that I think about it, why did you used it in the morning? Why didn't you inform us before doing it?"
Michael stares blanking at Lillie before he interrupted her.
"Lillie, you're rambling," Michael stated.
Lillie blushed a bright red at the fact that she had fallen into her habits, she took the time to recompose herself and looked calmly at Michael.
"For now, you can't use this battlefield until it was repaired and no using Flyium-Z here ever! Why did you use it anyway?" Lillie asked, confused.
"This Z-move I'm still unfamiliar with. Charjabug is currently the only one with a Flying move so I need to practice with her the most on it. But most of all, I need to find out the strength and weaknesses behind this certain Z move." Michael said.
The pale blond girl pondered over Michael's reasoning.
"Hmm, I guess… it is a good enough reason. But if you want me to forgive you… you must apologize sincerely." Lillie said. Though she didn't mind a normal one either.
Michael deadpanned at her demand but complied. He soon bows his head downward.
"I am truly sorry, for not informed you of my idea of practicing in the first place." The redhead said with all the sincere he can up.
Lillie has a smile upon her face after hearing them. "I accept the apologies, Michael." Lillie said, "Come on, let's go eat breakfast before heading to school."
Michael and Charjabug soon followed her from behind.
Meanwhile, in another part of Melemele Island, a paled blonde hair boy dressed in torn-up black clothes is walking with his only companion presence— Umbreon.
There weren't many changes since he was last here on the island as he once recalled. He just returned from the previous boat ride from Akala Island. Though he did get stop early by lowly grunts of Team Skull due to their obsession with his Umbreon and must teach them a lesson.
He originally thought nothing much changes, but he did hear a rumor about a strange trainer who used double battles for his main style and his main Pokémon happens to be Espeon. Though he felt it strange before hearing Tapu Koko have challenged the trainer twice especially using its significant Z move on the trainer.
Whoever that trainer was, they must have caught the attention of the Island Guardian… The blonde hair boy thought to himself.
Classes were over already as Michael, Lillie, Magnus, and Shiron are seen riding on the backseat of the car driven by James. Though Michael would walk to his part-time job but riding in the car seems to be a nice way to pass the time. Lillie smiling at the scene before looking out at the car window.
Michael is seen petting both Shiron the Alola Vuplix and Magus the Jangmo-o as both baby Pokémon wants his attention.
"James, stop the car!" Lillie shouts.
The abrupted command stopped the car at the nearby park.
Michael did his best to make sure both Shiron and Magnus were safe after the sudden stop by Lillie's own command.
"What the heck?" Michael groans as he saw Shiron lands on her Mama's shoulder before Lillie runs out of the car immediately.
"Miss Lillie?" James asked, looking shocked.
Michael had no idea of what's going on with Lillie. He looks at Magnus who seems to be dizzy from the car sickness and returns him back to his Pokeball before going outside.
James seems to also have the same idea as he and Michael followed Lillie from behind. The two went down the staircase and run after her to a crowd of people. Among those people, the one who Lillie was running caught Michael's attention.
It was a boy while similar hair and eyes. Standing with him are Umbreon and Lycanroc Midnight Form.
That's… Michael thought as he remembered something from the photo in Lillie's room.
"Big Brother Gladion!" Lillie shouts as this stops the paled hair blonde boy with similar eye colors as her, but he dresses in black.
"Lillie…" Gladion said, looking a bit surprised to see her especially who she is carried.
"I didn't think the mysterious trainer would be you!" Lillie said, looking a bit happy to see her older brother once again.
"So, you can touch Pokémon again now?" Gladion asked, a bit surprised. This is certainly a surprise to him after seeing her sister being able to do it.
Michael stares at the estranged brother of Lillie in front of him with a neutral expression and clenched one of his hands in his pocket. The sight of him made the redhead feeling furious angry at him. Not on the same level when he crushed Cipher. After what happens to Lillie, Gladion left everything without any words and goes on his own journey. Gladion should've been the one who does all the responsibility as an older brother in the first place.
How could you leave your sister who is traumatized and poisoned in the first place?! Michael thought angry as he watches James and Lillie interacted with Gladion about Shiron.
However, Michael chooses to hold back the desire to clubbing down Gladion right here and now. He knows better than lashing out at Gladion right now in front of Lillie and others.
"This young man is Michael; he is been with us for a few months and helping Miss Lillie in overcoming her phobia," James said as the blonde hair boy took noticed of him.
"What do you have gain from helping my sister?" Gladion questioned, noticed his Z-Ring on his wrist. But he is a bit curious about what he gained from helping Lillie.
"I have a debt to repaid," Michael stated.
Gladion only stares at him in response with a neutral look before speaking up eventually. "Then I would challenge you to a Pokémon battle," Gladion said. Originally, he would dismiss the idea, but if Michael been trying to help his sister with her fear.
But when he got a look at Michael's eyes. He has been around the Alola region and he never faced trainers with eyes like him before.
"Alright. One-on-One then," Michael said before looking at others. "I hope you guys don't mind moving back?" he asked to those around him.
"Of course." James and Lillie respond before everyone else moving away from him and Gladion.
Michael soon walks a few feet back before getting out a Pokeball from his belt. He then enlarged it and tossed it into the air.
Out of the light was a sleeping Espeon who let out a yawn before seeing Gladion and his Pokémon team in front of him.
"Espe?" Espeon asked. (So, we finally meet her brother?)
Espeon, remember the plan we once talk about if we find him… Michael thought.
"Umbe?" Umbreon blinks in surprised of seeing a fellow Eeveelution and opposite.
"Are you for real…?" Gladion questioned, looking at Espeon with a suspicious expression.
"Don't underestimate my partner like that because of being a psychic-type," Michael responds with a cold expression.
"Umbe!" Gladion turns to looks at the Moonlight Pokémon. "Umb! Umb!" The Moonlight Pokémon can be certain that this lavender Pokémon is stronger than normal.
"Umbreon, I'm counting on you," Gladion said as Umbreon soon stand in the opposite of his Psychic counterpart.
Upon reaching the battlefield, both Espeon and Umbreon are glaring at each other as they wait for their partner's orders.
"Umbreon, Shadow Ball!" Gladion shouts as Umbreon opened his jaw to gather dark energy into his jaw.
Iron Tail! Michael thought serious.
Shadow Ball was fired from Umbreon's mouth and send to Espeon who sliced the attack in half, causing an explosion in the process. Though the explosion only lasts for a few seconds Gladion saw that Espeon was still standing where he was, but his eyes were glowing briefly.
He didn't give any vocal commands to Espeon? Gladion thought.
It wasn't long until Espeon soon zoomed across the field with Quick Attack toward Umbreon and knocked him few feet back. But Umbreon shrugged it off and glares at his counterpart.
"Umbreon, Dark Pulse!" Gladion shouts.
"Umbre!" The Moonlight Pokémon soon gathered multiple black orbs of energy with a purple outline from in front of his head and fired at Espeon.
But this time, there is a green barrier protected the lavender feline Pokémon from the Dark Pulse. But it wasn't long until Espeon returns with retaliation as his eyes glow and released a powerful orange beam at Umbreon.
Umbreon couldn't dodge in time as the attack struck him and a large explosion occur. It wasn't long until the explosion faded as Umbreon collapsed straight to the ground.
"Umbreon, get some rest," Gladion said as he returns the Moonlight Pokémon back to his Pokeball. He turned around and ready to leave.
"Big brother… would you like to come back to our home?" Lillie asked, quietly.
"Please, Master Gladion," James said with a pleading tone.
"No, I have things to take care of," Gladion said as he gives Lycanroc a gesture to follow him as well.
Michael is about to say something before he felt something wrapped around his leg and looks down at Espeon who stares at him. The angry he felt was calm as Espeon's presence lurking within his mind.
(It's better that we leave him now, nothing that Lillie and James say would change anything. We have time to discuss what I find at work.) Espeon said as Michael looks back at where Gladion went.
'Alright, but that doesn't mean Gladion wouldn't get what he comes for while he still on the island', Michael thought calm and relentless.
(Of course.) Espeon said.
Michael turned toward Lillie who has a sadden expression after seeing her older brother leave. There isn't really much he can do to helped her with something like this and it likely best to leave her alone for the time being.
"Lillie…" Michael started.
"Michael, there is nothing wrong with me," Lillie said as she seems struggled with her brother's distant from her.
"No, I'm just going to tell you that I'm going to walk to Snorlax Pancake from here. I know that you have a lot on your mind when seeing your brother again." Michael stated calmly as possible.
"Okay, Michael…" Lillie said, "I will see you later."
With that, Michael and Espeon turned around as they walk away from everyone else in the park.
In something that looks like a laboratory, two scientists in white coats were looking over something on the table. Something that is glowing pitch black and violet at the same time.
"This is incredible… no wonder why our men having trouble with that Dragonite! Its gene is altered completed than a normal Dragonite!" The first scientist said with odd large goggles.
"Yes… I thought that Dragonite caught the Pokerus, but this is much more than a mere virus, Faba." Another scientist commented, but whoever he was taller than his counterpart. "It can alter the nature of the Pokémon and grant them power in a similar way as those who possessed Mega Evolution. The Dragonite's very DNA can break a new boundary that we never saw before."
"It still hard to believed that we never find out who created this virus that the Dragonite possessed." The other scientist said.
"Even so, we will find out the secret of what made Dragonite like this and breaks the boundary…" The scientist said, "will it bring out the true strength in Pokémon, I wonder?"
'Let me get this straight…' Michael watching Velvet carried the orders to the table. 'The reason he left was to taken care of the strange Pokémon, by Aether Foundation for fighting this odd Pokémon known as 'Ultra Beasts', that helped Lillie and he doesn't even trust his own mother?'
(That probably sum up all of it.) Espeon said, eating the pancake on his plate.
'Great, the reason why Lillie has been poisoned because of a stupid adult screw up and covered up the truth.' Michael mentally said with sarcastically. 'Not to mention dumbass runs from his own mother.'
(What is your thought about these Ultra Beasts?) Espeon asked.
'I guess it surprises since I know there are Pokémon in space, but from other dimensions… that is something I never thought a possibility. But can they really be considered Pokémon?' Michael asked.
(I'm not sure I would even consider them Pokémon either. But I got a feeling that we might see them in the future.) Espeon replied.
"Michael!" Michael turns around and went into the kitchen in order to deliver the new set of pancakes right now.
'Do you know where that idiot went?' Michael questioned.
(I do…)
Inside a cavern, Gladion is looking at the fire before hearing a painful groan from one of his companions.
"Take it easy, Silvally…" Gladion said as he was tending to the pain of the helmet.
"So, this is where you been hiding…" A familiar voice made Gladion flinched. He soon turns around and seeing Michael is coming toward him with Espeon following from behind.
The redhead has a very dark expression upon his face when staring at Gladion.
"You!" Gladion growl seriously before standing up. "You shouldn't be here!" He shouts angrily.
Michael didn't say anything before punching Gladion in the face and made him hits the ground. This made the three Pokémon gasp in shocked.
"What the hell was that for!?" Gladion demands before looking up at him.
Michael is staring down at the older brother of Lillie with the most furious expression upon his face. The kind that reminds Gladion of a very vicious Pokémon.
"That was for abandoned your sister when she needed you the most, you jerkass!" Michael snapped as he released all his angry upon Gladion with his fists.
"Wait, you don't understand—" Gladion tried to explain to Michael but the redhead won't listen and beating him down to the ground.
"I already know enough about what you've done! You abandoned Lillie when that monster attacked her! You didn't help her when she was traumatized!" Michael intercepted before processing to beating him down the ground, "You commit an asinine crime that no older siblings should dare to commit… and that is ABANDONED YOUR SISTER WHEN SHE NEEDED YOU THE MOST!" He finished after landing a brutal punch that knocked Gladion across the floor.
Michael soon turned and glances at Gladion's another Pokémon. Both Umbreon and Lycanroc seem to be intimidated by his stare even with Espeon's standing near to protected him if they intervene.
But the redhead's attention is focused on the unknown Pokémon with the helmet that watching far from them. He can tell that this Pokémon is created in the most inhumane fashion.
The Pokémon had a body that looked like a Houndoom, but its front legs were different from back legs as they appeared to belong to some bug type that was cut off another Pokémon and stitched right on to it. They were dark green with three spikes on the back of the legs with two talons at the front and one at the back. Like the front legs, a tail on the back reminded Michael of a Gyarados. It had a grey mane that was ripped apart and roughened up. The mane finished at where a helmet started. At the bottom of the helmet was a ring that looked awfully familiar. Two squares were in front was a pair of eyes emotionally stared out of them. On top of the helmet was a rock reminded him of the ancient Orre helmet that was seen in the ancient Orre Colosseum.
The strange Pokémon growls quietly at Michael while the redhead can't help but feeling wince of pity upon seeing it in person. A Pokémon like this would normally never been accepted as the rest of the Pokémon due to being born through the most inhumane way.
(It really is unfortunate that he was treated like this after helping Lillie from that monster.) Espeon said, stares at the poor thing.
Michael chooses to say nothing but getting up from the ground and walking away from them while Espeon stays close by his side.
"W-Wait!" An angry voice hashing shout.
Michael didn't need to turn his head to know who it was as the fool who struggled to make his way out of the cave. "You really shouldn't move with the current condition," the redhead said in a cold and blunt.
"Like hell, I would, you bastard!" Gladion growls despite wipe the blood from his nose, "You don't know… what it like when the adults don't believe you!" he snapped angrily.
Michael cockily his head back at the pale blonde-haired boy. "If you felt something is wrong, then stand up to your mother! Your proof of what happens to Lillie is closer than you think and never bothered to consider the possibility. Instead, you choose to run away from everyone else because you are nothing more than a big quitter! How could you call yourself a child of famous researchers when you can't provide evidence to prove what happened?" Michael growl coldly.
Gladion gritting his teeth as he never in his life felt angrier at the person that his own sister took in. The redhead has the nerves to talk about his duty as an older brother and runs off as if he was a little kid!
"That does it… I will not be tolerated after everything you say!" Gladion shouts, "Let's settle this as Pokémon Trainers!"
What do you think? Michael looking at Espeon. He is already calm after beating down Gladion, but he wonders if it worth fighting all Gladion's Pokémon especially that chimera Pokémon.
(Let's do. Though let Vee and Ivysaur have shot against his two since they're anxious about not having a good fight especially Vee is keen on facing her older brother. Let me take care of Silvally if he calls him.) Espeon said. (Not to mention that he is also used a Z-move.)
With that, Michael looks up from Espeon and facing Gladion.
"Come at me whenever you're ready," Michael said.
"Lycanroc, let's go!" Gladion shouts as the Midnight Wolf Pokémon emerged from the cave and standing in front of his trainer.
"Roc…" Lycanroc growls in a furious tone.
Michael got out his Pokeball and tossed it to the air as Ivysaur materialized in front of him.
"Saur…!" The Seed Pokémon growls at the new challenge before his presence.
"Ivysaur, Attack Plan B," Michael commanded in low voice.
Ivysaur soon realized a barrage of seeds from his back like missiles to Lycanroc.
"Lycanroc, Stone Edge!" Gladion countered.
Lycanroc soon slammed his paws to the ground and created large pillars before him to take the blows from the seed bombs that were thrown and created an explosion in the process.
Ivysaur looking around the smoke carefully before spotted a shadow emerged as Lycanroc comes out and charged at him.
"Get close to Ivysaur with Quick Attack!" Gladion shouts.
"Saur!" Ivysaur soon released orange powders in the direction.
"Jump over it!" Gladion shouts.
Lycanroc leaps over the powders and went toward Ivysaur before slammed the Seed Pokémon backward with a shoulder tackle.
"Ivysaur, Plan C," Michael said.
Soon Ivysaur showed a serious expression before released his Vine Whips toward Lycanroc's direction. Lycanroc tried to get away but the vines snatch his jaw and left leg in the process as he struggled to move away.
It wasn't long until Ivysaur lifted the Midnight Wolf Pokémon into the air and spinning around.
"Outrage, now!" Gladion shouts.
Soon Lycanroc's eyes glow pure red along with his entire body before Ivysaur throws him toward the tree. But Lycanroc performed a backflipped and land his feet on the tree and vanished into thin air.
The Midnight Wolf Pokémon soon reappeared in front of Ivysaur and punches him several times in the face, sending him back in the process.
But Lycanroc still keeps on moving toward him.
"Trap him with Plan B-2!" Michael shouts.
Though he can't see due to the scratches, he slammed his vines to the ground and lifted himself into mid-air and leave seeds from his back into the air. The seeds struck the berserker Lycanroc in the process and vines sprout from them to absorb his energy in the process.
"Lycanroc!" Gladion shouts in shock.
Soon Ivysaur then released a barrage of leaves directly at Lycanroc who was in the binding and sending him rolling across the ground. Lycanroc soon collapsed straight to the ground and fainted in the process.
Gladion soon returns him back to his Pokeball and looks at Umbreon who comes out next. "Umbreon, can you handle this?" he asked.
Umbreon nodded.
"Can you still fight?" Michael asked to Ivysaur.
"Saur!" Ivysaur nodded with a serious expression. After all the energy from Lycanroc been absorbed, he can still go for another round.
"Dark Pulse!" Gladion shouts serious.
"Plan B-3." Michael retort.
Ivysaur released a barrage of leaves at Umbreon's Dark Pulses to countered them. He then released purple powder straight into the air in front of him.
"Iron Tail on the sand!" Gladion shouts as Umbreon swings his Iron Tail across the sand and the dirty taken out the Poison Powder in the air before getting some of them in Ivysaur's eyes in the process.
"Saur!" Ivysaur screamed due to the sand got into his eyes.
This can't be good if he can't see it… Michael thought before noticed Gladion got out something.
"You got nerves of what you say early…" Gladion said before taking out something from his pocket and it a pitch-black Z-crystal and placed on his Z-Ring.
"Let's go, Umbreon!" Gladion shouts as he does the pose for his Z-move, "Black Hole Eclipse!"
A black orb with a red and purple outline forms in front of Umbreon before released the attack straight into the air above Ivysaur.
That is a freaking black hole!? Michael thought in shocked and disbelief at the sight.
"Saur!?" Ivysaur exclaimed after seeing the black hole in the sky. But it wasn't long until Ivysaur was picked up against his will by the gravitation pull of the black hole in the sky.
"Ivysaur! Release seed bombs into the hole!" Michael shouts, wanting to destroy the black hole. Though Solar Beam might work that move is better to do in daylight.
"It's useless," Gladion said.
Ivysaur attempt to release the seed bombs into the black hole, but the black hole wasn't disabled, and the gravitation pull of the black hole intensified.
Ivysaur was soon sucked into the black hole before it rapidly compacts down to a small size and denotates. It wasn't long until Ivysaur was seen fall straight to the ground hard and heap out of commission.
Michael didn't say anything before he returns Ivysaur back to his Pokeball. Though he felt bad for Ivysaur, he least gets to see what the Dark Z Move looks and it something worth when he obtains that Z crystal of his own someday.
"Vee, standby now!" Michael shouts before throwing his next Pokeball.
Soon materialized out of the Pokeball in front of Michael was his Syvleon.
This made both Gladion's and his Umbreon's eyes widen in shock at the other Eeveelution in their presence.
(Pokémon Speech On!)
Umbreon looks at the Intertwining Pokémon. He wasn't sure why but something about that Pokémon seem familiar to him, but why?
"It's nice to see you again, Big Brother." Velvet greet upon looking at the Umbreon.
"W-Who are you?" Umbreon questioned.
"I guess it hard to not known, but I always did want to be like you." Velvet said.
"Wait, Velvet? That you?" The Moonlight Pokémon gasp in surprise.
"Glad to see you." Velvet said before an excited expression appeared on her face. "It's my turn to face you!"
(Pokémon Speech Off!)
"Vee, Plan A!" Michael shouts.
The Intertwining Pokémon acknowledged before charging forward at incredible speed with a pink glow around her.
"Dark Pulse!" Gladion shouts.
Umbreon soon snapped out of his thoughts and fired Dark Pulses at the other Eeveelution. But Velvet dodged out of the way the attacks and ramming straight into him hard with a headbutt. This sends the Moonlight Pokémon skidding back in the process.
Again, with not being able to tell what he is planning when he did not announce his attack… Gladion thought frustrated.
"Umbreon, Iron Tail!" Gladion shouts.
"Umbre!" The Moonlight Pokémon soon charged forward again with his tail glow like steel in the night.
When the Iron Tails comes for her, Velvet dodged the attempts by leaping backward elegantly before Umbreon stuck his tail into the ground.
"Veee!" Intertwining Pokémon then focused on the power of the moon and gathering it in front of her.
"Countered with Shadow Ball!" Gladion shouts.
Both Eeveelution siblings fired their attacks at each other and collided with each other. It wasn't long until the Shadow Ball was overpowered by Moonblast in the process and struck against Umbreon in the process.
It wasn't long until the smoke faded as Umbreon fell straight into unconsciousness. Velvet soon approaches Umbreon and licks her brother's head as Umbreon let out a soft groan while looking at her with a small smile.
Gladion can't help gritting his teeth in angry before hearing a growl as Silvally emerged from the cave and glaring at Michael and his Pokémon.
"Do you really to fight?" Michael asked with a nonchalant expression. Though he won't deny being curious how much power it possessed after being restrained by the helmet was put on him.
"Grrr….!" Silvally growls furiously
"Silvally…" Gladion said.
Velvet can't help shuddering at the unexpected appearance of the unknown Pokémon as something about it making her feel rather an unease now. But her fellow Eeveelution's presence comes into her head.
(Vee, this guy will be out of your level. I will take care of things from here while you get some rest.) Espeon said.
"Vee!" The Intertwining Pokémon affirmed before Michael returns her back to her Pokeball and Espeon comes straight to the frontline again.
"Fine, Silvally. Even with the helmet, we will show why you can't be underestimated!" Gladion said seriously. "Air Slash!"
Silvally roar as he formed a light-blue ball of energy in front of its head. It then fires multiple light-blue blades of energy from the ball at the lavender feline Pokémon.
Let's go with seeing how it will have their attacks back at them first… Michael thought.
They didn't touch hair from Espeon whose eyes glow as the attacks were frozen in the middle of the air. Espeon soon sends the attacks back at Silvally who didn't flinch or damaged from the attack.
"Sword Dance!" Gladion shouts.
"Raaa!" the chimera Pokémon growls as the eyes turned light blue. The next few seconds, glowing blue swords appeared around him and crossed together. Silvally then started to glow red, meaning that its attack power grew.
"Now Crush Claws!" Gladion shouts.
Used Iron Tail! Michael thought.
Both Pokémon stares hard at each other before they charged against each other. Silvally's claws glowing intently red. Espeon's tail becomes silver and sharp like a true sword that ready to cut anything in sight.
The two traded blows with each other after their attack make both bounced back from each other. Silvally charged at him once with his Crush Claws and Espeon moved out of the way and jumps from his behind to deliver a downward slash that struck Silvally in the helmet, sending it skidding back.
(Did you see that just now, Michael?) Espeon asked.
Yeah, whatever materials they used to make that helmet must be extremely sturdy to withstand your Iron Tail… Michael thought.
"Double Hit!" Gladion shouts.
Used Protect then followed up with Psychic! Michael thought serious.
Silvally's head crest and tail glow white and it attacks the green bubble around Espeon with them each time. It wasn't until the moment after the attack failed as Espeon's eyes glow.
"Get out of the way, Silvally!" Gladion shouts serious as he realized what's going to happen next.
However, the warning comes out late as Silvally been taking straight into the air by Espeon's psychic power in the process and before making it screamed in pain in the process.
"Silvally!" Gladion shouts with a worried expression.
It wasn't long until Espeon throws the chimera across the sandy field after releasing it from the grips, Silvally struggles to get itself back up from the ground despite looking tired.
"Grrr…!" Silvally growls menacingly at the Espeon.
"I think that is enough," Michael said as this made Gladion looks shocked.
"What!?" Gladion is confused by his sudden decision of stopping the battle.
"With that restrain on him being impossible to break, his full power can't be released. I don't see any more reasons for fighting against someone who has been forced to hold back. But most of all, you choose him over your sister, I hope that you don't find that much of a mistake." Michael stated sarcastically and cold before turning around and leaving with Espeon in the process.
Soon the shock on Gladion's face turned into rage. "You… what in the world are you?" Gladion demands furiously.
Michael didn't say anything as he continued walking away from him.
Gladion gritting his teeth before turning around as his attention focused on Silvally who growls angrily at the direction where Michael was going. He can't help thinking about the way Michael beat him especially with Espeon on Silvally.
The gap between me and him… is much bigger than I expected, Gladion thought bitter. But what even confused him is how did he know about what happens to Lillie and… know about that thing.
It wasn't long until Michael made his way back to the mansion and went inside after one of Lillie's workers let him inside.
I guess that Lillie and others must be asleep now… Michael thought, knowing how late it was after coming back to the mansion.
For now, he will check the kitchen to get something for him and his Pokémon to eat before heading for the bed.
It turns out that he wasn't the only one in the kitchen. He saw Lillie was pouring herself a glass of milk before she noticed him.
"Oh, Michael," Lillie looks surprised to see him. "W-welcome back." She said.
Michael stares at her. "What are you doing up so late?" he asked, curious.
"I can't sleep, and I thought that drinking milk would help me out," Lillie explains. "Michael, there are leftovers for you in the refrigerator." She added.
"Thanks," Michael said before going to the refrigerator and get out things from there.
"Michael… why would you doing out so late?" Asked Lillie curious.
"Got sidetrack with something," Michael answered before placing one of the plates in the microwave and set the number on the timer.
"And that is?" Asked Lillie.
"Team Skull grunts are annoying," Michael answered before going to the cabinet and took out Pokémon treats for his team.
"I won't deny that…" Lillie responds. Though she can't help thinking there might be another reason why Michael comes home late. "Say, Michael… there is something I want to ask you." She spoke up.
"Hmm?" Michael paused.
"What would you do if someone you hadn't seen for a long time come back without calling for a long time?" Lillie asked quietly.
Michael didn't say anything at first after her question before he finds his voice.
"If it was me… I will probably have questioned them about where they went and why they never call home," Michael said. "Even if they think it important to not tell anyone, a family shouldn't keep secrets from each other, or they are not family at all. We're supposed to look out for each other." He finished.
If he was anything like Gladion— Michael would be disgusted with himself. Gladion runs away to keep the Pokémon he calls 'Silvally' safe and that he never truly to convince his mother about what really happens. It's rather unfortunate that Pokémon ends up with someone like Gladion.
Not to mention the one who responsible for the mess will get worse than I give to Gladion, Michael thought.
"Thank…" Lillie said, "Even if someone with a family problem like me, I—" Before she could finish her sentence, Michael hugged her.
Her eyes widen in surprise at Michael's act. "M-Michael…?" She was surprised by the fact that someone like Michael could do this, but this made her felt warmth.
"It might not be much, but I will make sure you will get better." He whispered softly.
"Thank you…" Lillie softly said before returns the hug.
It wasn't long until Michael released her as Lillie excused herself from the kitchen to let him eat in peace. Michael sigh before he turned and prepared meals for his Pokémon and himself.
There was a large metal door with the word 'danger' written in bold red letters as the scientist walk calmly toward it. It looks to everyone else that no one comes through this place due to how dusty the place truly and deepens under the ocean.
He looks at the number pad before taking out a device and attached it to it. He pressed down on the keyboards in the process.
It wasn't long until the door was open and leave a ghostly chill in its awakening. The scientist walks into the room and finds what he was looking for.
Hanging on the wall with chains but looking barely was something resembled Gladion's Silvally. But this one looks barely feeder and there were scars on the helmet that contain its power.
Suddenly one of the eyes barely opened as it gave off a low growl.
"Grrrh…"
"Don't worry, I see great potential in you, Null. Being part of the first few Pokémon that I will bring out the true strength… by closing the heart." The scientist said calmly and quiet before taking something from his pocket. In his hand was what looks like a Pokeball. But the top half of the ball is purple, with a white letter "M" on the front, with a pink circle on either side.
He soon tossed the Master Ball at the creature chained on the wall and captured it in the process. The scientist retrieved it before placing it back into his pocket and leave the abandoned chamber behind.
AN: That is the end of the chapter for now. Michael finally meets Gladion and learns about the reason behind his disappearance. Not to mention Gladion's Type Null is named Silvally here due to what I saw in the Japanese episodes of Sun and Moon. As for why Gladion used Dark Type Z move here, I thought here that he been gone for a long time, he would probably collect another Z-crystal beside the one for Midnight Lycanroc to strengthen up his current party.
