Deidara stared at his image in the vanity mirror. His hair hung over his naked form, hiding his chest and part of his hips from view. His neck was covered in love bites and his lips were slightly bruised. Only a faint purplish color adorned them like rouge he had applied and wiped off. The markings were signs that his alpha desired and loved him. Marking him in any way he could. He should've been happy to be loved so wholly but...

Deidara hugged his torso. He put his palms flatly against his stomach. He was pregnant. Itachi's child was growing inside him. His natural instincts were telling him to be happy. Instead of sitting in the dark while he stared at his image he should've been underneath his alpha, letting him take care of him for the rest of his heat. He wouldn't have another heat until after he gave birth. He should be enjoying his last one till then but he wasn't because this wasn't a happy occasion. He never wanted to get pregnant. He never wanted to put Itachi through what he had seen Sasuke go through that day when Naruto had given birth and momentarily died on his birthing bed. He had failed and now because of that both he and Itachi would suffer.

"Why are you so quiet? It's unlike you?" Itachi came up behind Deidara. Deidara's voice caught in his throat. He was surprised. He thought Itachi was still sleeping. It was early still.

Itachi encircled his arms around Deidara's naked waist. He kissed Deidara's neck, right over his mating mark. Deidara shivered under his alphas ministrations. He pressed his thighs together to calm the heat surging between his legs.

"Your skin is hot, you're still in heat. Let me take care of you..." Itachi's voice trailed along Deidara's neck as he skimmed his hand up against Deidara's rib cage.

Deidara's body quivered. He instinctually opened his legs. Even though Itachi had just woken up he still looked so handsome. His black hair hung over his muscled shoulders and his cobalt eyes burned with sincerity. This beautiful alpha loved him with all his heart and Deidara took pure delight in that fact. Itachi's fragile heart belonged only to him. It was his to keep safe always and forever. A small part of him was stupidly happy he was having Itachi's child. No one else would ever have the privilege to do so. Just as the problematic thought came Deidara was reminded what him being pregnant entailed. Pain and suffering for the alpha he loved with all his heart.

Deidara clamped his legs closed and pulled away. "I feel ill, we can't today, my demon." Deidara felt wretched for lying but the alternative was much worse. Itachi could not know the truth.

Itachi grew worried in an instant. "Ill? What's wrong?"

Deidara stood. He kissed Itachi's lips to quiet his rampant questioning then pulled away. "Don't worry, it's nothing serious. I just need to rest for the day. Fetch me breakfast?"

Itachi raised his brow. He activated his sharingan and scanned Deidara's body, looking for any oddities.

"Stop!" Deidara turned his body around and hugged his stomach. He didn't know exactly how the sharingan worked but he didn't want Itachi to see that his seed had taken root inside him.

Itachi was fully alarmed now. Deidara was behaving in a way he had never seen. He respected his submissive though so he deactivated his sharingan.

"Lay down, I'll bring you something warm to eat." Itachi cupped Deidara's face as he spoke; his lips closed in on Deidara's plump pink ones.

Deidara smiled weakly. He'd do anything for this man. Even risk his own happiness in order for Itachi to have peace of mind. "Thank you, demon." Deidara closed the little space between them and pressed his lips to Itachi's. He groaned with need but fought his urges.

There was no time for that now.

Naruto forced a smile as Sasuke entered the tearoom. Indra and Ashura toddled in front of their father. They were still sleepy; they dragged their feet across the wooden floor as they sat on the pillows arranged around the low lacquered tea table. They always ate breakfast in the dragon tearoom while they always ate dinner in the dining room.

"Good morning, mommy." The twins said in unison. Their usual morning greeting was a huge kiss and a hug but they were up a whole hour earlier than normal. It was part of their punishment for misbehaving the other day. They would be getting up early for the entire week along with restricted playtime.

Ashura yawned as he tiredly poured himself a cold glass of milk from a porcelain pitcher. He chugged it down with his eyes half closed. Indra pushed his wild silver hair out of his eyes as he took a jelly-covered piece of bread and nibbled on it. A genuine smile bloomed across Naruto's lips as he watched his sons eat. His poor babies were so tired. He hadn't wanted to punish them but he had to. What they had done the previous day had almost gotten them hurt. He was usually easy going with his babies, he loved to spoil them but he had to be stern when it was called for.

"Morning, love." Sasuke kissed the top of Naruto's head as he sat beside him. "What's with that worried look?"

Naruto's smile disappeared from his lips. Sasuke could read him so well. He had stayed with Deidara the entirety of yesterday. The both of them had sufficiently exhausted themselves with worrying. It wasn't until the moon came up and Itachi returned that Naruto had to depart from his cousin. Sasuke had already been asleep when he returned to their sleeping chambers. He hadn't been able to tell his mate the somber turn of events. He couldn't now either while his children were present.

"I'll tell you later." Naruto murmured.

"Is it serious?" Sasuke's voice edged with worry. "Tell me, please." Sasuke couldn't stand not knowing what was bothering his love. He'd obliterate any problem that plagued Naruto just to erase that worried crease between his blonde brows.

"It's not me don't worry, my love." Naruto tried to calm Sasuke by smiling. It was forced and he knew his mate could tell. "It's Deidara, he's," Naruto glanced at his children. Ashura's eyes were closed as he chewed and Indra's long hair made a curtain around his face as he looked down at his breakfast. This was the perfect moment. "He's pregnant." Naruto whispered the word. Just incase Sasuke hadn't heard him Naruto cupped his own stomach to simulate the way an expecting mother would hold their own swollen stomach.

Sasuke's eyes widened. Deidara was pregnant? "My brother didn't tell me?"

"Because Itachi-san doesn't know. You and I are the only ones." The situation was grim. Sasuke knew of the seal and it's capabilities but Naruto knew his mate. Sasuke wouldn't be able to quickly piece together what made it such a grim situation.

"Why hasn't he told Itachi?" Sasuke was offended on his brother's behalf. To withhold such information was unheard of. Itachi was going to be a father and he didn't even know it. A pregnant submissive should be bubbling with joy over their pregnancy not hiding it as if it were a thing to be ashamed of.

"Because he didn't want it."

Sasuke was outraged. Itachi's submissive not wanting to birth his child was an insult. It was as if saying that the dominant was unworthy or in other words not strong enough to father your offspring.

"It's not like that." Naruto placed his hand over his alphas. He rubbed his thumb against the pale skin at the back of Sasuke's hand. "He doesn't have the healing seal. He's going to suffer."

Sasuke calmed down instantly. He finally pieced together the gravity of the situation. If Deidara suffered any kind of pain, even the kind brought about by child bearing, Itachi would lose his mind. But there was still hope. "Submissives here don't have the seal either and survive just fine. Since Deidara's not pure blooded maybe the pain won't be as it was for you?"

Naruto's eye lit up. He leaned forward and kissed his alpha's lips. He hadn't thought of that at all. Deidara wasn't a full Uzumaki. He was only Uzumaki in name. His tolerance for pain was probably much higher than a normal pureblooded Uzumaki omega. "You're right!"

"Mommy, can you tie my hair? It keeps getting in my way!" Indra huffed exasperated cutting into the conversation.

"Of course I can, my sweet baby." Naruto smiled fondly at his son, forgetting for a moment about his cousin's situation. "Did daddy forget to tie your hair again?"

Indra glared at his father. His silver brows furrowed, "yes he did!"

"Sorry, Ni." Sasuke apologized to his moody son. On the rare occasions he did ready his sons for the day the simple task really did seem to always escape his mind.

"Daddy's never had long hair so he forgets. Let's not be angry with him okay baby?" Indra's glare softened only the slightest bit. It was the best they were going to get from the infamously always moody baby prince. Naruto went over and sat with his legs bent behind Indra's small form. He took a red silk hair tie he always wore around his wrist for this exact reason and used it to tie Indra's hair into a low ponytail.

"Just cut your hair, Ni," Ashura whined as he chewed, "then you can stop complaining!"

"No! I want my hair long like mommy's!" Indra pouted, his bottom lip jutted out as he huffed angrily.

"I'll just cut it for you then!" Ashura grabbed a silver fruit knife and aimed it at Indra. Indra shrieked. Loud sobs fell from his lips as he put his small hands up in a defensive motion. The four year old was incredibly moody but he was also very emotional. More so than his brother.

Sasuke tsked his tongue at Ashura. "Don't threaten your brother." He opened his hand and nodded his head at the knife in Ashura's hand. "Hand it over."

"Sorry." Ashura placed the knife in the palm of his father's hand. He looked down guilty as he moved the eggs around on his plate. He hated being reprimanded especially by his daddy.

Naruto picked Indra up and sat his baby in his lap as he rocked him back and forth while he cried. "Shh, your brother isn't going to touch your hair." Naruto promised in a calming voice.

Indra sniffled. He eventually calmed down enough to stop the tears. After he was clear headed he was embarrassed by his outburst. Ashura just had a special ability to affect him like no one else could.

Naruto bent over and kissed Indra's wet cheek. Indra raised his head and kissed his mommy back on his lips. He had his hand twined in his mother's long hair the way he always did when he got the chance. Naruto didn't mind. He picked up the piece of jelly toast Indra had been munching on and brought it to his babies lips. Indra took a bite then pushed the bread up to Naruto's mouth so that he could do the same.

Sasuke smiled at the show affection between his submissive and his son. When he was a child such a thing was never allowed. If he cried the way Indra was his father would scold him for being sensitive. Even before the half moon mark appeared on the inside of his palm he was still raised as a dominant. It was expected of him to behave in a certain manner that other kids didn't have to even think about until their tenth birthday. His mother would never even think too coddle him with kisses the way Naruto was. He loved Naruto for many things one of which was the way he was raising their sons. He didn't see them as dominant or submissive-they were just children as it should always be.

"No fair I want a kiss too!" Ashura jumped onto Naruto's lap, effectively pushing Indra to the side. Ashura grabbed his mommy's cheeks and planted a big kiss on his lips.

Sasuke smiled. He reached across the table and pulled Ashura off of Naruto. "Let your brother have a moment with your mother. "

The tearoom door suddenly slid open. Itachi walked in. His shoulders were slumped and he had a worried expression marring his noble features.

"Uncle Ita!" Ashura greeted as he hopped off his fathers lap and ran over to give his uncle a hug. "Are you still taking us to the pond to catch Koi?" Ashura jumped up and down with unbridled excitement. He was still young and therefore acted out on pure emotion. He was far too excited to note the somber look on his uncle's face.

Itachi patted Ashura's silver head and shook his head no.

"Why not? You promised!" Ashura grumbled. His eyes dimmed less blue as his emotions tipped over to sadness. He had limited playtime since the whole dungeon debacle so he had been looking forward to going outside with his uncle.

"Ashura." Sasuke called his sons name. Ashura met his father's eyes. He understood what that stern expression meant instantly. Behave. He crossed his arms and went over to sit on his empty pillow.

"What's wrong brother?" Sasuke already knew the answer but nevertheless he asked. Perhaps Deidara had finally told him?

"It's Deidara." Itachi flagged a maid down. He instructed her to ready a plate of food along with a bowl of soup and a cup of tea. She hurried out the tearoom to complete her assigned task. "He's sick," Itachi looked like the human embodiment of stress, "he won't even let me have a doctor look him over." Itachi had suggested the idea while he dressed. Deidara had adamantly refused. "I don't know what's wrong with him."

"Uncle Dei is sick?!" Indra said worriedly as he sat up. "I wanna see him!"

"Is it cause Uncle Dei is pregnant?" Ashura questioned nonchalantly. The four year old had no idea of the metaphorical bomb he had just dropped. He didn't even know what being "pregnant" was but he overheard his mommy whisper the word as if it were a bad thing so he naturally assumed that was the culprit for his uncle's sickness.

Itachi was silent for a prolonged moment. As if his face had frozen he stood silently as the revelation seeped in. "You both knew?" Itachi stated as he defrosted from his frozen stupor.

Naruto guiltily casted his gaze to the side.

"We barely found out, brother." Sasuke could see the signs of anger encompass his brothers face. He hadn't seen Itachi angry in years. Itachi had once told him that when he had gone on that rampage over Naruto he had let out enough anger to last for years to come. That apparently wasn't the case anymore.

"You still knew before me?" Itachi stated again, as if he were daring them to prove him wrong.

"Yes, we did." Naruto answered, finding his voice. "But only because Dei-"

Naruto didn't get to finish getting his words out. Itachi left the room. Just before he turned his back Itachi's expression was full of hurt but more notably anger.

The anger was misplaced Naruto knew that but he wouldn't intervene...not yet.

Deidara laid his hand over his stomach. The action was unseen due to him being under the covers Itachi had tucked him into before he left. Their baby resided within him; right now as he lay in his bed worrying ceaselessly their child was growing inside him. If he were being honest with himself he wanted this baby more than anything. He wanted to give Itachi the joy of being a father. It was a type of joy that he secretly envied whenever he saw the adoration Sasuke had when he was with his children. Naruto had given Sasuke that fatherly joy and now Deidara had the chance to do the same for Itachi. A small smile twitched upon his lips as he continued to feel at his stomach.

"So you're sick?"

Deidara startled. He hadn't heard Itachi enter their room. He could instantly sense his alphas anger.

"What's wrong?" Deidara sat up against his pillows. He scooted over so Itachi could sit beside him but Itachi didn't budge. "Are you mad at me?" Deidara couldn't even believe he was asking that. The demon never got mad at him. He always called Itachi a demon but it would be more accurate to call him an angel. He was so level headed and always calm. Hid alpha was a godly figure that Deidara secretly worshipped.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Itachi's voice was above a whisper.

"What?" Deidara's voice quavered. He wasn't used to this angry Itachi.
It didn't even feel like he was talking to his sweet alpha.

"You're pregnant."

Deidara felt his stomach drop, he was dumfounded. How did Itachi know? Naruto was the only one he had told; his cousin wouldn't have said anything.

"Why didn't you tell me? Am I not worthy to be the father of your child?" Itachi spat the accusation as if it were a proven truth. "Did you plan on aborting it behind my back?"

"No, how could you say that?!" Deidara cried. Just the thought of Itachi thinking so little of him hurt. "I would never abort our child! How could you even think that? You're more than worthy to be the father of my baby if you weren't I would've never taken you as my mate!"

"Then why keep it from me?!" Itachi hissed. "Why do other people know before me?"

"Because I'm scared, Itachi!" Deidara revealed in a rush, "I never wanted a child because I don't want to cause you any pain!"

"Why would you giving me a child cause me pain?" Itachi sat in the space Deidara had for him. His voice wasn't laced with anger anymore just pure curiosity.

"Because," Deidara hung his head, "I don't have the Uzumaki seal. I'm a Namikaze, I don't have any chakra stored away to help me through my pregnancy. I'm going to suffer, demon. Just like Naruto did."

The rest of Itachi's anger left him in one giant exhale. "You should've told me. He cupped Deidara's cheek, "I've read all about Uzumaki culture. Years ago when I found out my betrothed was an Uzumaki I learned the language of Whirlpool and also read a lot more. You and Naruto are different. You won't suffer like he did." Itachi trailed his hand down under the covers and cupped Deidara's flat stomach. "I won't lie and say it's not going to be hard for me to see you go through difficulties over these next nine months but regardless I'm happy you're pregnant. More than I could even say."

Deidara couldn't help but smile as tears cascaded down his cheeks. He put his hand over Itachi's. His alpha caressing his stomach felt so right. With Itachi with him they could get through anything. He was sure of it. He felt so much regret over suppressing his heats for so long. He should've spoken with Itachi first before he ever dared to consume that poisonous plant.

A knock sounded on their door. It dimmed the special moment between the mated pair.

The door opened and in ran Ashura. Naruto entered with Indra on his hip. Sasuke had gone off to a council meeting already. The Uchiha clan king was always busy. But even if he hadn't been called away he wouldn't have entered his brother's room. Deidara was still in heat and he wouldn't disrespect his brother like that.

"Sorry," Naruto apologized on his impatient sons behalf, "I told him to wait until you gave us permission to enter but he was too excited."

"It's okay." Deidara wiped his tears as Ashura ran to his bedside and set the tray of food down on his side.

"Uncle Ita forgot to take your breakfast so mommy said we could bring it! I put sugar and milk in your tea for you!"

"Awe, thank you, Shu." Deidara smiled sweetly. Ashura jumped into the bed and blew on Deidara's hot tea. After one blow he carefully picked the teacup up and gave it to Deidara. "Mommy said you're pregnant which means your sick. If you drink this you'll feel better!"

Deidara took a sip. He let out an exaggerated exhale as he rubbed his stomach. "I feel so much better thank you, Shu!"

Ashura beamed, he was happy to help. Indra smiled, still in his mother's arms. He was happy to see uncle Dei feeling better.

"Sorry, Dei-nii." Naruto apologized. He didn't have to say it out loud; he and Deidara both knew he was apologizing for not keeping the secret to the best of his abilities. He was glad to see Itachi and Deidara had worked things out. Itachi was not angry at all and Deidara didn't look sick with worry anymore.

Deidara smiled. "I may have overreacted. It's fine."

"Okay let's get going boys." Naruto walked over and plucked Ashura off the bed then set him on his feet. He couldn't carry both twins at once even if he wanted to. "We only came to deliver uncle Deidara his breakfast. He needs the rest of the day to heal properly. Let's get going. We can talk to him once he's feeling better."

Ashura whined but nodded. They bid farewell and the sovereign and the two princes' left the room.

"So you're truly pregnant?" Itachi said with a ghost of a smile on his lips.

Deidara wasn't used to the sound of it. He was pregnant. Hearing Itachi confirm it was odd for him but all the more it was equally thrilling. "Yes, I'm pregnant." Deidara grinned.

Itachi bent and kissed Deidara's stomach over the covers. "I'm happy."

That's all Deidara wanted, his alpha happy and whole.

"Tea, Deidara-san?"

Deidara shook his head. "Itachi doesn't like it if I drink more than two cups." The maid bowed then pushed the cart of tea and sweets out the sun room.

"Itachi-san won't have to know." Naruto picked up his own cup of tea and stretched it over to Deidara. It was the beginning of fall; there was a cold chill in the air. The large rooms in the palace were drafty. Even the sunroom, which was designed with large glass windows to let in as much sun as possible, was still a little chilly. Some hot tea would feel good going down Deidara's throat.

"I shouldn't, I don't want to give Itachi something else to worry about."

Deidara had been pregnant for three months. In that short amount of time Itachi had been concerned with every little thing Deidara did more so than usual. It was to the point where it was extreme. It suffocated Naruto just observing it. The way Itachi would fixate on the littlest thing like how much tea Deidara could have in one sitting was a prime example of the suffocating behavior. It was expected though, Itachi was an alpha and alphas were overly cautious when their mates were pregnant. Some alphas were more so than others but Itachi was probably one of the most extreme examples Naruto had ever witnessed. In truth Naruto was a little envious. Deidara was giving Itachi a child, it was a feat that Naruto desired to do for his own alpha.

"I haven't added sugar yet, it's harmless. Might as well indulge while Itachi-san is away." Naruto winked.

Itachi and Sasuke were away for some business concerning a clan conflict. Itachi had not wanted to go but Deidara had managed to convince his alpha after promising him that he'd stay indoors the entire time he was away.

Deidara scrunched his nose slightly as he took a second to think. His eyes lingered on the steam rising from the priceless teacup. He could feel the warmth. "We won't speak a word of this to him." Deidara wrapped his hands around the glass then sipped the delicious hot liquid as if he were satisfying a great thirst.

Mikoto laughed as she watched her son-in-law practically chug the hot liquid down. "Careful not to burn your tongue, you'll lose sensation in it for days."

"And we all know Itachi-san won't like that, ehh, Dei-nii." Naruto giggled teasingly.

Deidara sputtered. He put his teacup down and sipped in a more pristine manner as he blushed.

"My son was right, pregnancy does suit you." Mikoto complimented. Deidara had gained a calmness to him. He was wild by nature but pregnancy had stilled him. Mikoto could recall when she had first met the blond, he was to be Naruto's handmaiden and now he was part of the Uchiha royal family. The child he produced would carry a title far above the meager one it would've had if Deidara had remained a handmaid. Mikoto was happy. She could not say the same for her husband. In her husbands eyes Deidara was unworthy of Itachi. It wasn't just her husband who thought so. Many of the Uchiha did not like Deidara. Deidara was a submissive male, they didn't believe he should ever give birth. That was a woman's job. They accepted Naruto because he had proven himself as a strong sovereign but sadly he was the only one who was widely approved of. Since Naruto took power male submissives in the Uchiha clan had gained some freedoms like the freedom to live freely as a submissive but the negative prejudice against them still remained. Naruto could only do so much about the ingrained hate against male submissives and unfortunately his cousin was just another victim of that hate.

Deidara's blush reached the tips of his ears. He bowed his head at Mikoto. "Thank you, mother."

"It's true." Naruto said with a wistful smile. He hid his jealousy behind his smiling face. "It's just like great grandma Mito used to say, 'an omega is at their most beautiful when the glow of pregnancy surrounds them.'"

"Grandma!" The twins burst into the room like a ray of light. They were a mess. Their white training ensemble was scuffed up with dirt. Indra's ponytail had come undone so his hair was a wild mess. Ashura's hair was short but his bangs were a tad bit longer. He had a hair tie to hold them out of his face; the little hair peaked up like a small silver bushel at the top of his head. They both looked like they had been rolling around in grass all day.

"How are my favorite, boys?" Mikoto loved her grandchildren. If there was one thing everyone knew of the former queen it was that she was completely taken with the twin princes'. She had always wanted grandchildren. At one point in the past she had feared Naruto would disallow her to have a relationship with them due to her husbands horrible behavior. Since he hadn't Mikoto cherished her grandchildren even more. She spoiled them rotten. "you two get bigger each time I see you." Mikoto visited every week. The twins were growing fast. Mikoto hugged the twins and kissed their chubby cheeks.

"Are you ready? Lets go grandma!" Ashura squeezed out of his grandmothers arms and pulled on her hand to make her stand. Mikoto always went outside to play when she visited. There was no real "playing" on her part. She'd mostly watch as the twins frolicked around the gardens chasing each other or stand by the ponds edge as the twins tried to catch koi. Naruto would usually join them but since Deidara's pregnancy the times he did lessened.

"Not so fast." Naruto beckoned his sons over. Ashura's excitement visibly deflated. He dropped his grandma's hand and walked over to his mother. Indra followed closely behind.

"You both just practiced for an hour, before you drag your grandmother outside to play eat something first." As Naruto spoke he licked his finger and thumbed away a spot of dirt on Ashura's cheek.

"But Kakashi sensei gave us snacks we aren't hungry!" Ashura whined.

"Is that true, Indra?" Indra could not lie to his mother. He was too much of a mommy's boy to ever do so.

"It's true! Kakashi sensei gave us yummy fruits to eat. Cause Ashura started to cry cause he fell while Kakashi sensei was trying to teach him how to position his leg while he kicked but Ashura couldn't do it and fell on his butt!" Naruto nodded along as his son explained. He combed his fingers through Indra's hair to detangle it then put it into its usual low ponytail. "Kakashi sensei said we need more energy so he gave us a snack." Indra huffed a little breath out after his lengthy explanation.

"I see." Naruto smiled sweetly, "Then I guess it'll be perfectly fine if you go outside and play if your grandmother agrees."

"Of course I agree!" Mikoto chortled as the twins jumped up and down with excitement. She stood up and ushered the twins to her side.

"Not too long. It's getting late. Just because your father isn't here doesn't mean the rules change."

"We know." The twins replied in unison. They were well aware. Their mother was twice as strict when their father was away. They wouldn't push their luck.

"Have fun." Naruto kissed both his babies cheeks and waved as they left the sunroom with their grandma.

"You're a good mother." Deidara voiced in a manner that sounded self-conscious. "I can only hope I'll be able to mother my baby the way you do both of yours."

"Of course you'll be a good mother too, Dei!" Naruto could not believe Deidara would even doubt him self. Deidara was one of the people who had helped to raise him. His cousin was six years older than him and watched over him for as long as he could remember. Deidara was perfectly capable of mothering a child. "Don't doubt yourself. You raised me I know you'll be able to raise your child."

Deidara smiled, he rubbed his hand over his belly as the look of self doubt eased off his features. "I just worry sometimes. Itachi is such a delicate soul I worry that I won't be able to take care of him and our child at the same time without neglecting one of them in the process."

"Itachi-san is stronger than you think." Naruto could see the changes in the alpha already. Underneath all that suffocating behavior was a man in the process of changing. It was slow and gradual but Naruto could see it. Itachi was not so sullen anymore. Deidara's love had brought Itachi out of his depression but the child growing inside Deidara was doing so much more for him. Sasuke was skeptical, when Naruto brought the observation up to his alpha Sasuke refuted it. He still saw the sadness in Itachi's eyes, it was an emptiness in his brother that pained Sasuke. He couldn't see it and apparently neither could Deidara. "You don't have to worry about taking care of Itachi, the both of you together will take care of your child. It won't all be on you."

Deidara desperately wanted to believe in Naruto's words but he couldn't.

Naruto could see the lingering doubt on Deidara's face, "Believe in me, they say when an alpha first helps an omega with their heat is when they become a man but in truth its fatherhood that makes them a man. Trust me. You won't have to do it all alone."

Naruto's features turned glum as he thought of his own alpha. He prayed to Kaguya every night for a miracle. For her to somehow instill some chakra into his seal so he could handle another pregnancy but he knew that wasn't possible. It would never happen...

Naruto felt a hand gingerly cover his own.

"Don't cry!" Deidara held Naruto's hand.

Naruto looked up. He wiped at his cheek and pulled his fingers up. They were wet with tears. He hadn't even realized he was crying. He wiped up the tears quickly with his kimono sleeve. "Sorry, I don't know why I'm crying." Naruto laughed to cover up his sadness.

"I've known you you're whole life. Don't lie to me, cousin." Deidara tightened his hold on Naruto's hand. "I know why you're sad. It's cruel what happened to you. But look," Deidara pointed out the window. Through the large windows they could perfectly see Mikoto and the twins playing by the koi pond. The twins were all smiles as they ran around their grandmother. "at least you were able to give your alpha two beautiful children. It's more than enough so don't cry anymore."

Naruto let his tears fall as he watched his babies. Deidara was right, he should consider him self blessed for being able to give birth to two beautiful baby boys but Deidara didn't understand. The pain of not being able to do a basic function that all omegas should be able to do was a wretched feeling. He was grateful though; underneath all the pain he was eternally grateful.

The two omegas sat in silence as they watched the twins play. They were both visually beautiful sitting there as the setting sun lit their faces in a beautiful glow. Their pretty outer appearance perfectly masked the pain and worry eating away at them inside.

Suigetsu had been monitoring the Uchiha family on and off for three whole months. It was harder than he had expected, the guards were numerous and vigilant but he had gathered enough intel to set his plan into motion. His revenge for his brother Haku would start today.

It was midday. The fall weather was brisk. He narrowed his eyes as he watched the twin princes poke a frog with a stick. The red-eyed prince looked away bored as the blue-eyed prince made hopping motions around the frog in a circle. It was the second day of the seven-day cycle, which meant the old Uchiha queen was visiting.

Mikoto was all smiles as she pointed out at a butterfly on a blade of grass to Indra. She was dressed in a dark kimono and had her hair tied into a long braid that cascaded down her left shoulder. Suigetsu glared when he spotted the Uchiha crest imprinted proudly on her kimono collar. He hated the clan with every fiber of his being. The clan that his brother idolized. What was so special about them? They were supposedly the strongest clan in fire country. It was a complete joke to Suigetsu. The Uchihas didn't even compare to Mist. How had his brother become so taken with such a laughable clan? Haku was smart, smarter than even Suigetsu could ever dream to be. And yet this clan had murdered his smart and cunning brother? He was outraged when he had found out. He would've killed the Hyūga bastard he had entrusted his brother too if the Uchiha's hadn't gotten to him first. He had thought his father would've declared war, he expected riots in the streets of the capital and public outcry but none of that happened. His father had chosen to not retaliate. His cowardly excuse was that the Uchihas were too strong of an adversary to take on without the backing of the Hyūgas. The Hyūgas wouldn't even raise a finger to the Uchiha now that their king had died. The great loss of their king had reduced to the equivalent of a kicked dog licking its wounds. The Uchihas also had the backing of Whirlpool. The whole damned country would fight for their emperor's grandson's clan. If they had retaliated it'd be a "suicide" is what his father said. Even his brother Kisame had chosen to stay out of the fight. But Suigetsu didn't believe any of that bullshit coward excuses! Mist was strong. Suigetsu would prove that. He'd start by killing the two princes' then he'd kill the old bitch queen. After that he'd sneak into the palace and slaughter the pregnant bitch and the sovereign. Then when the king and his brother returned he'd lie in wait and kill them too. Oh yes, he'd show them all how strong Mist could be.

"Grandma look I'm a frog!" Ashura exclaimed as he leaped into the air and landed coolly in a crouched over position on his hands and feet. He struck a pose as he pursed his lips in a cocky manner.

Mikoto exaggerated a surprised gasp. "You certainly are!"

Suigetsu had chosen this day to attack because Mikoto was the weakest chaperone the twins had. Even the pregnant blond had chakra levels higher than her. She was the weakest link and therefore the perfect starting point in his planned massacre.

"You look more like a fish than a frog." Indra teased as he put his hands over his head and pretended to swim around his crouched brother.

Suigetsu commenced accelerated chakra flow throughout his body. The water rippled off him as his body began to piece together. His strongest ability was hiding in plain view on the account that he could turn his entire body into water. In his watery form he required no sustenance and could stay in it for as long as he wanted which was how he was able to observe the supposed strongest clan in the North without being found for three entire months.

"Hello, kiddies." Suigetsu stretched his arms as he fully formed. He only left his feet in their watery state so that he could stand on the surface of the pond.

Mikoto screeched. "Who are you?!"

"Who I am doesn't matter you Uchiha swine. I'm here to deliver revenge and you will die first!" Suigetsu turned his hand into water and stretched it over to Mikoto. He formed a bubble of water around her head so he could drown her.

"Stop hurting our grandma!" Ashura yelled angrily.

"Yeah!" Indra grabbed his grandmothers hand in an attempt to pull her out of the strange bubble water but the water followed along in whichever way her body swayed.

Ashura picked up a rock and threw it at the pointy toothed mans head. It struck him right on his forehead.

Suigetsu glared. "I changed my mind," Suigetsu dissolved the bubble around Mikoto. She fell to her knees and fainted. Her face was sickly pale; too much water had entered her lungs. "You'll die first." Suigetsu aimed his hand at Ashura. Before Suigetsu could attack the sound of glass shattering sounded out.

Suigetsu looked around and quickly located the source of the sound. The sovereign had broken through the glass of the sunroom. His hand was glowing in blue chakra. A menacing aura oozed from him. His long blond hair whipped about madly as the air from the blue ball in his palm swirled around him. The skirts of his kimono and the sleeves also moved with the wind. His blue eyes were hooded as he let out a snarl. It was said that Uzumakis were descended from foxes, apparently that was true. The prim and proper sovereign turned into animalistic beast when he was angry.

"Make another move and I'll kill you." Naruto moved across the clearing as he spoke. His rasengan spiked with each step he took.

Suigetsu's eyes narrowed. This was the person who had killed Haku. He smirked. He was going to take his time killing him. Tear him limb to limb and stuff his own extremities down his throat and up his ass. The image was lovely to Suigetsu, he yearned to make it a reality.

"You're just on time to see me kill one of your sons, your majesty. Don't worry you'll get your turn next so don't be mad." Suigetsu surged his water forward but then suddenly he felt a searing pain as he never felt before envelop his arm. His water evaporated away and his skin turned back into flesh. The blue chakra had hit him? But when? He had acted fast, fast enough that the sovereign shouldn't have been able to attack him before his own water landed around the little princes face.

As the shock settled another painful blast was delivered to his other arm. The blue chakra blasted his arm right off. The water was able to partially absorb the first blast to his right arm but his left arm hadn't been transformed. It had taken the full weight of the blast, which had disintegrated it. Suigetsu was attacked again, both his legs were hit he fell forwards into the water and began sinking down.

Naruto stomped over; he walked right into the pond and grabbed the man by his white hair. He pulled him and positioned his rasengan at the base of the man's throat.

"Who are you and why are you targeting my family?"

Suigetsu smiled cockily. Even though he had obviously lost he still wore a victorious expression. It unnerved Naruto. "Answer me or I'll shove my rasengan down your throat!"

"My name is Suigetsu. You killed my brother Haku. No one sent me, I'm here to deliver justice by killing all you Uchiha scum!" Water abruptly bursted from Suigetsu's chest. Like a limb the water circled around Naruto's mouth and nose. Suffocating him. His rasengan flickered as he struggled against the water.

"No, let him go!" Deidara screamed as he ran down the clearing. "Guards! Help! An intruder!"

"Let go of my mommy!" Indra cried. His eyes had turned blood red as he watched the man assault his mother. He couldn't take anymore. His little fist shook as he charged toward the strange man. Energy burst forth Indra's body, he never felt it before. The pain of seeing his most cherished person boosted his chakra. He yelled as his eyes began to burn. He ignored it and punched the man. His fists had become enveloped with tiny balls of fire. As he punched the fire ate away the water protruding from the man's chest. In the next second Ashura was beside his brother. He struck the man with his own blue chakra.

Guards appeared in the blink of an eye. The masked men pulled the twins safely to the side then performed a jutsus that immediately dispelled the water around Naruto's mouth. A patch of paper with a seal on it was placed on the strange mans forehead. The man became still as ice. Naruto's knees buckled. He coughed up water as his eyes teared.

"Take Mikoto-san to the infirmary!"

"The sovereign needs medical attention too!"

"Send a messenger to alert Uchiha-sama of what's happened!"

Indra ignored all the people screaming around him. He sniffled as he hugged his mother.

"Mommy are you okay?!" Indra cried.

"Yes, baby. Mommy is going to be okay." Naruto sucked in gulps of air as he tried to calm down. He had almost died and his children had almost died too. He was panicking, he needed his alpha to calm him down but he needed to be strong. His children were safe that's all that mattered. Naruto stood up on his shaky legs. The water weighed his kimono down, it made it even harder for him to stay standing.

"We need to get you to the infirmary, Naruto-sama! You need immediate medical attention!" A masked guard urged.

Naruto shook his head no. "That won't be necessary. I'm fine. Get my mother in law checked!"

"She's being transported as we speak, Naruto-sama! Please allow us to transport you too. You drank a lot of water. We don't know if the assailant laced the water chakra with poison. To be safe please let a doctor examine you!"

Indra was having a panic attack as he listened to the guard speak. Ashura was just as worried but he was nowhere near the level of fear and panic that Indra was currently at. The word poison stuck out and repeated over and over again in Indra's mind. Poison was bad, that's why they couldn't go near certain flowers or touch certain snakes because they were poisonous! Poison killed you!

"Mommy's going to die!" Indra sobbed. He clung to his mother's wet kimono and buried his head against his thigh.

"I'm not going to die my love, mommy won't ever leave you." Naruto kneeled so he could look at Indra. He gasped when he saw Indra's eyes. Indra was only five...he shouldn't have developed his sharingan this early? Had it just happened?

"Are you okay?" Deidara was out of breath and teary eyed as he kneeled and hugged Naruto. "I can't produce my clay bombs anymore I didn't know what to do! I can't believe this happened!"

"Yeah I'm fine." Naruto picked Indra up. He kissed his baby's cheek and rocked him so he'd stop crying. He'd have his alpha check Indra's eyes over when he arrived later tonight. He didn't trust a physician to examine them. "I need to go check on mother. She's worse off than me. And I also need to get examined too." Naruto touched his throat. It burned from all the coughing but also there was a strange pain radiating in his body. He'd rather be safe than sorry.

Deidara nodded, he picked up Ashura with a little difficulty. Naruto kissed Ashura on the cheek. He was strong willed, he wasn't crying like his brother but he was just as affected. Ashura held in his tears as he threw his arms around his mommy and hugged him. "Mommy will be fine, don't worry my love." Naruto cooed to both his babies.

Naruto straightened up. He glared at the dismembered man who had tried to assassinate him. Suigetsu's four severed limbs were bloody, he made a gruesome sight. He was angry his children had been exposed to this horrendously gruesome image. He'd make sure Suigetsu paid for what he had done.

"Put this Suigetsu person in a dungeon until I decide what his punishment shall be."

"Yes, Naruto-sama. It shall be done." The guards hauled Suigetsu off. The jutsu placed on him would last only a few hours. When it wore off Naruto would pay him a visit but first he needed to deal with his own well being and his children. So much was going on, Naruto could handle it all but it was difficult without his alpha by his side.

He placed his hand over his mating mark and pressed down to mimic the comforting sensation of his alpha kissing him there the way he always would.

"Naruto-sama, please hurry. The doctor needs to check you over!"

Naruto nodded. He hiked Indra up his hip and walked with Deidara into the palace. His sons fingers embedded in his hair were a reminder.

He had to be strong.

I can't believe I made it to chapter seventeen! Woot woot I'm happy I was able to write so much for you all. So I know these last two chapters have been more ItaDei centric but I just want to warn you all that future chapters will be going back to Sasunaru! This is their story after all so its only fair xD

Just to clarify in case anyone is confused the twins are five. Their birthday did pass but was not written about because it wasn't important to the plot. And no I haven't forgot about Fugaku, he doesn't go to the Uchiha palace!

Anyways if you like this story leave a comment! Feedback is always good for a writer I truly want to know what you guys think and if you guys have any plot points that you would like me to write into the story don't be afraid to share them with me ^^
