Nice to finally have this story wrapped up! I know it's been a while, but it was worth completing! I'll have more on "Lucky Marble" after the story is finished, so stay tuned! Anyway, enjoy!
Meanwhile, all the way on the other end of Dimmsdale, two kids were in the middle of beating each other down as Timmy used his teeth to bite down on Chloe's arm. The girl yowled in pain as she glared at the boy. "Oh, you little!"
The platinum blonde sharpened her already chipped teeth as she raised her arm and punched Timmy directly in the face. The boy in the silly pink hat shook his head before narrowing his eyes at the girl as he immediately jumped forward towards her, trying to grab the marble from her hands.
"Let go of it! I need that marble!" Timmy yelled at her as Chloe was struggling to grab the marble away from him.
"No you don't! It's my marble!" Chloe screamed in his face, a little spit falling on Timmy's face.
As the two kids continually fought, Anti-Cosmo continually watched the battle of the marble commence as he sipped some tea, with Anti-Wanda looking rather concerned. "Gee, sweetheart, Ah know we're supposed to be anti-fairies and all, but do you think maybe we... took this a little too far?"
Anti-Cosmo carefully took another sip as he turned towards his wife. "Anti-Wanda, I'm very surprised at you. What's with the sudden change of heart?"
"Don't get me wrong, Ah think that perfect girl and the boy who foils our plans gets what he deserves for the most part. It's just... we're supposed to cause bad luck and misery, not try to kill these kids." Anti-Wanda noted.
Anti-Cosmo looked over at the two fighting kids as he took another sip. "Hmmmm... I suppose you're right. Our little excursion is certainly getting out of hand. Let's just cut right to the chase, shall we?"
With that, both anti-fairies raised their wands up in the air to poof up a banana peel as they threw it over towards the two kids. They then watched as both Timmy and Chloe stepped on the banana peel at the same time during their fight, causing both of them to slip as the marble fell out of their hands and started to roll off. The two stared in shock as they narrowed their eyes.
Quickly, Timmy and Chloe got up as they started to chase after the marble, pushing and shoving each other along the way. They followed the marble up and down some hills, through traffic, and even a dainty walk through the park. Eventually, the chase winded down as the marble kept bouncing along its merry way, until finally, it fell down near the edge of a cliff. Both kids stopped as they looked down and gulped. Their marble was lost somewhere near a dark, dangerous trench. The two of them looked at each other for a moment in pure worry, before narrowing their eyes at each other as they looked ready to jump.
Around that time, Cosmo and Wanda had finally caught up to the two heroes as Wanda gasped. "Timmy, Chloe, no! Don't jump!"
"But the marble is down there!" Timmy yelled at the fairies.
"Yeah, MY marble!" Chloe growled as she and Timmy immediately dived off the cliff. The two fairies gasped in horror as they looked down, watching the two kids.
As Timmy and Chloe were looking determined to dive down towards the trench, reality suddenly kicked in as his eyes widened. "Uh, Chloe? None of us have the marble on us, right?"
"Duh! That's why we're fighting!" Chloe growled at him.
"Well... why did we just jump down there if we don't have good luck on our side?" Timmy asked.
Chloe was about to respond with a sarcastic retort... before her eyes widened in pure horror as she looked down. "Uh-oh."
Timmy and Chloe, their anger temporarily forgotten, hugged each other in fear as they screamed and fell. "AHHHH! I wish we landed somewhere safe!"
Cosmo and Wanda, hearing the wish, happily rose their wands up in the air, causing floating mattresses to appear out of nowhere. Thankfully for the two kids, they jumped up and down on the mattresses, sighing in relief as they continually bounced up and down. The two fairies gave a sigh of relief as they turned towards the two familiar anti-fairies in anger.
Anti-Cosmo looked a little surprise as he crossed his arms. "Oh poo. Seems like you escaped!"
"Yeah, and you have a lot of nerve trying to make Timmy and Chloe miserable because of one stupid marble!" Wanda said, her hair on fire as her eyes glowed red. "Take away the luckiness that marble holds right now, or you will face my wrath!"
Cosmo noted the anger in Wanda's eyes as he yelped. "You better do what she says. I have seen Wanda angry before, she doesn't let people off the hook easily! Especially me!"
Anti-Wanda yelped at her counterpart's angry look as she hid behind a calm and collected Anti-Cosmo. The smart anti-version of Cosmo gave a small sigh as he raised his wand. "Oh, all right, fine. I believe I got the observations I need anyway."
With a wave of the wand, Anti-Cosmo's wand glowed for a minute as he turned to his wife. "Come along, Anti-Wanda, we need to get to the Anti-Fairy Council and give our report back."
"Sure thing, sweetie!" Anti-Wanda saluted as she poofed out of existence, leaving the Earth. Anti-Cosmo prepared his wand as well, before turning to the fairies.
"One last thing before I leave." Anti-Cosmo said. "A word of advice. Just because I'm a family person like you two are doesn't mean we won't be back. Even if little Anti-Poof isn't available to bug you, we can always drop a line. After all, anti-fairies are everywhere. You never know when you'll find bad luck on your doorstep."
With that, Anti-Cosmo poofed away, leaving no trace behind as Cosmo pulled out some boxing gloves, yelling, "Come back here and fight!"
"Cosmo, sweetie..." Wanda said as she put her arm around her husband. "Let's forget about them for now. Let's try to get Timmy and Chloe back, huh?"
Meanwhile, all the way down at the trench, still jumping on the mattress, both Timmy and Chloe said nothing as they looked around and tried to spot the marble. For a long time, they said nothing as they looked at each other in pure regret. Timmy was mostly shameful in how he acted. He couldn't believe everything he had done as he looked towards his friend. "Chloe?"
"Yeah?" Chloe asked in a small voice.
"...I know this probably won't change anything, but after almost falling to my death, I realize that... I haven't been treating you fair. I let my greed and want for something going my way trump over our friendship and..." Timmy said. "I was a real jerk to you. I'm sorry, Chloe. I promise I won't let that stupid marble get in the way of our friendship... if you're still willing to be friends, that is."
Chloe said nothing for a solid twenty seconds as Timmy watched her unreadable face looking down. The boy bit his lip for a moment... before hearing the familiar laugh of his best friend. He looked towards Chloe in surprise as she hopped over to Timmy and rubbed his hair.
"You dope." Chloe giggled. "Of course we're friends. We always will be. To tell you the truth, I guess both of us were a little TOO obsessed with that silly marble. So what if it brought good luck? I met you before I even HAD that lucky marble, and being friends with you was the luckiest thing to ever happen to me."
"You mean it?" Timmy asked in surprise.
Chloe gave a small smile as she leaned over and kissed Timmy on the cheek, making him blush. "Honest and for truly. But I will make sure you forget about that Trixie girl. You have a LOT to make up for..."
"Yeah, yeah, I know..." Timmy said as Cosmo and Wanda appeared next to the two as he looked up. "There you are, Cosmo, Wanda. Where have you guys been?"
"Would you believe we've been caught in a butterfly net by the anti-fairies?" Cosmo asked honestly as Timmy and Chloe looked up to him in surprise.
"The anti-fairies?" Chloe asked in confusion. "You mean, Foop?"
"No, not Foop this time. Actually, Anti-Cosmo and Anti-Wanda." Wanda explained, much to Timmy's surprise.
"Wait, what?" Timmy asked in confusion as Chloe cocked her head, just as confusion.
After Cosmo and Wanda got Timmy and Chloe back to ground and were heading on back to their homes, the two listened to the fairy birds's story as Timmy looked a little surprised. "So, wait... the marble was never lucky at all? It was just charmed to be filled with good luck by the anti-fairies?"
"Pretty much, sport." Wanda confirmed. "Everything bad luck and good luck related that happened to you two was all because of the anti-fairies."
"So... that lucky marble was... just a plain, ordinary marble." Timmy said, looking down in disappointment. "I guess I got a little crazy for nothing."
"Not nothing, Timmy. You learned quite a valuable lesson about friendship." Chloe giggled. "Heck, I did too, in a way."
Timmy paused as he looked up at the evening sky, giving a small smile. "You know, I suppose when you look at it this way, I guess you're right... you know what? How about we have a little card game tonight? No luck involved! Just a fair game of cards between the two of us?"
The platinum blonde girl in the yellow dress smiled as she held Timmy's hands. "I'm down for that. What card game are we doing?"
"How about a game of poker, just the two of us? Cosmo, Wanda, you're free to join in, if you'd like." Timmy smiled. "No luck involved."
The fairies paused as they looked at each other, and gave a grin as Cosmo pulled out some poker chips. "Deal us in, Timmy! We'll be more than happy to play! Uh... poker is the game where you ask if we have any threes, right?"
Timmy, Chloe and Wanda just laughed as they decided to head on home, forgetting about the marble that resided in the trench from here on in. After all, who needed luck when friendship can easily trump luck any day of the week?
Orange Ratchet Story
"That's All, Folks!"
An Orange-Ratchet Fanfiction
And that is it for this story! How did you guys like it? Let's get to the final thoughts!
This story was a bit inspired by an episode of a TV show where two friends got obsessed over, you guessed it, a lucky marble, and I wanted to portray that same story sense in this one. Also, since this was 2016, the year Chloe was introduced, I knew I wanted to use a classic Fairly Oddparents villain that the show itself hadn't used in a while, and Anti-Cosmo and Anti-Wanda were perfect for antagonists. But the story was really all about Timmy and Chloe's friendship, and how one little marble can easily challenge said relationship. I had a little fun with this story overall, and I hope you guys enjoyed reading this just as much. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
Anyway, thank you all for reading, and have a very wonderful day!
