Walking Dead Wizard

Chapter 97

"Shit!" Harry cursed, feeling two hands disappearing from him, he knew without a doubt who it was, Merle, Luna and Daryl would never let go when he'd told them to. They were surrounded by damn walkers…why the hell would they let go? Frustration bubbled within him, he could have done without this sort of thing right now. Merlin damn it! "DUCK! FIENDFYRE!" praying that they would bloody listen this time, twirling his wand around, aiming for the walkers, keeping the fire consciously away from his people.

A sudden bellow of pain had Harry turning, the cursed fire sizzling just passed Axel, but too late, the walker had already latched on and done the damage despite the fact it's entire body had been incinerated. Carl, smart boy, grabbed it by it's hair and thrust his blade into the brain preventing any further accidents. The fire raged away, not entirely under Harry's control, but he quickly fought and regained his control, thankfully, otherwise it would have hit the building that Andrea, Amy and Sophia was in.

Harry swallowed thickly, closing his eyes for a brief second, heartache thrumming through him, how many more people was he going to lose today? Was today the day they all breathed their last because of his own stubbornness and not getting the other wizards involved? He was not used to this indecision, and he hated himself for it.

"You alright?" Carl asked, standing at his back, protecting Axel.

"I think we both know I'm not," Axel grunted, he'd never treated Carl like a kid, he didn't intend to start now, his hand was over the bite on his shoulder. He was living on borrowed time now, it was his own fault, he knew if he hadn't let go…Harry would have been able to Apparate them out of there, so if anyone else was bitten it was on him. He was going to pay for his stupidity…with his life.

"Incoming gun fire! Duck!" Axel barked, seeing the guns pointed at them and knowing what to say when it was a gun situation, they all had gone through the same training.

Just like that the cursed fire was gone, and a simmering dome was fired up, keeping them protected. Axel watched the bullets slow and fall to the ground, it was like a scene out of one of those movies he'd watched while in prison. The Matrix, if he recalled correctly, and it was amazing, he'd never been envious of magic…always grateful for it and more so today than any other day. It was just too bad it couldn't heal him from the bite…and it couldn't have happened in a more difficult position if it tried.

He wondered if the directors of those kinds of movies knew about magic or were magical themselves.

"Friendlies on the roof," Merle barked, as he shot out another round, noticing that bodies were crumbling from shots fired above.

"Not friendlies, ours," Harry confirmed, taking another shot, Carl was diligently taking care of what was left of the walkers, staying within the dome. "They must have got themselves free…" either that or they'd distracted their kidnappers at the most opportune time.

Axel grimaced as he shot another round, using his left hand, not as easily done but thankfully he hit his targets. He was a righty, but his right side was throbbing in agony, he was flushed with sweat and fear but he didn't have that fever yet, but he knew it would come. He was afraid, he wasn't ashamed to admit it, he was terrified of dying, but there was a comfort in knowing he would be missed, mourned…if he'd died at the prison he wouldn't have been. Strange thing to take comfort in, but there you go.

"Andrea!" Harry called out, wincing in phantom pain, "Sophia!" it turned into a growl of fury, his magic reacting to his extreme emotions.

"Go! I've got this!" Luna urged him to get to them, "Take Daryl,"

Daryl didn't even give Harry a second to deny him, he gripped his shoulder, ready to go with him. They were always on the same wavelength, could always predict himself and Luna with accuracy. They had worked so closely together for a very, very long time, so it was no surprise.

Feeling Amy being hit, Harry didn't waste a single second more, before following their trail, both of them ended up on the roof.

Daryl didn't waste a second in dispatching the three stunned saviours at the sight of magic being performed.

"Sophia?!" Harry barked, rushing over to her, terrified beyond belief. He couldn't lose her, couldn't return to P.A and tell Carol he had failed to protect their daughter. Sophia was his daughter in all but blood, he'd protected her, loved her, comforted her, trained her to the best of his abilities.

"I'm fine, I'm fine it's just a shoulder wound, they were hit more serious," Sophia stated firmly, "Help Andrea and Amy," if she didn't know any better she'd think they hadn't wanted to kill her but had wanted to dispatch of Amy and Andrea…which might be possible.

Harry nodded, making his way over to Andrea and Amy, carding his hand through their hair. "You're both going to be just fine," with that he pressed their portkeys to activate and stepped back. He did not have his trunk with him – today of all days – so he had nothing he could give them to make this better until they all returned back to PA. Hopefully someone would be able to keep them alive until they all returned to base. His stomach churned, fuck, this entire day had been one where the damn hits just kept on coming.

Just after getting Andrea and Amy away, the entire rooftop flooded with people, Daryl automatically stood in front of Harry and Sophia. Green eyes glittering dangerously, as he watched the advancing of the group. Not concerned at all, he would have been if they didn't have magic at their disposal.

Merle and Luna joined them not a few moments later.

Sophia herself, urged the two frightened Morales behind her, they were terrified.

One in particular swaggering out of the group of people. In his hand he had a baseball bat loosely held, which was wrapped in barbed wire, that honestly couldn't help deal with and dispatch walkers…then he remembered, "You must be Negan," Harry said, staring at the son of a bitch, he'd killed one of his own, a wizard, a young boy, let's not forget what he had done to the rest of Hilltop and the Kingdom people.

"You seem to have me at a goddamn fucking disadvantage," Negan said, leaning back, almost to the point he looked ready to topple over. Not at all concerned about the presence of the three of them if anything he looked entirely too comfortable. Although he did frown at the lack of fear his presence was failing to inspire.

Then again, he had no idea what Harry was capable of.

"I hope you've set your affairs in order," Harry said coolly and calmly, "You took my people, you shot at my people…nobody does that and survives."

Negan laughed, raising his hands gesturing around him as if to say, 'Yeah, and who's army' clearly not taking Harry's threat seriously. "Just how are you going to do that?" a deviously wicked smirk on his face, the others cocking their guns at them, ready to fire the moment Negan gave the go ahead. "On your knees, now," there were only five of them, one injured against dozens of himself. They didn't stand a chance. He didn't include the two Morales kids.

Harry just smirked in amusement, knowing better than to indulge psychopaths, a single wave of his wand, and every single person there, arched ungracefully in the air, before slamming back down, arms and legs tied by invisible magical string keeping them bound.

Merle barked out an amused laugh, "Damn, b…laddie," nearly calling him boy again. "I like that spell," he couldn't help but grin in savage amusement seeing the panicked disbelief on all their faces, "Almost as good as the cursed fire." Which was what he called it, despite being more than aware of it's true name.

"What are you?" Negan asked, this sort of shit shouldn't be possible. The thought of having someone like him on his side…filled him with all sorts of possibilities. "I have a doctor that can see to your wounded…medicine to heal them…food to eat…" in a desperate bid to get free and have this being on his side.

"You have a captive that could see to my wounded, you used to have medicine and food, yes," Harry said wryly, his amusement unhidden. "You're pathetic attempt at freedom and to get me onside is…ridiculous really, is that the best you can do? Is that all it took for you idiots to sell your souls?" looking around at the panicked faces still trying to get out of their bindings. He truly couldn't blame them for wanting to live, but to change who they were…it was expected in this world he supposed.

"What are you going to do to us?" came the panicked voice that Harry zeroed in on.

Harry stared blankly at the kid, he looked barely twenty years old, he asked a good question. What the fuck was he going to do with them? When the kid met his eyes, he delved into his mind, to try and see if there was anything of him worth saving. What he saw made him want to vomit.

"Well, that's a rather crude method of mind manipulation I've ever seen," Harry grimaced, easing out of his mind shuddering a little. None of them were salvageable, they'd sold their souls to the devil himself, there was nothing left of them.

"Mind manipulation?" Sophia asked clutching her wounded shoulder, narrowing in on Harry's statement. "What was he going to do to us?" not that they would have gotten that chance, she knew come hell or highwater that Harry had ever intentions of coming for them.

"Oh, no, that's not what he had in mind for you," Harry shook his head, grimacing, "For any of you girls." Ignoring the protests to let them go, and whatever else they were saying, Harry was blotting it out.

Sophia blanched, she was far from a young child anymore, and unlike Carl…she hadn't been kept 'innocent' from the darker world they were in now. Carol had made sure that her daughter understood the real dangers of the outside, and why never to give mercy to anyone. How many people had he hurt? Raped? Forced to follow him out of fear of his own life? For the first time in her life, she wanted to kill someone in cold blood…not retaliation or to save herself.

"Sick bastard, even Voldemort wasn't that bad," Luna scowled, giving the Muggle a look of utter disgust. "There can only be one sentence for him." he wouldn't be allowed to live, of that she was certain, Harry wouldn't allow it.

"Merle, Luna, pick off the last few strays," Harry told them, "And gather every one else in the hall, it's time for a regime change." The outcry started up again and Harry silenced the lot of them he wasn't interested in listening to any more of their racket.

Luna and Merle immediately left to do as asked, weapons already held aloft.

Now what to do with them, Harry thought staring at the Muggles…how to deal with them might be a better question.

A sudden gunshot had Harry whipping around, only to halt when he realized it had only been Sophia.

Turning back, he found Negan dead from a bullet wound to the head.

"Damn," Daryl muttered, "Carol's going to kill us,"

Harry barked out an amused huff of laughter, shaking his head, "It's not her first kill," which was true enough, she'd already taken out at least five Saviors before the gunshot he deduced.

"Whatcha going to do with em?" Daryl asked, gesturing towards the group of suddenly terrified Saviors, who didn't look all that confident. Realizing they were being faced with a bigger and badder kind of predator. That's exactly what Harry and Luna were and by association, Merle and Daryl.

"I need to get back to Axel, Andrea and Amy, kill them all," Harry declared, showing no mercy, for they had shown none to others. To deal with this…they had to not only cut the head of the snake…but the entire body too so to speak. If he left even one alive…the process would just start all over again, they were suffering from a unique cocktail of Stockholm syndrome. He didn't even know if he could fix them…they were broken beyond repair, their minds a mess it was awful. It was sort of like they were suffering from Multiple Personality Disorders, with one – their real identity – just broken beyond repair with 'Negan' at the forefront constantly.

Each of them began mouthing and pleading, begging for Harry not to kill them, to let them go, that they would do no further harm. All useless sentiments since Harry could see into the heart of them, quite a few were clamouring to take over from 'Negan' and do things their way.

Inhaling sharply, "Look away," he ordered, not even glancing back to see if they would, he'd warned them and if they didn't heed it then they'd have to learn there was a reason for everything he said. Waving his hand again, the Muggles rose in the air and Harry closed his eyes, but it didn't stop him hearing the crunching of the spine as their heads arched to the side, as they were given a mercy kill with a broken neck.

Daryl predictably didn't, watching the scene in front of him with an impassive look on his face. He understood the need for it, and knew no mercy couldn't be given…especially if Harry didn't believe it could be. He could see into the very heart of them, and would know better than anyone else.

Louis and Eliza cried out in shocked fearful terror, unaware of Harry's magic unlike everyone else. They had left the group after the first walker attack at the Quarry. They were quite rightfully terrified, it was not a good introduction to magic at all. They were staring at Harry in complete and total fear.

"Come on, let's go find your parents," Sophia urged the two, treating them like young children, despite the fact Louis was the same age as her and Eliza just a few years younger. Grimacing at the pain in her shoulder, only for it to disappear with a flick of Harry's wand, who gripped her tightly by the shoulder.

"Head back, I'll be there in a bit," Harry told her, as always Daryl was at his back.

"LOUIS! ELIZA!" came the panicked frantic voice of Mrs Morales as she scrambled to find her missing children.

"MAMA!" came the two quick replies, making an aborted move to go to her, only to realize there was bodies in the way.

Harry waved his wand yet again, transporting each of them to the Dragon Sanctuary, where his two beautiful thriving dragons were growing more happy and stronger by the day. That would definitely do them for the day, the bastards didn't deserve funerals. The Dragons would happily snack on them, and wouldn't need further food for at least a day or two.

She must have heard them and quickly made her way up, freezing when she saw very familiar faces. "Harry…" anxiety thrumming through her, she remembered him, remembered that her son and daughter had adored him, he always bought things for them. Surely he wasn't going to hurt them now? "Please…they have nothing to do with this…" she begged, her accent barely discernible.

Harry blinked stupefied by her fear, before he realized what she said, "I have no intention of hurting them," he told her his tone softening considerably. She'd been through hell and back, treated as a lesser being by these fuckers, and been helpless against the men who had raped her while her husband was unable to do a damn thing, lest they risk their kids. He was suddenly more than glad that he had killed every single one of them. It was disgusting that they couldn't keep themselves in check. "You have nothing to fear from me or anyone here with me."

She nonetheless shifted around them until she got to her daughter and son and hugged them close almost sobbing in relief.

"Go down to the hall, the others will all be there," Harry stated firmly, if there was even a hall, Luna would have gotten his meaning though, the biggest possible place they had to gather everyone in the same room. Well, the Kingdom people and Hilltop would be pleased to know the threat to their lives was no longer alive.

He'd messed with the wrong people…wrong woman, he amended, glancing at Sophia, who was just as strong and resolute even with a bullet in her. She was…his pride and joy, and he prayed that the child he was carrying had an ounce of her strength…but considering who the fathers were…it probably wouldn't be called into question.

Merlin, he was going to have a kid, it almost made him panic but he pushed it down. He was always good at that, pushing away unwanted emotions. He wasn't alone, he would have Luna, Merle and Daryl to help him, he'd done alright with Sophia…this kid would be just fine.

"You alright?" Daryl asked, pressing himself against Harry, well able to read Harry, and had been able to do so for a long time.

"Yeah, lets get this over with," Harry declared, "I want to get home," truer words had never been spoken, his people were injured, remaining here longer than necessary felt so very wrong. Following the feel of Luna and Merle, and making quick work of the place he had never been in before. Certainly giving the appearance that he had.

Harry heard rather than saw everyone else following, Daryl was tense and alert, walking right next to him, to ensure no surprises happened upon them. Louis and Eliza were whispering frantically to their mother, and everyone knew what was likely the subject. Harry.

It took three more minutes before Harry caught sight of Merle, and not farther along, Luna.

"They've been dealt with," Merle said, eyes gleaming darkly, as Harry approached. Trying to hide from a witch was a stupid idea, and each of them had died regardless of their attempts to hide, pathetic cowards that they were. Luna had made sure that none of the 'Saviors' had tried to blend in with the crowd, those that had well…they were swiftly and mercilessly dealt with. "Carl and Axel are dealing with the rest that's left on the grounds." Giving him information he was probably just about to ask.

Harry nodded, "How many?" gesturing towards the hall.

"Have a look," Luna told him, in leave of an answer, quite frankly it wouldn't be an easy task to guess just how many people were there. "I'll go and get Axel and Carl," she added, and with that Merle and she left, Carl and Axel had no way to find them without actually looking everywhere for them.

Harry tensed but nonetheless stepped in, the metal loud under his feet, as he stared down from his little lofty perch. This place reminded him of the prison, dozens upon dozens of people, all of them utterly terrified. He just stared at them all, his mind utterly blank on what to do about it. So many people…all of them broken just a little under Negan's rule…they needed someone to help them recover…a safe place…one that wasn't here…with someone who genuinely cared.

The sound of footsteps had Harry glancing back to notice Carl, Axel, Merle and Luna had returned. Carl had a firm grip of Axel, despite being smaller than him, not a single complaint could be heard. A small fond smile appeared on Harry's face, faced once again with the realisation that they were growing up, they were no longer teenagers…they were mature adults.

Fully capable of looking at themselves, his work with them was done…they would be just fine without him.

Just like his baby would be in future he determined, and that fear he'd felt tricking at the back of his mind, faded away like ribbons in the wind.

Harry turned back around, and stepped forward, until he was clearly visible from the metal walkway, clearing his throat, and at once everyone looked at him. "Hello, my name is Harry Potter, I'd just like to tell you that all the Saviour's guards and Negan…are dead." a group of rather well dressed woman all sagged as if their string had been cut. Clearly relieved beyond belief at the news…Harry knew who they were…Negan's 'Wives' not only had they lost 'Negan' but they had probably lost their husbands too, many of them had been married to Negan's 'Saviors' before the world ended. Negan was a sadistic piece of shit, he was glad he was ended.

"I am sorry for those of you who have lost your husbands again today," Harry said sombrely, and it was losing them again, no doubt they realized their husbands or boyfriends weren't the same after joining Negan. The mindfucks made him sick to his stomach. Seeing the tears made him even more sick, but it had to be done. "The question remains, do you wish to continue making a life here…or would you prefer to do it elsewhere? There are other communities out there that would welcome you. I will return tomorrow for those who desire to live elsewhere."

"They'll need some order…there will be mass panic otherwise," Axel pointed out, sweating copiously. "Taking weapons and food…carnage…" as bad as it was…there had been order in the prison, always, even when they were locked away from the rest of the population – which had ultimately saved their lives – but not for long and not from Harry for a few of the others who had been…unsavable.

Harry arched a brow, nodding in agreement, "What do you suggest?" he asked, his heart twinging at the sight, he didn't want to lose Axel…but then again…he might not need to…this was his chance to test the Phoenix tears…it might just save Axel's life.

"They need someone to take the lead," Axel said, leaning against the wall so that he didn't cause Carl to topple over. The teen had been a strong stalwart presence next to him since he was bitten. Keeping him safe, propped up, not leaving him behind. He would have to soon, he had been bitten.

"Susan?" Luna suggested, cocking her head to the side.

Harry nodded slowly, "Alright, go ahead, but hurry, Andrea and Amy don't have long," he could feel it. Which meant they weren't getting the help they needed, or worse…weren't getting aid at all despite all his efforts.

Twenty minutes later Harry was finally back at P.A having given Susan a quick rundown of all that happened. Lavender and Blaise had followed her, sticking to her side like glue. The three agreed to stay there and assist, all three awed over Harry's rather…awe-inspiring speech. Then it was the 'Saviors' group when Harry disappeared with a loud pop with a group of people.

Harry grabbed Axel's broad unhurt shoulder, and began dragging him in the direction he knew Andrea and Amy were at. "Sophia follow," he ordered, "Accio trunk!" pointing his wand at his door, uncaring of the almighty smash it caused. By now people were realizing there was something seriously wrong, and all silently watching, some following. One even informing Carol that her daughter appeared injured.

Axel winced, "Easy, I'm coming," he muttered out lowly, unable to help the hiss of pain that followed, each move, was crippling agony, despite not moving his shoulder and the spell Harry put on it, whatever it was meant to do.

"Sorry, but time is of the essence here," Harry said apologetically, but still remaining firm and keeping Axel's moves quick. If he could save Axel's damn life he would do it, even if it meant using the last of the phoenix tears…not that he would be, he believed there was still a lot more left…less so once he was done healing Andrea and Amy as well as Axel. The Triple A.

"What do you mean?" Axel asked, confusion lancing him as Harry ducked into his trunk, unlatched it and brought out his potions supply, "There's nothing that can stop the bite from killing me," refusing to allow his hope to bloom…or trying to at any rate. Harry would never lie about something as serious as this.

"I've never lost anyone to the bite, and the bite is in a place where I can't just cut off the limb…this is the first opportunity I've had to test it. The phoenix tears may save your life, but I cannot guarantee it, Axel, it's a test, just a test," green eyes gleaming with sadness. He wished he could tell Axel he'd survive but he would never do anyone the discourtesy.

"Which means going into isolation for a few days," Daryl added, telling him what Harry hadn't yet.

"SOPHIA!" Carol called out, nearly hysterical at the thought of anything happening to her daughter.

So will the phoenix tears heal Axel or will that be another funeral that PA will have to attend? next chapters will be about PA and settling in and making connections with others all across the world and Harry's little bean of course ;) yes there wasn't a long drawn out battle with Negan I know but he's Mundane there was never going to be :D it's vastly different from how I originally saw it playing out...I had decided to have Harry reveal magic to everyone at the point where Glenn and Abe would have died LOL but as usual the muses are ever changing...I hope you enjoyed it and aren't too disappointed in the fact Negan barely said a few words...I might go back over it but I doubt it...R&R please
