2Chapter 5: Preparations
While Batman and his team work onto something, Killer Moth and Firefly celebrated their teamwork and gained respect from the many Batman villains. Both even plan to take this villain level further. How will it go? Answer lies here in this chapter.
A few days later...
(Gotham Biological Labs. 4:38pm)
This lab houses genetic mutations to test on random creatures as a way to improve their longevity and, "IOOM!" As always, villain attack and from the hole that was made from the explosion, the flight duo emerged. "We have what we came for partner. Let's take flight before-" Firefly's words were cut short when gunshots rang out. Killer Moth made use of his armour as it is bulletproof and shielded his partner. "You know what to do." Firefly got the message and hurled an incendiary grenade and an fiery explosion was heard. "Nice. Let's fly." The duo took flight but as they flew out, something grappled onto both of their legs. "What the-" They looked down to see Nightwing holding a twin-grappling launcher. He pulled them down crashing them onto the ground. "What you have stolen, return it back." Nightwing ordered. They got up and laughed. "Ha! Ha! Ha! Where's the bat?"
"Busy with other crime fighting stuff Moth." Nightwing fibbed.
"Well what a coward he is. Defeating you will be as easy as how I defeated your mentor!" Killer Moth opened fired his laser gauntlets while Firefly spewed fireballs from his flamethrower. Nightwing acrobatically dodged all the projectiles, took out his twin short staffs and whacked the villains in close combat. Both were knocked off but they quickly took flight and, attacked from above. "Been wanting to test something new on these weapons." Nightwing then threw his twin short staffs at them and they dodged it. "Ha! He missed!" Firefly stated. "Oh really?" Nightwing asked pointing behind. They turned behind and, "THWACK! THWACK!"
As they crashed down, Nightwing caught his staffs when they arced to him. "I should thank Alfred for adding this upgrade in my weapons." He then saw the villains getting up. "You are a pain in my neck now." said Killer Moth. Then, from his flight suit, his moth drones were deployed and they flew to Nightwing.
He got ready as all 3 of them got their scythe blades and engaged Nightwing in melee combat. Despite their swift attacks, Nightwing successfully struck all 3 of them down and they were destroying into pieces of scrap. But, "They've escaped. Those drones were a diversion for them to take flight and escape." Nightwing thought. "But also, what did they steal?"
Later...
It cuts to the Mothcave as, "This thing...what does it do partner?" Firefly asked pointing at a test tube containing some brownish green vial that Killer Moth is holding onto. "It's gonna make my little pets stronger and more dangerous." Killer Moth replied as he got to work. Having some decent level of genetic engineering since his time of making himself reborn, he can be seen experimenting on the vial by using a syringe to collect some of it. He then went to his computer pressing a button and in the centre of the moth cave, a containment cell rose up and a moth is only seen fluttering about.
"That's it?" Firefly asked. "Just a few more touches." He installed the test tube into the cell as the vial was converted into gas which was released. Killer Moth waited for 3 seconds and sealed the cell in which he only released a small portion of the vial. As for the moth, it fluttered into the gas and the next thing it happened, it grew in size, sprouted out scythe blades from it's front legs and turned monstrous!
"Wicked." Firefly exclaimed. "Good thing we stole a lot of those vials. Enough to mutate a swarm of moths. I'll have them all awakened to their full strength, have them destroy Gotham and use it's destruction to our advantage!" Killer Moth revealed. "Cool! I bet they can leave openings for us to loot and get even richer!" Firefly exclaimed. "That's right! Not even Batman and his sidekick can stop a swarm of mutated, monstrous moths! AHAHAHAHA!" Killer Moth laughed menacingly and after that, he and Firefly fist bump. "We will execute the plan in a week. First, we need to move these." He keyed in a few buttons and the containment cell containing the monster moth went down and then, another one emerged from another area on the floor revealing cocoons. "Dude, they're still in cocoon mode. How are you gonna mutate them?" Firefly asked. "The vial I tested just now is on gas form. I'll use it's liquid form to do so! In this form, it'll evolve them to it's final stage and mutate them at the same time! They'll burst from below and bring in the chaos and destruction Gotham!" Killer Moth replied. "Wicked. But also, they have to be awakened together right?" Firefly brought up. "That's right! I have come up with a device that will inject the vial into the cocoon to speed up their morphing and mutate them at the same time. These devices will be all linked to a controller that I shall work on and pass it to you." Killer Moth explained. "So, do the vials morph your pets instantly?" Firefly asked. "Unfortunately, I found out the vial in liquid form needs time to awaken them while in gas form, it takes only several seconds." Killer Moth explained. "Not to mention I've stored these cocoons for some time during my rebirth training."
"Okay...this plan could really work! You have my aid partner." Firefly assured to him as they fist bump and made preparations tinkering with some electronics and making plans on where the cocoons wil be stowed into, how long they'll be awakened to their full and monstrous form and how they can defend them from any attack in case either Batman, Nightwing or the GCPD find out about their master plan. Lots of work to do in the preparations.
At the same time...
"Alfred."
"Yes Master Bruce?"
In the Batcave, Bruce has unveiled something new. Blueprints. "It seems you're gonna take it to the next level I see?" Alfred guessed. "Killer Moth sure was reborn but for my case, I'm just gonna level up to his level, take him down and bring him to justice." Bruce and Alfred then took a look at the blueprints. It has the design, schematics and the layout on a new, armoured battlesuit. "I guess we have to work to do now Master Bruce."
"All preparations will be complete soon Alfred. Let's do this!"
Oh my. I can't believe this was left out. Oh well, got it done and at least I still have the ideas stored in me. Anyway, sorry for the long wait. Got busy with some stuff lately. I got focused on my Duckburg High Adventures story which was my main focus for some time and army life.
Anyway, I'm still continuing the story. I think I have 2 to 3 chapters left to finish this and then, maybe move to another DC Comics story. Also based on the DCAMU just like this one (If you all don't know, it stands for DC Animated Movie Universe. You know, Son of Batman, Batman VS Robin, Batman Bad Blood and so on). For the other story I'm planning, should be a sequel to Batman Bad Blood or something. I better get back to the planning board just in case.
So yeah, I'll try to update this story at least. It's not gonna be forgotten so don't worry. See you again in the next update!
