Chapter 24: Opening the Blind Eye
Dipper was pacing in his room. He wasn't sure what to do after the laptop was a dead end.
There was a lead but he wasn't sure if Amelia would agree to it any time soon.
"Hey! Dipper…" said Amelia going into the room.
"What is it?" asked Dipper.
"I was wondering if you still wanted to ask Grandpa." Said Amelia.
"You mean it?" asked Dipper.
Amelia nodded.
"Thank you! Thank you!" said Dipper.
"But remember we need to ask him delicately." Said Amelia.
"I know." Said Dipper.
"Hey! Guess what!" cheered Mabel holding an old green bottle.
"You have trash?" guessed Dipper.
"No! It's a letter from Mermando! You remember him part fish part shirtless guy." Said Mabel.
"Oh course I remember him." Muttered Dipper.
The fact he had to give reverse CPR to the merman still bothered him.
"Well he sent a letter! Oh do you think he wants to get back together?" asked Mabel.
"Don't get your hopes up." Said Dipper.
"Hopes already up!" cheered Mabel.
Both of them sighed when she said.
She began to read the letter.
"Dearest Mabel, so far so good." Said Mabel, "It's with a heavy hart… so far so good!"
Both Dipper and Amelia looked at each other.
"To tell you I'm getting married…" yelled out Mabel as she read the letter.
"Oh Mabel!" said Amelia.
"Queen of the Manatees! Preventing an undersea war!" yelled Mabel.
She looked at the picture of his new fiancé.
Which was a manatee in a dressed.
"Oh Mabel…" said Amelia, "You'll find someone eventually."
"It's not just that… it's just that every single summer romance has been a bust." Said Mabel as she took out her summer scrapbook.
She showed off her scrapbook of her failed romances.
"Maybe it's because you've been trying to force it." Said Amelia.
"I'm going to talk to Marina about this." Said Mabel, "She is the love expert."
"She has never gone on a date." Reminded Dipper, "Anyways were going to talk to Amelia's grandpa. You want to come along."
"All right!" cheered Mable knowing that would be good way to get her mind off everything.
In Serena's room the other girls were hanging out.
"Wow Marina you seem happy." Said Serena.
"Things have been right for me lately, with Gideon in jail and I'm getting along with my parents and me taking the over the tent. Everything's perfect!" said Marina.
"Hey, we're asking Amelia's grandpa what he knows." Said Dipper.
"About time." Said Lila.
They got to the gift, and saw that Wendy and Soos were bickering about a popular song.
Soos started to take off his pants.
"What are you doing Soos?" asked Serena when they entered.
"That stupid song is telling him to eat his pants!" said Wendy.
"You want to help us with Grandpa?" asked Amelia.
"Are you sure having more people there would be a good idea?" asked Dipper.
"I don't know…" sighed Amelia.
"Should I call Darien just in case?" asked Serena.
"I don't know maybe…" said Amelia.
"Come on!" said Dipper.
With that Wendy, Soos and Hotaru.
"Wait… why are you joining us again?" asked dipper at Hotaru.
"Stan's Vegas trip." Said Hotaru, "I'm still angry with him about that…"
IT was a recent trip he took with that old prospector statute… better not known what happened, it was really weird.
But Hotaru had to help him and she wasn't up for dealing with him for a while, even if she had to.
They all stuffed into Soos' truck and drove to the dump where Lee and Nate were vandalizing his hut with "McGucket!"
"He got me good." He lamented.
That was when he saw the group.
"Oh Amelia! And her friends!" he cheered, "Come in! Come in!"
They entered the hut.
"You were just in time for my argument with the hillbilly what lives in my mirror!" said McGucket.
"Grandpa…" sighed Amelia, "There's something we need to ask you."
"What about?" asked McGucket.
"Do you remember anything about when you first moved here and who you helped?" asked Amelia.
McGucket sighed, "I don't' remember nothing from before moving here." Said McGucket, "Or even past a certain day…"
"Are you sure?" asked Dipper he took out the journal, he knew while McGucket wasn't the author he did have ties to him, "Maybe this might jump start your memory."
He showed him the pictures.
"I don't remember…" sighed McGucket.
However dipper got to the page about the Blind Eye.
"No! The robes! My mind!" he yelled suddenly.
"Uh no…" said Serena.
"The blind eye…" muttered Riley.
"They must have taken so much!" said Dipper.
"We're going after them…" muttered Amelia in a clam yet angry voice.
"Finally!" said Lila.
"What?" asked McGucket.
"There's a group that's been erasing everyone's memories." Said Amelia, "And they must have erased all of you memories."
McGucket was surprised.
"Maybe we can figures out if we can get them back!" said Serena.
"But we don't even know we're their located." Said Hotaru.
"Wait!" said McGucket, "This is where I last remember."
He showed them a news article of him being found in front of the museum.
"We'll stop them from hearting any more people! Don't worry!" said Amelia.
They knew they had to come. Thankfully they decided to call Darien and he brought along his car so they did they all have to be stuffed in the truck.
The museum was closed so they ended up sneaking in.
"Okay! So what exactly should we do?" asked Dipper.
"I have no idea." Said Serena.
"Maybe we should split up into two groups and see if there's here." Said Hotaru.
"You mean the 6 of us do our own search while you guys search on your own?" asked Serena.
Hotaru nodded.
"Wait… I want Grandpa to know." Said Amelia.
"Are you sure?" asked Serena.
"He's my family… and also…" said Amelia.
"Soos' date." Sighed Serena.
"Yeah…" said Amelia.
"What are you talking about?" asked McGucket.
Amelia took out her wand.
"Mercury Star Power! Make-Up!"
She transformed into Sailor Mercury.
"What?" asked McGucket confused.
"I'm Sailor Mercury… I'm a Sailor Guardian." Said Sailor Mercury.
"Okay then!" said McGucket.
"I don't think he understand the whole thing." Said Serena.
"But still the rest of you should transform." Said Hotaru.
They nodded.
"Moon Crystal Power!"
"Venus Star Power!"
"Mars Star Power!"
"Jupiter Star Power!"
"Make-up!"
As they transformed Darien transformed too.
"All right you guys got your communicators?" asked Sailor Moon.
Dipper and Hotaru held up their wrists and Mabel just nodded still depressed from earlier.
"All right! Let's split up." Said Sailor Moon.
Once they split up the civilian group actually found some members of the Blind Eye and followed.
They saw followed them to a room that was filled with eyes.
McGucket began to panic though.
"What's wrong?" asked Hotaru.
"It feels like these eyes are watching me!" said McGucket.
Dipper noticed something. They were all looking in the same place where McGucket was standing.
"They are!" said Dipper, "Stand aside."
McGucket did so and behind him was a stone tablet of an eye.
He pressed the eye and the wall opened up revealing a corridor.
"All right if you're in any danger I'll hambone a message." Said McGucket.
He hambone a message which was not about anger but something else.
They found it was the main room of the Society as they chanted, they brought in Lazy Susan and they watched them erase her memories. And it was clear there were side effects.
As they did Dipper turned on his communicator.
"Hey! Found their location! And they just erased Lazy Susan's memories." Said Dipper.
"Okay! I got your location." Said Sailor Mercury.
"They keep their memories." Said Wendy.
"Looks like we can restore his memories." Said Dipper.
"Okay! We'll meet you there as soon as possible." Said Sailor Mercury.
Dipper nodded.
The Society all left as putting the memories into a tube to be placed into the "Hall of the Forgotten".
The society all went their seprated ways.
"Should we just let them leave?" asked Wendy .
"You weren't there on that day…" said Dipper, "I don't know if Serena can handle fighting them like that."
"So what should we do?" asked Hotaru.
"How about we find McGucket's memories and figure out everything from there." Said Dipper.
"But how do find them?" asked Soos near the tube that they put the memories in.
It sucked up his hat.
"All Wendy! Hotaru! Mabel! You stay here! We'll go find the hat!" said Dipper.
"Who girls club!" cheered Wendy.
They parted ways.
Meanwhile with the Sailor Guardians they were scouting out the location.
"There's intruders!" yelled a voice.
It was two members of the society.
"Crap! They decided to finally go after us!" yelled one of them.
"We didn't go after those two kids or anyone else you care about!" said the other.
"Actually… this is about something else." Said Sailor Mercury, "Turned out you erased someone's mind so much they lost themselves… and that person is one of the most important people in my life!"
"Oh dang it!" said the first one.
"I told you… something like this might happen." Said the second.
"Here!" said the first one giving the other 10 bucks.
However Sailor Mercury tried to punch the one getting the money, she tripped however and embarrassed herself.
"Nice try." Sighed Sailor Mars.
"I'll do it for you." Said Sailor Jupiter.
She proceeded to easily beat up the members very easily.
"Sorry… I know…" said Sailor Jupiter.
"It's fine… I wasn't able to do much…" said Sailor Mercury.
"Okay… so what do we have to do call the others?" asked Sailor Venus.
"For there to be another intruder alert… a bigger one!" said one of the members.
"How do we do that?" asked Sailor Mercury.
Meanwhile in the main room, Mabel was once again miserable.
"What's wrong?" axed Hotaru.
"Mermando is getting married! Why do every guy leave me?" asked Mabel.
"Mabel you're still young." Said Hotaru.
"You're 18…" said Mabel, "You still have a lot ahead of you too."
"I'm also technically like 30… said Hotaru.
"Wait… what?" asked Wendy.
"Long story." Sighed Hotaru.
"Oh come on Mabel. Just forget about guys!" said Wendy.
"That's it!" said Mabel.
She looked at the memory gun.
"No!" said Hotaru, "You saw wat happened with Lazy Susan… she doesn't remember a lot of stuff now… there's side effects."
"But it's painful…." Said Mabel.
"What's more painful… your summer romance failings or the fact that Serena will be crushed that your willingly erased your memories of Mermando?" asked Hotaru.
Mabel froze when she said.
"She fought to protect those memories… to the extent that she had to use her strangest attack at the time on a normal human." Said Hotaru.
Mabel looked at Hotaru.
She had almost forgotten that.
"I…" said Mabel.
"It hurts now, but I'm sure it won't in the future." Said Hotaru.
However that was when a nearby light started blinking.
"Uh-oh…" said Wendy.
That was when members of the Blind Eye jumped the three of them.
Elsewhere in the Museum, McGucket was freaking out, as dipper and Soos were taken while he wasn't.
"Grandpa!" said Sailor Mercury.
Sailor Jupiter was carrying the two members she beat up.
"Those two got captured!" said McGucket.
"It's okay I know where they are!" said Sailor Mercury.
Meanwhile in the main room… they were all tied up.
"So I take these two are also protected by the Sailor Guardians." Said Blind Ivan gloating whole holding a memory tube (which was where the forgotten memories where stored) label "Fiddleford McGucket's memories"
"They are." Said Dipper.
"But you still found this place and where they are… I'm sure they won't notice you looking a day's worth of memories." Said Blind Ivan.
"Are you willing to take that chance?" asked Dipper.
"Of course!" said the town's bouncer removing his hood.
"It should be fine!" said the town farmer removing his hood.
And there were other people removing their hoods.
"Bud Gleeful?" asked Dipper in shock.
"Oh boy…" said Mabel.
"This… this is bad…" said Wendy.
"Why… what's wrong?" asked Bud.
"It…" said Hotaru, "You'll probably find out soon."
"Anyways… today should be fine." Said Blind Ivan.
He pointed the memory gun at them.
"If we're going to lose our memories, I want to confess something." Said Hotaru, "I can summon the Silence Glaive without being transformed!"
"Wait… what?" asked Dipper.
The weapon appeared in a flash of purple light and fell in such a way cutting the ropes freeing all of them.
"Wait! You could do that the whole time." Said Mabel.
"I didn't need to tell you before." Said Hotaru.
"What!" yelled Blind Ivan.
"I'm a Sailor Guardian too… but I can't use my powers because their too powerful." Explained Hotaru.
'Oh come on!" yelled Blind Ivan.
That was when the Sailor Guardians, McGucket and Rose Knight appeared. With McGucket holding makeshift weapons. And Sailor Jupiter slamming their hostages to the ground.
Then Sailor Venus looked at Bud. And she just froze. It was like her world shattered.
"No…" she whispered.
"Venus…" sighed Sailor Moon.
"What's wrong with her?" asked Toby Determined who was also a member.
"Shut up!" yelled Sailor Venus who was pissed.
"All right! Fight like Hill Billies!" yelled McGucket.
However Sailor Venus immediately punched out Bud while crying.
"Uh…" said the Bouncer.
Sailor Jupiter immediately took him out as well.
"We lost haven't we?" asked Blind Ivan.
The lone woman of the Society shrugged.
Blind Ivan however decided to grab Dipper and hold him at memory gun point.
"end this fight now! Or I will completely blank his mind!" said Blind Ivan.
"What!" yelled Sailor Moon.
"I will!" said Blind Ivan.
"Sailor Moon!" said Dipper.
Sailor Moon wasn't sure what to do.
However McGucket looked at Dipper and at the memory gun.
And he tackled Blind Ivan. And getting Dipper free, however Blind Ivan just shot McGucket with the memory Gun.
"No!" yelled Sailor Mercury.
"My minds already broken!" said McGucket, "You can't break what's already broken!"
Sailor Mercury breathed a sigh of relief.
However she grabbed a nearby banjo.
"How! How!" yelled Blind Ivan.
But before he could ran at all, Sailor Mercury knocked him out with the banjo.
One of the members taken out by Sailor Jupiter yelled out "She can't throw a punch! But she can knock you out with a banjo!"
Thankfully the ensuing fight wasn't that big of a deal as the rest of easily taken out.
They were all tied up. However Bud was tied up on his own.
"Why is he tied up on his own!" said Blind Ivan, "I'm the leader!"
"That might be… But…" said Sailor Venus crying, "I have to show you!"
She de-transformed, shocking the Society.
"Marina…" said Bud.
"I remember you were going to erase my memories and make me a puppet for you!" yelled Marina.
"I didn't know it was you!" said Bud.
"He was against the plan because of you!" said Blind Ivan.
"But he still went along with it!" said Marina, "How many times did you erase my memory?"
Bud didn't answer, "I did let you keep your memories of that dinosaur incident you told me about…" he said.
"One of how many?" asked Marina.
"Wait you let your daughter keep her memories of something!" yelled Blind Ivan.
"It helped her get over her fears of dinosaurs… which I might have given her by letting her watch Jurassic park when she was young." Said Bud.
"Land Before Time… come on!" said the lone woman.
"Okay… that might be a good point." Said Blind Ivan.
"You guys said there was a side effects to the erasing… didn't you?" asked Marina.
"Uh…" said Bud.
"That explains everything…" said Marina.
"What?" asked Bud.
"I have no happy memories from when I was little." Said Marina.
Bud froze when she said.
"I have no happy memories of Gideon… and of a happy memories of you and mom… there are some… but not many…" said Marina.
Bud's heart broke.
"Wait! I just remembered!" yelled the guy in the pink shirt, "That little girl from the future… she said that the Society was going to fall and all of us was going to get our memories erased… but one member because he realized that the… society…"
"Did more harm than good." Said Bud looking away from his daughter.
"The reason why I fight so hard is that everyone refuses to fight back against everything…" cried Marina, "And they refuse to fight because they don't know they're in danger."
"Marina… I…" said Bud.
"Let me guess you were only looking out for yourself." Said Marina.
Bud didn't answer.
But it was true from the look on his face, he knew screwed up.
Sailor Mercury touched her shoulder then hugged her.
"Amelia…" whispered Marina, "Thank you…"
The other Sailor Guardians decided to de-transform as well.
"Wait!" yelled someone known around town as "Creepy Dude who married a woodpecker", "Since when you have powers?"
"A couple weeks…" said Darien, "So yeah… part of the team now."
"Huh…" said the "Creepy Dude Who Married a Woodpecker".
"If it helps we left along the Valtnetinos so they could fight of zombies… mostly…" said Blind Ivan.
Riley still glared at them.
"So about what the little girl from the future said…" said Dipper.
He put in Society of the Blind Eye into the memory Gun.
And then he erased all their memories.
Thankfully they came up with a plan involving the society and giving money to McGucket by calming it was "Prospector Night at the Museum"
However there was a small hiccup.
"Um… this might sound silly but I don't remember who I am or my name" said Blind Ivan.
"Oh…" said Serena.
"I think all he had was the Society…" said Amelia.
"I got this." Said Mabel picking up the banjo which oddly enough wasn't that damaged, "You're name is Toot-Toot McBumblesnazzle. You're a wandering banjo minstrel, you got crazy tattoos on your head and a song in your heart."
"All right then!" said the formerly Blind Ivan who happily walked away signing with his banjo.
However not all of it could have a happy ending.
"Marina…" said Bud.
"No… no… I don't want to hear anything from you…" cried Marina.
Bud looked down.
"I will understand if you want to live with the Pines for a long time…" said Bud.
Marina didn't say anything, just went back inside the museum.
"Come on Grandpa…" said Amelia.
They went back inside the museum.
There was a machine that showed off the forgotten memories.
"Are you sure?" asked Mabel.
"I have to know…" said McGucket.
Amelia nodded.
He placed the tube into the machine.
And immediately it showed the younger version of him, the very same one from the picture.
It revealed so much… namely he was the one who invented the memory gun and started the Society… And how erased his memories slowly drove him insane as most of his memories were forgotten.
When it was done, they all stared at the screen in horror.
"Grandpa…" said Amelia.
"You poor man…" said Mabel.
"Are you sure you want to remember that?"
"It's fine!" said McGucket, "I might have made mistakes in the past, but I remember who I am."
Amelia smiled.
"I don't remember everything yet! But I got a lot remembering to do!" said McGucket, "And some new reading glasses!"
He found a crazy pair of glasses. And put them on.
"See Mabel… it's a good thing to not forget the past." Said Wendy.
"What?" asked Serena.
"Never mind!" said Hotaru.
They all headed back to the cars.
In Soos' truck, McGucket was looking through Journal 3.
"IT's still fuzzy but it's coming back." Said McGucket.
"That's good." Said Amelia who rode in the truck.
"Amelia… does you dad know about the sailor thing?" asked McGucket.
"No." sighed Amelia.
"Eh… it's fine!" said McGucket.
"What" asked Amelia.
"You dad… is well… we know… but just let me know of any trouble! Okay!" said McGucket.
Amelia nodded.
That night, Stan walked into the living room, when he saw a shadow moving.
He was about to punch the shadow.
"Who's there!" yelled the shadow.
Thankfully Stan knew the voice and stopped himself and turned on the light.
"So… does Serena know you're here?" asked Stan.
Marina nodded.
"Gideon's in jail… what's the problem." Said Stan.
"We found against those mind erasers." Said Marina.
"Oh…" said stan having heard about them, "So what got you down in the dumps?"
"Dad was one of them…" cried Marina.
Stan looked at her.
Marina hugged her knees.
"Hey… I understand." Said Stan, "My pops… he did a lot of really low things too."
"I don't know if I can ever forgive him…" cried Marina.
"Well your dad's an idiot." Said Stan, "A selfish idiot…"
Marina didn't say anything, just cried more.
Stan however patted her head.
"It's okay… it's going to be fine…" said Stan.
With that the Society of the Blind Eye finally fell, with Amelia becoming closer to her grandpa, while Marina fell apart from her father…
Things changed big time… and they weren't sure what was going to happen next…
Next Time: Dipper and Mabel learn about Soos' birthday and discover he had a bad birthday. However Blendin Blandin wants revenge. However things are complicated, how complicated? Well if he gets his revenge he will start a War in the Future. However when Dipper and Mabel learn some about Soos they realize they might have to take that chance. What will happen? Find out next time!
