Chapter 90 Escape

In the Learn-a-Torium two great lightsaber duels were going on. One between two teachers and one between two students. Both battles were intense. Maddie faced off against Vlad and was trying her best to not be goaded into letting her anger get the best of her and to be patient. She needed to get to her son, but she needed to deal with Vlad first. Maddie either needed to defeat the vile traitor or figure out some way to delay him and put some distance between herself and him, so she can focus on coming to Danny's aid. The fight went on with the two fighters circling one another and occasionally trying to strike the other down only to be blocked by the others lightsaber. Vlad a calm smile on his face, while Maddie had a determined look on her face. The two fighters circled each other some more and struck at one another with their lightsabers, only to block each other again with their lightsabers and back away. Maddie realized that at the current moment she and Vlad were evenly matched, though she suspected Vlad was toying with her a bit. At this rate she would never reach Danny in time and be able to help him with whatever trouble he was dealing with. It was time to cause a little distraction. Maddie focused on a nearby desk table and used the Force to hurl it at Vlad! The traitor saw the desk flying at him and easily sliced it in half with a swing of his lightsaber, but in that span of a few seconds Maddie had already left the room and was running down the hallway towards a elevator. Maddie quickly opened the doors and went in heading towards the upper floors to where she sensed her son was.

"Well played Maddie, but this doesn't change anything. You and your son will either meet your end tonight or somewhere in the near future. It's only a matter of time." Said Vlad as he watched the elevator as it went up.

Maddie quickly used her communicator to contact Tucker and told him to fly the Tempest up to the upper floors of the building for a quick getaway.

"I just hope I'm not too late." Thought a worried Maddie.

Danny was on the defensive as Wraith struck at him fiercely with her lightsaber. The young Jedi could feel the anger emitting from Wraith as she struck at him again and again. The angering Wraith's eyes was quit disturbing since, she looked a lot like Danny. Danny was doing a good job defending himself from Wraith's attacks, though a part of him was still disturbed by Wraith's appearance. He let his guard slip a little and Wraith tried to strike at his face! Danny quickly leaped back just barely missing the attack and putting a little distance between himself and his attacker.

"I need to end this quickly." Thought Danny as he pointed his hand at Wraith and began to focus on using the Force to send her flying.

Wraith sensed what Danny was going to do and she pointed her hand forward and began to focus and use the Force as well. At exactly the same time the two fighters attacked one another with the Force. The air between the two began to ripple as the waves of Force collided with one another and then they released a tremendous shockwave that sent both Danny and Wraith crashing to the ground and destroyed the walls surrounding them.

Danny gasped and groaned in pain as he stood up first and removed his mask so he could breathe better. Wraith stumbled to her feet and looked up at Danny seeing his face. A look of utter confusion and disbelief appeared on Wraith's face as she gazed at Danny's face and then it turned into a look of absolute rage.

"What is the meaning of this mockery?! Are you using some kind of cowardly Jedi mind trick to make your face resemble mine and conceal your identity from me?!" Demanded Wraith.

"This is no trick. What you see is my actual face. I have no idea why we have similar faces." Said Danny.

The room was silent for several seconds and then Wraith relaxed a little and spoke.

"It doesn't matter what you look like. It won't change your fate. You and all your allies will be destroyed!"

Before Wraith could attack, Maddie arrived on the scene and knocked her down with a Force push. Wraith hit the ground and rolled a few yards before stopping. She looked up at Maddie and gave her a savage glare. Maddie was a bit startled by Wraith's appearance and the amount of hatred she sensed from the girl. She quickly shook her head, ran over to Danny, grabbed him and the two of them took off running. The two of them ran down some hallways and located some windows and spotted the Tempest flying by with it's landing bay door open. Maddie shattered the window with a Force push and she and Danny jumped into the Tempest. The ship began to fly away as Wraith arrived at the window and glared at the fleeing ship. Danny looked back at Wraith and their eyes meet for a few seconds before the Tempest left the area and flew far away.
