Sacred Sacrifice

Chapter 29

Author Notes: Long time no see~ It's been awhile so I thought we were long due for a chappy. So i am sorry for the wait. I do not Own My candy love. Now let's see last time Armin went through Halo's memories, met Dimitry and then heard screaming. Big fun.

Before we get started please note that this chapter is going to heavily focus on Sheena's perspective. This is what she was doing while Armin was out with his brothers and friends. We good? We good let's go.

3rd P.O.V

After the discussion with the group of immortal beings she returned temporarily to hell. She needed to speak to Dimitry in person. If not for the information she needed to share with him then for her own sanity.

The demonic being needed some sort of advice, her mind was jumbled with memories and conflicting feelings. It doesn't hurt that this was also a good excuse to avoid Armin once more.

Anyone could see how even now she ran away from him and she hated it. If there were many things that described Sheena, cowardly certainly wasn't one of them. Regardless as her life as a human or a guardian-she was surrounded with dangerous and downright traumatic events.

And with each one she stood proud and tall, facing each one head on. Yet, here she was, running away and blocking her connection with Armin. Being the very definition of a coward because of a simple human boy.

A boy whom she should've never gotten herself involved in. Instead of revealing herself she should've just wiped his memories after saving his life. Or convinced Mia to lie to him. It was too late to form these regrets.

He was in too deep, a mortal who knew and understand the destruction the world was undergoing and even aiding in those trying to prevent it. Sheena could only shake her head as shivers coursed through her body.

She still felt that tingling sensation on her lips from the kiss he gave her. His proclamations of love and a future together alongside that passionate gaze left her out of breath. Desperately she wanted that, it was what she had always wished for. A sigh escaped her as reality gave a cold, heartless reminder.

In the end that was not going to happen. She had her mission, one that she has not finished and had been doing even before her punishment placed in a comatose state. No matter what she had to succeed. And for that to happen she could not give in to her desires.

Now she knew the ache her elder twin felt when she first met and fell in love with Jade. Fate truly loved to bite her in the ass when she least expects it. Her feelings were like a smoldering flame.

It was there, hidden from view to the point where it would look like it was non existent. The moment the idiotic gamer confessed the small flickering emotions became a blaze, scorching her from the inside out.

When Castiel had gone about capturing him and their other companions she felt her rage burst, dehumanizing her. Though she was honest with her words she felt the control she had up until that point ready to snap.

His threats and taunts meant nothing to her. Her emotions were dark and ugly as she fought him, she easily slashed his body to pieces and had no remorse for doing such. And that scared her.

For the first time since her role as an immortal she felt like a monster. Were it not for Lysander and Halo she would've ended his life once more, though she wouldn't have been punished this time. It still left her feeling ill. Armin as well as her friends and family saw her at her absolute worst.

"Ah there you are." A gasp left her lungs as something painfully collided with her frame. She's pushed forward several yards, rolling and tumbling onto the crimson earth of Dimitry's territory.

Blinking she clears her vision, before scowling. With a pained grunt she rises, looking into the eyes of someone she thought she would never meet again. "How are you Shadow? It's been a long time."

She hisses, baring her fangs at the man before her. "Not long enough Dakota. What are you doing here?" She'll never forgive nor forget. The man that caused all her suffering still smirking as he did back then.

"Now now, is that anyway to greet me? I've come all the way from the pits just to see you." The day the bastard finally kicked the bucket was the happiest day of Shadow's existence.

It wasn't long after she adapted to her new role in the afterlife when the news came. The moment she saw his name appear on the book of death she zoomed, traveling to earth at blinding scenes to see his final moments.

His body was on the dirty floor of his home, blood pouring through his chest as he choked on his own blood. The knife that at one point was embedded into his chest, and instantly her old scar throbbed.

She remembered what it felt like for a sword to stab into her flesh, and seeing him in that state felt like karma. Still, after everything that had happened to Shadow and Halo Dakota refused to change his ways.

One too many times he found himself playing around with girls, and it turned out one of his lovers found out about his cheating ways and wanted him to suffer. Leaving him all alone with his life slowly and painfully slipping away.

The moment he uttered his last breath she allowed chains to grip his body, dragging him to the pits. A section at the literal bottom of hell, where souls that were so wicked, so horrible and tainted with no hope of redemption would suffer and stay for all eternity.

Shadow has sent hundreds upon thousands of men and women there, and up until now-not one has broken free. "What do you want you miserable wretch!?" He smiles, approaching her. "I thought we'd talk. We didn't really have a chance last time."

A growl escapes her throat, warning him to stay away. "Which last time? When you killed me and my sister? Or when I dragged you to the pits?" She wanted nothing from him. A flash of anger was seen in his eyes but it was quickly covered as he continued to act pleasant.

"Oh how you wound me Shadow. Time has been cruel to you." She wanted to retort, stating that time hasn't been cruel enough to him! But she doesn't, instead she keeps her eyes on him.

Readying herself for battle. Though Dakota was still only a soul of evil, he was powerful. There was no way he would've drag himself out of the pits just for a simple chat. And they both knew it.

A sigh escapes the blond man. "How's your sister doing?" A snort releases from Shadows' mouth. "Happier without you that's for damn sure." Her words struck a nerve as his eye twitched.

He still couldn't let his feelings go. "Is that so? Then I guess I'll have to fix that." His hatred at the demon woman standing before her, and the love he felt for the angel of his world increased his malicious aura.

"Don't think about it Dakota, you and I both know you won't be able to defeat me and make it to the mortal realm. Why don't you do me a favor and for once leave my sister be!" A huff of a chuckle escapes him.

Not even a minute longer before his laughter turns hysterical. "Leave her be? Oh that's rich! Sorry Shadow but you won't be able to stop me...not this time!" At his command souls and demons attacked her. People she trained, people she condemned to the pits.

Those that hated and feared her took their revenge, attacking with no sense of compassion or mercy. "That precious lord you protect will fall Shadow! Hell and soon the entire realm will be mine to control! You stopped me two-hundred years ago, never again!" There were too many.

Struggling, fighting, she did her best but despite all her combat training and experience...she couldn't stop them. A scream of pain burst through her mouth as chains and magic slashed across her immortal frame.

This wasn't the first time she's found herself horribly outmatched and outnumbered, however there was no way she was going to come out victorious or unscathed in this battle. Unlike before there was no one to aid her this time. She was alone and tired.

'Sheena? Sheena! Talk to me! What's wrong?!'

She wanted to respond to Armins' scared, desperate questions but she couldn't. Her body took too much damage, forcing her to one knee gasping for air. Just to get blasted away and attacked yet again, they gave her no chance to counter.

Collapsing against the cold ground her eyes fluttered as footsteps grew louder. "You can't die on me just yet dear Shadow. I have plans for you." His malicious laughter echoed in her mind as she finally fell unconscious.
