6th of June
Dear Father and Mother,
Firstly, I would like to apologise in advance for the short length of this letter. I know I haven't written in a while, but I am away with the Professor and this is the largest sheet of paper I was able to find.
We've just been on an amazing and almost unbelievable adventure. Too much happened for me to mention explain everything in detail but let me just say that we were in a village full of clockwork people. If you can picture it, it sounds like something out of a fairy tale, I suppose. I helped the Professor solve many of the puzzles we were challenged with. I really do think I'm getting much better at them, and I'm improving as his assistant every single day. Next time I write, I'll try to write one down for you to try.
I nearly forgot to mention! At the village we found a girl called Flora, and she was the only living person among all the mechanical ones. You could say the Professor has adopted her. She doesn't speak much yet, but I hope I can become friends with her.
I will be returning to London very soon, I suspect, and I'll send you another letter once we've reached home. I hope you both are doing well even as the weather gets warmer and warmer. (I think even the Professor is starting to feel warm in his coat, though he would never take it off.)
I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon!
Love,
Luke Triton.
A/N: Tadaa! The prompt for this one was 'mail-order awesome'. Being the completely unoriginal person I am I just wrote a fic in the form of a letter -shot-. I like imagining the letters Little Luke might write to his parents. The one after the third game must be particularly interesting. Perhaps one day I'll replay the games, so I can write more interesting letters from Luke, haha.
This was part of the Twelve Shots of Summer challenge. Go search it up here on ffnet and read the other awesome entries!
Thanks for reading!
