Haru's POV
Finally, home at last. Well, more like the Octoling Soldier base actually. When us Octolings aren't fighting against the Agents- or in my case, befriending them- we spend most of our time here. Until we get assigned a task by our Chief, the other soldiers keep themselves occupied by training, doing weapon & armor maintenance, having meal breaks, or just chillaxing in their rooms. I suppose you could say I'll be chillaxing for now while I get Nibs' uniform repaired.
"Miyako, I'm ba- Huh?", I happily greeted my roommate as I pushed my door open after unlocking it, but, was suprised when I realized she wasn't there.
Must be off training- as usual. Oh well, at least I can get started on repairing without getting scolded.
I then carefully took off her Hero Suit and placed them on a nearby drawer. After rummaging under my bed for a few minutes, I finally found my sewing kit. But, before I could get a chance to get started on repair-
"OCTO-75812. Please report to the Chief's office immediately.", a chilling yet calm voice spoke over the intercom.
Why am I not surprised Ms. Chief wants to talk to me-
"And by "immediately", we mean RIGHT NOW!", a more obnoxious voice hollered.
Just great. Of course, she has to be there too. Well, if this conversation is what I think it is, then, at least I won't have to bear with her screeches anymore.
"Let's just get this over with.", an upset sigh escaped my mouth as I trudged out of my room and headed down the quiet hallway.
I can't lie- I'm going to miss this place and all the new friends I made. Well, at least I think they were my friends. Ok, so, we weren't exactly close. But, that's besides the point.
Even if weren't technically friends, I'm really going to miss their company. The only company I had when I was growing up was my family...for a short while though anyway. I remember the day Octoling soldiers abducted me from my own home and subdued to become a mind-controlled robot by the big guy's awful tunes.
But enough with the heartwrenching memories. The sooner I get this over with, the sooner I can go home. At least, if home is still there...
Once I made to the end of the hallway, I approached the giant door to Ms. Chief's office. I didn't hesitate to scan my ID card despite the multiple security cameras staring down from above me. I can't believe I'm still terrified of those things.
"Enter.", a robotic voice exclaimed as the door slowly creaked open. My hand was shaking as I pushed it open wider and quietly stepped inside her office.
Hey guys. Diamond here. Thank you all so much for your patience with my terribly slow updates- I can't believe it's been 2 years since I last posted...
Regardless, I do hope you enjoy this sneak peek! Now that I'm on winter break, I have some time to continue working on my fanfictions. Also, if you guys aren't aware, I decided to do a remaster of the 1st 9 chapters on Parallel Lines. Check it out if you're interested and be sure to be on the lookout for the remastered version of Chapter 2.
Thanks for reading and remember: STAAAY FRESH!
