A/N Goes without saying I'm playing in the sandbox of Originals, creation of Julie Plec and Michael Narducci
Sorry it's not mistakes are totally mine
In the honour of finale coming up, and my love of Cami, here's the fic.
Cami was getting ready for her classes. The only normal thing in her life, she can tell. Just as she was locking her door and turned she saw Vincent coming towards her with a soft smile.
Pleasantries were exchanged and frankly she was curious for this particular morning visit. Her face must have shown her unasked question to which he quietly laughs and says" Wondering what am I doing early morning here?"
"You can tell me on the way, if you don't mind. I'm getting late for my classes."
"Well I have something for you. Consider it a parting gift from me, Camille." He just waved a package into her hands.
"What is it?" Her curiosity getting the better of her
"Spell for you to reconnect with your brother one last time."
She stopped in shock"What do you mean, Vincent?"
"You can talk to him, say your goodbyes. You must have given it a thought"
" If it were up to me I would have brought him back but I don't have the required resources .To be honest necromancy isn't my area of expertise. It was my wife's."
He stopped abruptly. His late wife is still a sore subject for him.
Cami felt empathy for Vincent for what he had to deal with this last year.
"Having said that bringing back the dead no matter for even good intentions has severe consequences. We can't disturb the balance of nature"
Cami not knowing what to say, so he continued
"You told me your uncle was hexed and Davina told me what happened with your brother. He didn't deserve that."
"You want something, don't you?" He didn't see the type to hurt her or threaten her but one can never be sure in this city of supernaturals. Klaus' paranoia has certainly rubbed off on her after all this time.
She was sure she saw a flicker of hurt cross his face before he calmly replies
"You've already given me much, Cami. You've been a friend to me when you didn't have to and when I needed one most. You saved my life knowing full well I'm a witch and you never wanted my help for your own gain .Frankly I'm surprised that you don't hate all the witches, after what they did to you.."
She was going to say something but he cut her off "I get it. That's who you are. A good person, a little too good for this place in fact. Or you've embraced the darkness in the city. All the more reason for you to not be here in this mess."
Cami needed to inform him"I'd rather dwell on good memories I've had with my brother and uncle here in this city"
He smiled at the answer knowing full well that it's not the full truth and wishes nothing more than safety of this good human.
"Consider it an apology on behalf of the witches who killed your family and the guy who inhabited me and hurt you. It's the least I could do for you" he said while staring at ground.
Cami wasn't upset at Vincent but she would be lying that Vincent still sometimes reminded him of Finn and his obsession.
He seemed really sincere. Tears fell from her eyes at the prospect of talking to her brother once more. She always wanted that.
She hugged him and mumbled a soft "Thank you." She accepted his gift whole-heartedly asking" Evening's good for you?"
