1,602Hey guys, I'm finally back with another chapter for this story, I sincerely apologize for the very long wait. As usual, I will post two chapters for this story in a row before I work on any of my other fics, so I hope you look forward to that. This chapter will pick up where the previous left off and will finish Natsu's fight against Cobra, and will keep this arc going.
P.S. In case you didn't know, I recently started a My Hero Academia fic called 'What it Takes to be a Hero.' So, if you haven't read it already, I encourage you to check it out and to follow/favorite and leave a review if you enjoyed it.
P.P.S. I've seen this asked a few times recently, so I figured I'd address it right now, and that's all the girls that are or will be in Natsu's harem. So, please pay attention this time ;)
Main Harem: Lucy, Erza, Mirajane, Wendy, Juvia, Flare, Brandish, and Irene. As of right now, those are all the girls that will officially be in Natsu's harem, and I don't plan on adding any more, with one exception that I'll get to momentarily.
Side Harem: I want to make one thing crystal clear before I start listing the girls. None of these girls are just flings or are women that Natsu will sleep with then just forget about. They all have their reasons for not being in the official harem, and I'll do my best to explain why. So, let's get to all the girls that will be in the side harem: Hisui (is the princess of Fiore, she can't just drop all of her responsibilities to be with Natsu. She also doesn't want to force him to stay with her in the capital), Ultear (because of her past crimes feels like she isn't worthy of love or happiness, so she tries to distance herself from Natsu. Ultear is the one girl who will likely be promoted to the main harem, but that won't happen until the end of the story), Cana (simply isn't looking for a committed relationship. She really likes Natsu, but isn't looking to settle down with anyone), Yukino (once again, Yukino really likes Natsu, but she just isn't looking for a committed or long-term relationship. She wants to improve her skills as a mage first), Kagura (is committed to Mermaid Heel and her fellow mages, so she won't just up and leave them to be with Natsu), and Jenny (will still be dating Hibiki).
So, those are all the girls who will be in the main and side harems. If you have any questions feel free to ask me. I, however, will not be listening to any more requests for girls to be added or removed. And if you have problems with the girls that are in, or not in, the harem I frankly don't care, and you're free to stop reading.

"They're all gone! All the dragons have been wiped out! Get that through your thick skull already!" Cobra taunted, before inhaling deeply once again, dark purple magic swirling around his mouth. "And just like those dragons, I'll wipe you out too! Poison Dragon's Roar!"
Not knowing what else to do, Natsu closed his eyes and braced himself for the onslaught of magic to hit him, his body still under the debilitating effects of Cobra's poison. But before the roar hit him, he heard something land in front of him. When Natsu cracked an eye open, he saw something that caused him to gasp in shock, his eyes now wide open in horror. In front of him stood Wendy, the blue-haired dragon slayer's arms were outstretched protectively as she began to eat the stream of poison. Natsu watched in utter disbelief as Wendy inhaled copious amounts of poisonous magic, her face twisted in disgust. When Cobra's attack finally stopped, Natsu was unhurt but Wendy wobbled for a few moments before she collapsed to the ground.
"WENDY!" Natsu roared as newfound strength rushed through him, instantly leaping over towards Wendy's side. Kneeling next to the blue-haired dragon slayer, Natsu felt his heart sink when he saw Wendy's veins turning black and her skin paled as the poison coursed through her body. Her breathing was ragged and her entire body was trembling in pain. Natsu had no idea how to help Wendy and felt tears welling up in his eyes. "WENDY! Please say something! Why did you do something so reckless!?"
"H-Heh...sorry...Natsu..." Wendy apologized with a weak smile, seeming to struggle with each word, before coughing up a mouthful of black bile. Wheezing slightly, Wendy stared up at the sky overhead. "I...I just...wanted to be useful...and help you...I...I did...help right?"
"Y-Yeah Wendy..." Natsu said in a shaky voice as he now felt tears streaming down his cheeks. Reaching down, Natsu grabbed ahold of Wendy's shaking hand. "You helped out a ton...you did an amazing job..."
"That's great..." Wendy said with a soft chuckle, hacking up another mouthful of black sludge. "I'm so happy...I was able to..." Wendy stopped mid-sentence, struggling to take in a breath. After several moments of gasping, Wendy's entire body went stiffened, her hand going limp in Natsu's grasp.
"W-Wendy..." Natsu breathed out as he was filled with an overwhelming sense of dread, everything that was happening finally starting to sink in. "No...No. No. No! NO! NO!" Releasing Wendy's hand, Natsu grabbed ahold of her shoulders, gasping when he felt that her skin was already cold. Leaning down, Natsu pressed his ear against Wendy's chest, all his hope crumbling away when he didn't hear any heartbeat after several agonizing seconds. "No...this can't be happening! This is some sick dream! Wendy can't be...there's no way!"
"Tch, stupid kid..." Cobra muttered in a seemingly saddened tone, turning his head away from the heart-wrenching scene. "She should have stayed out of this..."
"HIM! HE'S THE ONE WHO KILLED HER!"
"HE MUST PAY! HE TOOK AWAY SOMEONE PRECIOUS TO YOU!"
"HE MUST DIE! TEAR THE FLESH FROM HIS BONES!"
"W-What the hell is going on with that guy..." Cobra thought as he felt the air around Natsu seem to chill, a black aura radiating off him.
"That mother fucker...it's all his fault..." Natsu thought as he felt his heart stop, the most intense and pure rage he'd ever experienced welling up inside him. The pink-haired dragon slayer felt his mind going blank, being completely consumed by intense, black fury. He felt something dark and dangerous trying to break free. "This fucker took Wendy from me! He has to die!" But before this new, evil power could escape, a sudden sound hit Natsu's ear and brought him back from the brink. It was faint, but Natsu was sure he had heard it. It was slow at first, but it gradually became faster and faster. Natsu felt an intense wave of relief wash over him as he heard Wendy's heart start beating once again. With a groggy groan, Wendy slowly sat upright, holding her head in pain. Unable to contain his joy, Natsu lunged forward and embraced Wendy in a tight hug, tears pouring from his eyes. "She's okay! She's okay!"
"N-Natsu!" Wendy exclaimed in surprise, her face turning bright red in embarrassment. "I-I'm fine! You don't have to hold me so tight!"
"Sorry, I was just so worried...I thought I'd lost you, Wendy..." Natsu said as he released the blue-haired dragon slayer, sniffling several times as he wiped away his tears. However, when Natsu finished clearing his eyes, he was not prepared for what he saw. Wendy was seemingly okay, but something had definitely changed about her. Wendy's normally brown eyes now resembled slits, similar to a snake's. Her usual blue hair had become dark purple and was completely disheveled, giving her a wild appearance. "Wendy...what the hell happened to you?"
"Huh?" Wendy said, cocking her head in confusion. "What are you talking-" Wendy stopped dead in her tracks when she looked down at her arms, seeing that they were now coated in several rows of purple scales and her nails had elongated into razor-sharp claws. Screaming in surprise, Wendy bolted onto her feet. "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!"
"That girl...how did she survive eating my poison?" Cobra thought as he stared at Wendy in shock, stunned by her sudden resurrection. "And what the hell happened to her?"
"Natsu...what happened to me..." Wendy asked in a panicked tone, staring down at her hands and hyperventilating. "I feel so strange right now...my magic is completely out of wack."
"I don't know Wendy." Natsu replied as he scanned Wendy up and down, taking in her drastic change in appearance. "But it must have something to do with you eating all that poison magic."
"I don't understand, why-" Wendy was cut off when she felt magical power gathering around hands. She gasped in shock when she saw a dark purple mist gathering in her palms. Immediately Wendy began to panic and frantically wave her hand around in an attempt to dispel the purple gas. "KYA! What the hell is this stuff!?"
"I-It can't be!" Cobra thought, feeling a chill run down his spine. "That looks just like my poison magic!"
"Holy shit, I think I know what's going on..." Natsu said as a massive smirk spread across his face, grabbing ahold of Wendy's shoulders. The now purple-haired dragon slayer stopped panicking and locked eyes with Natsu, a faint blush spreading across her face. "Wendy I can't believe it...but I think you somehow absorbed that guy's poison dragon slayer magic after you ate it. Just like how I can use lighting and fire dragon slayer magic...you can now use sky and poison dragon slayer magic.
"W-What..." Wendy breathed out, her slitted eyes widening in surprise. She had a hard time believing what Natsu was saying, but it did seem to make sense. Her magic had felt distorted and twisted a few moments earlier, but it was starting to settle down now, and she could definitely feel a new magical power within her. It was strange though, it almost felt like the two magics were constantly fighting against each other. Like her sky magic was trying to cleanse the poison magic, while the poison magic tried to corrupt and destroy her sky magic. Both magics existed within her simultaneously, but they were both battling for complete control. Despite all of this, Wendy was sure of one thing, she felt great. After overcoming her initial shock, Wendy realized how alert and energetic she felt. She could feel this new magic power coursing through her body and it was an exhilarating sensation. "I...I think you're right Natsu...I can feel a new magical power in my body..." Holding up her hand, Wendy watched as the purple haze continued to swirl around it, with her now controlling its movements. "I really can use poison dragon slayer magic now."
"Heh, let's test out your new powers then." Natsu said with a devious smirk as he placed a hand on Wendy's shoulder and turned her towards Cobra. The second-generation poison dragon slayer's eyes widened when he saw that both Natsu and Wendy were now targeting him. Natsu felt Wendy's entire body tense slightly at the thought of having to fight, but he gave her shoulder a comforting squeeze. "I know you don't think you'll be helpful in a fight Wendy, but you're a dragon slayer...the dragons who raised us gifted us with incredible power...I know you can do it! Dig deep inside yourself and use that amazing power within you!"
"Natsu's right...I can't hide and let others do all the fighting forever..." Wendy thought, before closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. Doing as Natsu said, Wendy searched inside herself for the magic power hidden within her. Then she felt it, a wave of magic bubbling up inside her. Instead of fighting it, Wendy let the magical energy flow through her. Wendy's eyes suddenly snapped open and she glared at Cobra, causing him to flinch in fear. "I can do this! I'll use this new power to help my friends!"
"Shit, I don't like that look! And the amount of magical energy that girl is giving off just skyrocketed!" Cobra thought as he mounted Cubellios and rose up into the air. "I better get out of here before things really start to go south." However, Cobra's eyes widened in surprise when he noticed that he had stopped moving. When Cobra whipped around, he was shocked to see that it was Wendy holding him in place. She was inhaling deeply as she gathered magical power, and that powerful suction was keeping Cobra from fleeing. "What the hell!? How can she possibly stop us from escaping!?"
"We're not gonna let you leave so easily." Natsu said with a smirk, before patting Wendy on the shoulder. "You've got this Wendy! Hit him with everything you've got!"
"Poison-Sky Dragon Slayer's Roar!" When Wendy roared, she unleashed a literal tornado of dark purple poisonous gas. The already deadly poison dragon slayer magic was only further enhanced by the rushing winds of Wendy's own sky dragon slayer magic. Cobra had no chance to avoid the attack and was hit dead-on, being completely engulfed by the stream of wind and poison. Cobra could only scream out in pain as he was continuously buffeted by the powerful attack. Soon, both Cobra and Cubellios fell to the ground seemingly unconscious. Seeing that Cobra could no longer fight, Wendy stopped her attack. The young dragon slayer collapsed onto her knees, panting heavily. "I...I did it..."
"That was amazing Wendy, I knew you could do it! You also managed to fuse both your magics, which was fucking awesome!" Natsu cheered with a grin, crouching down next to Wendy and giving her a fist bump. "But...it looks like you may have used up all the poison dragon slayer magic within you."
"No..." Wendy said as she watched the scales and claws disappear from her hands. Her appearance now back to normal, Wendy turned to face Natsu and smiled, placing a hand over her chest. "I can still feel the poison magic inside me...but it's no longer fighting for control...it feels like both poison and sky magic can coexist within me now."
"I knew you were strong Wendy...you just needed to believe in yourself." Natsu said with a toothy grin, before standing back up. "Well, we should-" Natsu suddenly grunted and collapsed down onto one knee. The pink-haired dragon slayer was panting slightly, with sweat dripping off his brow. "Heh, guess that bastard's poison is still running its course."
"Don't worry Natsu, I'll heal you." Wendy said as she shuffled over towards Natsu's side. However, before she could start healing him, he reached out and stopped her. "Natsu? What's wrong?"
"Don't worry about me Wendy." Natsu said, grin never leaving his face as he waved her off. "I just need to rest for a couple of minutes, then I'll be good to go! You should rest and recover your magic! Also, where's Carla? Did you run off without her? I bet she's worried sick about you."
"That's...I...well..." Wendy sputtered out as her face flushed slightly, averting her gaze. Taking a deep breath, Wendy calmed herself and locked eyes with the pink-haired dragon slayer. "Natsu, are you sure? It wouldn't take long to heal you...and I don't want you to get hurt any further..."
"Wendy, I'll be fine..." Natsu said in a reassuring tone, slowly getting up before sitting down on a large piece of rubble. "Now, just relax and focus on recovering your magic."
"Don't worry Wendy, I'll keep Natsu safe!" Happy said in an energetic tone as he plopped down next to the pink-haired dragon slayer. "So don't worry!"
"Heh, I guess you're right." Wendy said with a chuckle, dusting herself off and taking a seat next to Natsu. "I hope we stop this thing soon, I'm worried about my guild."
"We'll stop this thing, Wendy..." Natsu said with a grin as he patted Wendy on the head, causing her face to flush bright red. "I promise."
"Hey Natsu, was it really a good idea to send Wendy off like that?" Happy whispered in a sluggish tone as he started to feel the effects of Cobra's poison. "She could have healed both of us."
"I know buddy...but Wendy used up a lot of her magic when she hit that snake guy with her breath attack...and I didn't want her to waste any more magic healing us, she needs time to recover." Natsu said quietly, before turning around on the piece of rubble he was sitting one, not at all surprised to see that Cobra was back on his feet. "And I wanted to take this bastard down myself."
"How is he still standing after being hit by Wendy's attack!?" Happy gasped in shock as he hid behind the pink-haired dragon slayer. "Natsu, what are we gonna do?!"
"There's no way..." Wendy said in a stunned tone, staring at Cobra with wide eyes.
"I'm gonna-" Natsu tried to stand back up, but was immediately floored by a sudden wave of pain and nausea as Nirvana started to move once again. "Son of a bitch...I forgot this thing...was a moving vehicle..."
"Heh, look at you...the old generation of dragon slayers...pathetic!" Cobra spat as poison gathered around his fist. "For the pride of Oración Seis...I have to kill you!"
(Same Time: With Brain)
"Impossible..." Brain thought, having watched the entire fight between Cobra and Natsu hidden behind a pile of rubble. "Cobra was defeated by that pink-haired boy and a small girl? Just how strong are they!?" Tightly balling his fists, Brain stepped out of his hiding spot and began to approach Cobra from behind. "I don't care how strong they are...for one of our members to be defeated by them...how ridiculous!" Raising his staff, Brain fired a burst of magic at Cobra, hitting him in the shoulder. The poison dragon slayer yelled out in pain, gripping his bleeding shoulder. "You've done quite enough Cobra, it's time to end this. You've done all you can, so take a break."
"B-Brain...why...the hell..." Cobra growled as he turned to face to the leader of Oracion Seis. His ears perked up when he began to hear Brain's inner thoughts.
"Oración Seis has no need for trash that is defeated by official guild members!"
"Damn it!" Cobra thought, tears stinging his eyes as he collapsed to the ground. As Cobra lay on the ground, Cubellios slithered over and wrapped herself protectively around him. "My prayer...was just to hear the voice of my only friend...Cubellios..."
"You son of a bitch...wasn't he one of your nakama?!" Natsu growled as he glared fiercely at Brain, sparing a quick glance at Cobra's unconscious form. "What the hell is wrong with you!?"
"How could you hurt him like that?!" Wendy exclaimed, tears forming in her eyes. "He may have been our enemy, but he didn't deserve that!"
"Don't worry..." Brain said with a dark smile, standing over Cobra and looking down at Natsu. "With the power of Nirvana, I can make all the friends I want."
"Those aren't friends..." Natsu said in a menacing tone as he tightly balling his fists, sparks crackling off his hands. "They're just puppets!"
"I hate arguing with you boy...and that little girl annoys me to no end..." Brain said, crouching down next to Natsu. Leaning in close, Brain whispered into Natsu's ear. "I like your power boy, it's quite amazing." Standing back up, Brain's twisted smile widened as he pointed his glowing staff at Natsu. "How about I make you my first puppet?"
(Ten Minutes Earlier: With Gray and Lucy)
"What the hell is this place?" Gray muttered as he scanned his surroundings, taking note of the numerous dilapidated buildings. "It looks like an ancient city or something."
"Ugh, we need to catch up with Natsu and Happy..." Lucy groaned, stretching her aching muscles as she got onto her feet. "Knowing those two, they're already in some type of trouble."
"Well isn't this interesting, running into you two in this city of illusions." A familiar voice spoke up behind both Fairy Tail mages. Whipping around they were surprised to see Jura smiling at them, but what surprised them even more was that he was with Hot Eyes. "I'm glad to see that you're both okay."
"It's the bald dude from Leon's guild!" Gray exclaimed in shock, causing Lucy to sweatdrop at his bluntness. "And he's with a member of Oración Seis!"
"Please don't worry, he's an ally." Jura said with a grin as he patted Hot Eyes on the shoulder. "You two have nothing to fear."
"It's a world full of love!" Hot Eyes proclaimed, before bellowing out a hearty laugh.
"Did you both hit your heads or something?" Lucy asked with a sigh as she pinched the bridge of her nose. "Did some crazy magic turn that Oración Seis guy good or something?"
"This city is where the Nirvit clan of ancients once lived." Hot Eyes explained, gesturing towards the destroyed buildings all around them. "The entire world was engulfed in many wars four hundred years ago. Despite all the fighting, the Nirvit clan always remained neutral, grieving for a world that was tearing itself apart. So they developed a type of magic that would restore balance to the world. A hyper-magic that would swap light and darkness. They named that magic Nirvana, Land of Peace."
"Huh, now isn't that ironic..." Gray muttered as he stroked his chin. "Something designed for peace is now being used as a tool for evil."
"The ancients likely never calculated for their magic turning light to darkness..." Jura said with a sigh, slightly shaking his head. "But strong magics almost always have strong side effects."
"It matters not what the ancient's plans were, now that Nirvana is moving we have some serious trouble on our hands." Hot Eyes said as Nirvana took another massive step, causing the ground beneath them to quake. "We must put a stop this without a moment to spare."
"Of course!" Lucy agreed, nodding her head and resting a hand on her gate keys. "We need to end this thing soon!"
"Brain will most likely be in the central King's Hall controlling Nirvana." Hot Eyes explained as he pointed towards a large building towering in the distance. "While he is doing that he will be unable to use any other magic, that is our time to strike."
"If he's 'driving' this thing, then does he have a specific destination in mind?" Gray asked, eyes hardening slightly. "If he has a target, we should try to warn them."
"Perhaps, but I do not know..." Hot Eyes replied in a saddened tone as he shook his head.
"You're all on the right track." A new voice spoke up from behind the group of light guild mages. Spinning around, they were surprised to see Midnight sitting on a rooftop, staring down at them. "I am the only one who knows what Father's true intentions are."
"Midnight?!" Hot Eyes exclaimed in a worried tone as he stared at his comrade.
"Wasn't he the one that was always asleep?" Lucy asked no one in particular, feeling a strong magical power radiating off of Midnight. "Should we be worried now that he's awake?"
"Hot Eyes, are you betraying Father?" Midnight asked with a dangerous edge to his voice as he quirked an eyebrow. "That'd be unwise."
"Of course not!" Hot Eyes exclaimed with a huff, pumping his fist into the air. "I've simply realized the error of Brain's ways!"
"Father? Error?" Midnight parroted as he hopped off the roof, glaring at Hot Eyes as soon as he landed. "Did I hear you correctly?"
"Are those two really father and son?" Lucy muttered, quirking an eyebrow before taking several sniffs of the air. "They don't really have the same scent...and I gotta say I don't see the resemblance."
"Who cares about-" Gray was cut off when the ground underneath him, Lucy, and Jura suddenly liquefied, putting them all in a small ditch. "GAH! What the hell just happened!"
"That was Hot Eyes, he must have liquified the ground underneath us." Jura explained as he stood up and dusted himself off. "He likely just saved us."
"Saved us from what?" Lucy asked, poking her head out the ditch they were in. The blonde celestial spirit mage's eyes widened in shock when she saw that several of the buildings around them had been sliced through and completely leveled, only Hot Eyes remained unscathed. "Holy shit, that guy did save us!"
"All members of Oración Seis are of equal power!" Hot Eyes exclaimed, motioning for Lucy and the other light guild mages to stay back. "I will fight Midnight myself!"
"Heh, you really intend to take me on?" Midnight asked in an amused tone as he easily dodged a wave of liquified earth that Hot Eyes had launched at him.
"We should take this chance and get out of here." Lucy whispered, glancing at Gray and Jura. "We can't be held back fighting this guy."
"Agreed." Gray said with a nod as he began to climb out of the ditch.
"Hot Eyes..." Jura muttered, looking back at the Oración Seis member turned ally.
"Please, go quickly!" Hot Eyes yelled before he turned to face Jura, a large smile on his face. "And, my real name is Richard!"
"Revealing your true name to the enemy?" Midnight said in an annoyed tone, glaring at Hot Eyes. "How low you've fallen!"
"You lack love!" Hot Eyes said as he used his magic to liquify all the ground around Midnight, encasing him in a ball of earth. "We cannot let Nirvana be unleashed!"
"I don't want to hear that from a traitor like you!" Midnight exclaimed, using his magic to slice through the ball he was trapped in. "I'll take you down, then have Father judge you!"
"That will not happen!" Hot Eyes said as he clapped his hands together, liquifying two buildings and slamming Midnight with the debris. Screaming in pain, Midnight was slammed into the ground. Tightly balling his fist, Hot Eyes encased Midnight's limbs in liquified earth, before solidifying it again. Clasping his hands behind his back, Hot Eyes stood over Midnight. Growling frustration, Midnight thrashed in an attempt to free himself. "I suggest you stop struggling, I do not wish to hurt you further. That man Jura told me that those with a stronger conviction will always win, that's why you will not defeat me Midnight. For tonight, Oración Seis will see its end."
(Five Minutes Later: With Lucy, Gray, and Jura)
"Hurry guys!" Lucy yelled, leading the small group of mages as they ran through the destroyed city. Stopping for a moment, Lucy sniffed the air several times, perking up when a familiar smell hit her nose. "Natsu is this way, I've got his scent!" Sprinting down a deserted street, Lucy came to a skidding stop when she spotted her pink-haired mate, her face instantly lighting up in joy. "There he is!" However, Lucy's happiness was immediately shattered and replaced with anger when she saw that Natsu was being dragged away by his scarf by Brain, a low growl rumbling in her throat. "Hey you bastard, put Natsu down now!"
"Lucy, please save Natsu!" Wendy pleaded as a few tears fell from her eyes. "That guy is trying to take Natsu away!"
"Oración Seis has lost half its members...they have fallen..." Brain said, stopping and turning to face the light guild mages. "I will use this man to build a new, more powerful, Oración Seis."
"Like hell you will!" Lucy exclaimed as she grabbed her celestial spirit gate keys. "You aren't taking Natsu anywhere!"
"I ain't letting you...take me anywhere..." Natsu managed to say, turning his head to look back at Brain. "Fire Dragon's Maw!" With his mouth engulfed in flames, Natsu bit down into Brain's arm, causing him to roar in pain.
"GAH! You son of a bitch!" Brain screamed as he released Natsu and frantically patted out the flames engulfing his arm. Once the flames were extinguished, Brain growled and grabbed Natsu by his shirt collar, before picking him up and slamming him into the ground. Brain pressed his foot onto Natsu's back as he glared down at the pink-haired dragon slayer. "Looks like you've still got some fight in you! I'll have to fix that!"
"Get...your...fucking foot...off me..." Natsu struggled to say, his face turning pale as a new wave of nausea washed over him. "Fucking...motion sickness..."
"It seems like he's quite under the weather." Jura said as he quirked an eyebrow, surprised by Natsu's sudden sickness. "I've never seen him like this."
"He gets extreme motion sickness on moving vehicles." Gray explained, causing an amused smile to spread across Jura's face. "I know, it's pretty funny."
"Just...hurry up...and kick this guy's ass...and stop this...stupid thing..." Natsu groaned out as he fought back the urge to vomit, his face now turning green.
"Of course! We'll save you, Natsu!" Lucy said as her eyes narrowed dangerously, tightly balling her fists.
"Stop Nirvana?" Brain parroted with a dark chuckle, a menacing aura radiating off his body. "I'd like to see you try! This city will soon reach its target, Cait Shelter!" EVeryone's eyes widened in shock, hearing what Nirvana's first target would be. "I will not allow you to stop our plan!"
"Wendy and Carla's guild...but why?" Happy asked in a shaky tone as he slowly sat up.
"I had a feeling...but to think you're actually going after my guild..." Wendy muttered in an angry tone, tightly balling her fists. "What did my guild ever do to you?!"
"State your true intentions!" Jura exclaimed in a menacing tone as he glared fiercely at Brain. "Why are you taking aim at Wendy's guild?" Brain didn't give Jura a reply, instead, he simply smirked and chuckled darkly. "Did you not hear me? State your intentions, you fiend!"
"I don't have to waste my time talking to small fry like you!" Brain yelled, laughing maniacally as he made a sweeping gesture with his staff. "I am the law of light and darkness! Now, get down on your knees and bow to me!"
"This man really gets on my nerves." Jura said as he took a deep breath, gathering his magic power. "It seems that he is unable to engage in sane conversation."
"Be gone ma-" Brain didn't even get to finish his sentence, before he was hit by a barrage of large stones and rock, sending him flying backward.
"I'm sick of your repulsive attitude." Jura said, cracking his knuckles and advancing towards Brain. "Now, stand back up and fight! You're not allowed to rest until you tell me why your targeting Cait Shelter!"
"W-What is this magic power..." Brain grunted as he tried to dig himself out of the rubble he was trapped under.
"H-Holy shit...I guess that guy is really powerful after all..." Lucy gasped, her eyes widening in shock as she cupped a hand over her mouth. "I guess he's a wizard saint for a reason."
"I see...you definitely surprised me..." Brain said as he wiped some blood from the corner of his mouth. "So it's true that none of the wizard saints are pushovers."
"There are many guilds much closer to us than Cait Shelter." Jura said, his eyes narrowing dangerously, several large stones levitating around him. "So for you to go out of your way to target them means you've got some nefarious goal in mind."
"You'll be dead soon, so I see no need to tell you anything!" Brain said as he raised his staff high into the air, black magic swirling around it. "Dark Rando!" After gathering enough magical energy, Brain fired several streams of black magic at Jura. "Dogs like you should just roll over and die!"
"Iron Rock Bastion!" Forming an 'X' with his arms, Jura created a wall of rock and debris to block Brain's attack.
"Heh, you fell for it!" Brain exclaimed as he dashed around the wall of rock and appeared on Jura's side. Raising his staff once again, Brain fired a more concentrated stream of black magic at Jura. "Dark Capriccio!"
"Hmph!" Jura grunted, making a large sweeping motion with his arm. A split second later, a large piece of rock broke off the wall he had created and blocked Brain's attack. "You'll have to do better than that!"
"You fool! Dark Capriccio specializes in penetrating surfaces!" Brain yelled with a twisted grin as he watched his magic burrow through Jura's stone. "It will slice clean through your rock, then you!"
"You're far too naive!" Jura exclaimed, making another gesture with his arm. A moment later the rock in front of him shifted its position and redirected Brain's attack into the sky. Jura suddenly thrust his arm forward, shattering the protective rock and bombarding Brain with several large stones. Tightly balling his fist, the scattered stones were pulled back and began to encase Brain. After a few moments, the leader of Oración Seis was completely buried in rocks. "Conquerer: Rock Buster!" Clapping his hands together, the rocks encasing Brain burst inward, which caused a small explosion. Brain roared in pain, before collapsing to the ground in an unmoving heap.
"Damn, this guy is no joke..." Lucy muttered as she stared at Jura in shock.
"That guy is Oración Seis' leader, right?" Gray asked, before breathing a sigh of relief. "So I guess that means we've won."
"Now..." Jura said as he crouched down next to Brain and grabbed him by his collar. "You will tell me why you're targeting Wendy's guild!"
"Shouldn't we be worried about stopping this thing?" Lucy asked, resting her hands on her hips.
"I'd...very much...appreciate that..." Natsu groaned out as he sat himself up and leaned against a wall.
"I thought...it'd be impossible...for me to be defeated..." Brain said, staring up at the night sky overhead. "Midnight...the rest is up to you...you can't let Oración Seis fail...because when the six prayers vanish...then that one will..."
"That one?" Jura repeated just before Brain passed out. "Damn it, it looks like we're not going to get anything from him." Leaning closer, Jura noticed something seemed different about Brain's appearance. "Wait...it looks like some of this man's markings disappeared..."
"Natsu..." Wendy said, crouching down next to the nauseous dragon slayer. "I recovered some of my magic, so if you want I can heal you and Happy now."
"WENDY!" A familiar, angry voice exclaimed from overhead. Whipping around, Wendy wasn't surprised to see a very upset Carla flying towards her. "How dare you run off like that! I was scared to death! What if you had gotten hurt!? Just how reckless can you be?!"
"I'm fine Carla, please calm down." Wendy said with a nervous chuckle as she tried to calm down the fuming, white cat. "I had a feeling that Natsu was in trouble...so I just took off...I'm sorry about that. But I just couldn't stand by when my friend is in trouble."
"*Sigh* What am I going to do with you?" Carla muttered, pinching the bridge of her nose. "I'll overlook it this time, but don't ever run off like that again!"
"Sure thing." Wendy said with a smile as she turned her attention back to Natsu and Happy. With hands glowing faintly, Wendy began to heal both Fairy Tail members. "Just relax guys, you should feel better in a few minutes."
"Thanks for helping Natsu out, Wendy." Lucy said with a bright smile, patting the blue-haired dragon slayer on the shoulder. "And there's some good news. We think that Brain guy was the one controlling Nirvana. Now that he's been taking out, we should be able to stop the entire city."
"That's a relief..." Wendy said as she released a light sigh, a small smile spreading across her face. "And you don't have to thank me for helping Natsu out, I'd be there for him any time."
"Hmmm, I still don't like this." Carla muttered, crossing her arms over her chest. "We never ended up finding out why Cait Shelter was being targeted."
"I don't think there's any deep meaning to it." Gray said as he shrugged his shoulders.
"I still have some questions..." Jura said, before standing back up and smiling at the other light guild mages. "But I guess it's over now. We should probably head up to King's Hall and try to stop Nirvana. That should be where we can control this city."
(Same Time: With Hot Eyes)
"Why do you still resist?" Hot Eyes asked as he stared down at Midnight's bloodied and battered form. "It should be apparent that you cannot win, but yet you still fight. Please just give up."
"I'm...having a dream..." Midnight muttered, slowly standing back onto his feet, blood running down his face. "You have dreams too..." Hot Eyes was surprised when a smirk suddenly spread across Midnight's face. "In the middle of the night..." Out of nowhere, Hot Eyes was hit by several invisible blades of magical energy. Screaming in pain, Hot Eyes fell onto his knees, blood trickling out of his mouth. His eyes widened in shock when he saw that all of Midnight's wounds had disappeared. "Magic cannot hurt me."
"H-His wounds...how have they disappeared..." Hot Eyes thought as his vision began to blur.
"You made one mistake earlier." Midnight said, before walking over and grabbing ahold of Hot Eyes hair. Leaning forward, a devious smirk spread across Midnight's face. "All the members of Oración Seis are not equal...I'm the strongest...even better than Father."
"I see now...I made a grave mistake..." Hot Eyes thought before he collapsed to the ground, his consciousness fading. "My prayer...I just wanted to...see my brother's face...one more time..."
"Nirvana will not be stopped as long as I stand..." Midnight said in an ominous tone as he walked away from Hot Eyes' unconscious form.
(Back With the Light Guild Mages)
"The fifth prayer has vanished..." Brain thought, another marking disappearing from his face. "Midnight...you must make sure yours never...disappears...that is my prayer..."
"Ah, what the hell is this?!" Gray grumbled as he stepped in the King's Hall, quickly noticing that the inside of the building seemed to be in utter ruins. "There's nothing here that looks like controls! I thought we could stop this thing once we defeated Brain!"
"We were too naive..." Lucy said, biting her thumb and scanning the room for any possible clues on how to stop Nirvana. "We know nothing about how this place operates."
"S-So how are we going to stop this thing?" Wendy asked, before setting Natsu down against a wall. Despite being healed of Cobra's poison, Natsu was still quite nauseous and groggy. "What wrong Natsu? Did my anti-poison spell not work?"
"Natsu has really bad motion sickness." Happy explained as he landed next to Wendy. "He gets like this whenever he's on a moving vehicle."
"Motion sickness..." Wendy parroted, staring down at Natsu for a few moments before she chuckled lightly. "Don't worry Natsu, I have just the thing for that." Holding up her hand, it soon began to glow bright blue. "I know a spell that will restore your sense of balance." When Wendy pressed her hand against Natsu's chest, he was shocked when his motion sickness instantly began to fade away. "Troia!"
"Holy crap!" Natsu exclaimed with a massive grin as he hopped onto his feet. With a sudden lurch, Nirvana took another step forward, and despite this Natsu felt totally fine. "YEEEEEESSSS! I'm okay! I don't feel like puking my fucking guts out!"
"Thank goodness, I'm glad it worked." Wendy said with a small smile, clasping her hands behind her back.
"You're totally amazing Wendy!" Natsu cheered as he lunged forward and hugged Wendy, even picking her up and spinning her around. The blue-haired dragon slayer squeaked in surprise as her face glowed near neon red. "I wish I knew sky magic too!"
"Good for you Natsu." Lucy said with a smile, approaching both dragon slayers. "Although I'm a little disappointed I won't have to take care of his motion sickness by myself like I usually do."
"Oi, flamebrain..." Gray said as he got the pink-haired dragon slayer's attention, gesturing to the room around them. "We have no way to stop this thing, there's nothing here that will help us."
"But Hot...I mean Richard said that this is where Nirvana is controlled." Jura muttered, stroking his chin. "Could he have been mistaken? I doubt he would have lied."
"Before we waste any more time trying to stop this thing..." Carla said as she flew into the center of the room. "I'm sure you've all noticed something quite strange. There is no pilot's seat...no one in King's Hall...and Brain has been defeated...but even so, this thing is still moving."
"That can only mean one thing..." Gray said, his eyes widening as he came to a grim conclusion. "Nirvana is on autopilot and is set to fire."
"Our...guild..." Wendy said quietly as she cupped a hand over her mouth, tears forming in her eyes. "Everyone will be..."
"Don't worry, Wendy. Your guild will be fine!" Natsu said in a determined tone, placing his hand on top of Wendy's head, doing his best to comfort her. "I will stop this damn thing!"
And done! I figured this was a good stopping point for now. The next chapter will pick up right where this one left off and will have our Fairy Tail mages continuing their attempts to stop Nirvana.
