Dear Delos,
I enjoy this tale very much, especially Bagoas' punishment. It is a bit too cruel even for him - but he behaved very badly and he was very cruel and nasty towards their host Zhuduruck and his poor son who had to impersonate an eunuch. It is a very good illustration to the saying we have up here that "Vanity comes before downfall!"
The true merits of the tale is your *old Nearchos*. I like the old Admiral and the sharing of his memories is most interesting, even if it is tragic, too. He lived through many years of the Wars of the Successors and he must have fount it very sad, indeed.
All the best wishes and many thanks for sharing,

Wonderfully inventive, interesting story. Usually we don't read much about the characters who still lived after Alexander died so this was a treat to read. I recently finished reading Renault's "Funeral Games" for the second time ever, I don't like the book, it upsets me, but your story recalled it to me. I love the little historical tidbits you shared about the nuts and "lip cream". It brings another, more realistic human dimension to the world of Alexander. Loved it!

I would love to read this story from Alexander's/Hephaistion's POV.
Great story. I like to read about revenge, as you know revenge is sweet and Ashlan did it perfectly well. Your Bagoas surely deserved his punishment for his nasty attitude and Alexander should realize his true nature earlier. I am quite disappointed with the way he conduct himself with the eunuch.
Anyway, thank you for the story! :-)
