You know, I think this is the best reading on Methos’s character that I’ve seen on this site. I saw an interview of Peter wingfield that backed this up after I’d read your fic. He said he went into the first episode without knowing anything about Highlander and played Methos straight as the script seems to be written: poor guy has lost his fire. But then when he started doing further episodes and cleaning out the character, he felt Methos would probably always be working an angle due to his long experience and extensive research. He said he’d never really trust Methos. But it didn’t sound very negative. More that what you see is never exactly what’s going on. Your fics write Methos that way and I love it.

This is the type of Methos that should have had his own series.

I enjoy your Methos stories. I didn't really have the patience to enjoy inception - maybe as a mini-series it would have kept my attention better than trying to get it all into one movie. However, I do very much like your take on trying to do additional or continuing adventures of the characters.

I love how Methos tricked the bank robbers here. Arthur was an interesting point of view as well. Any chance of a third chapter? I keep thinking of how this sounds like a recipe for one of those light-hearted news reports about how things go wrong for the criminals. Of course, some of the robbers were killed even though the hostages seem to be ok so maybe the news couldn't be light-hearted about it.
Another possibility would be the head guy's reaction to the discovery that Methos wasn't the bank manager and had probably been in the process of robbing the bank. I'm not sure how much arrested people are allowed to learn before a trial though. Their defense lawyers might be allowed to tell them, but would they themselves have access to the news?

Now that was total fun. Great writing: you're presenting all relevant facets of the situation without being obvious, but with a good measure of wit. Love the way Methos and Arthur are aware of each other. Both are quite in character, especially Methos, naturally, as there's much more background to go on for him. I've always admired his ability and readiness to act dumb. Thank you for sharing

Again, not really sure who the characters are and why they are robbing banks and killing people in the real world, but I liked your dramatization of a new identity for Methos.

Love it! Methos acting stoned is too funny. I also enjoyed the inner workings of Methos' thought process. Go with the flow does seem to suit him.
