Forgiveness is a word that can mean many things to people. For some who have lived so long without forgiving themselves for their past mistakes it could become a sort of comfort because they believe it is their penance. There's a good bet that most if not all people who desire to help others will always focus, and regret those they couldn't help. Saying if only regarding situations in the past can consume you if you are not careful. One can always look back in the past, and see other ways that could have been taken that might have been successful.
While Thomas Wayne wasn't religious his wife Martha Wayne was a Christian. It is probably this reason that their son Bruce Wayne has shown to believe in God, or has shown strong indications to believe in God because of his praying in his bedroom to avenge his parent's deaths. Batman's humanitarian parent's teachings were instrumental to his belief that deep down people can be good, and everyone can be saved. "Because if my father taught me one thing, Jim, it's that all life is precious." It would be interesting to know if Batman would have been more happy if his godfather Alfred treated him more as a son in his early years. Alfred has expressed his regret from time to time in not treating Bruce as the father figure he should have been in. "It would be as fruitless as my wondering... ...Had I been a different sort of father to you, how better your life might be..." (Alfred from Batman: The Long Halloween) While Batman sees Alfred as a father figure, and trusts him the most out of everyone else he can still be cold, and distant to him.
Being rich, and powerful will never exclude someone to life's unpredictability. One day you can be the top of the world, and the next you can hit rock bottom. Everyone suffers one way or another in life, that's the unfortunate truth to the world we live in. Dying is easy, living on the other hand is hard. One could compare dying to falling, anyone can fall but to climb to live is always going to be harder. You cannot truly understand something, or someone unless you experience it firsthand. To make the moments of great suffering define you, and make you desire to improve will always be one of the greatest driving factors to achieving one's full potential. Batman is defined by that night when his parents died, and his desire to improve himself to prevent others from suffering what he went through. While Batman could stoop to his enemies level in his mission to stop crime he is aware that action would only contribute to the cycle of sin which many throughout time have done. "Dare to reach out your hand into the darkness to pull another hand into the light." (Norman B. Rice) The right, and easy way are almost never parallel in life.

So iv only read through bits of the first chapter and I admit iv only seen the death note anime and some brake downs and deeper looks at certain characters. That said have to say light doesn’t seem believable true the dialogue does fit better as a Batman villain, but light was never so showy or even that openly boastful. yes he did have his moments true, but light aspired to be a god his boast we’re normally well thought out almost tamed in a way look at what happened with L he killed him and didn’t parade about all look at me a win haha I just don’t believe this is death notes light. (I have to admit again this light definitely fits more in the Batman world with those types a villains and the crazy skill with which the original is written is hard to mimic. This isn’t a fault of the author mind you simply a further appreciation for the works of the original as for what the author has created if you like Batman you’ll probably like this so give it a look.)(also keep in mind the opinions and thoughts here are from a limited pool of source material for all I know the light in the mangas or elsewhere could be quite different so take the sugar with the salt.)

More and more forces are coming into this inevitable war between Batman and Kira. You would think that a powerful criminal organization would understand the difference between necessary risks and needless risks regardless of the rewards. Even if they do catch Batman and Kira (doubtful) holding them (especially Batman) is the real problem. The Batman Who Laughs for example was in one of the most secured prisons in the Multiverse and he had ways of escaping whenever he wanted. The only reason he stayed there was because he wanted to.
It will be interesting to see if Light can actually be number one in Arkham, or if Joker will still have that spot. Those two do share similarities regarding how they found their biggest obstacles to their plans interesting (Light with Lawliet and Joker with Batman). Both have someone who they manipulated to feel special and who are fanatically devoted to them (Harley to Joker and Teru to Light). Both are willing to go to great lengths to achieve their goals. Both have been underestimated or dismissed due to their appearances. Both have the charisma, tactical acumen, and fortitude to lead armies. Both are extremely dangerous.

You know what would be funny? If Deadpool showed up and threw a copy of the Death Note manga at Light, just to see his reaction. Actually, since you've mentioned Wade Wilson as far back as the earlier chapters, will the Merc With A Mouth make any appearances at all?
Also, this is SUPERBLY written and enthralling. Keep up the good work. :)

And... Divya is going to be Light's own Harley Quinn. Poor girl.

Interesting. The world's Greatest Detective meets Kira. So... since you've made it clear that Marvel characters coexist with DC characters in this story's universe, are we gonna see Deadpool show up at any point? Or what about the Hulk? And how exactly would Light react to these individuals?
But, even MORE importantly... when does The Joker show up?

The unequivocally best DC as well as Death Note fanfic I've yet to read. And not because the protagonists are Batman and Light, but because you are brilliant and amazingly dedicated author.
Thank you for the story, thrilled for more to come.

Well, I don't know how the notifications never came to e-mailing me the updates of this awesome story and I've still got another chapter to go. The conversation between Light and Dent in this chapter was pure gold, especially the way Light just manipulated him in his own sense of telling truths within a lie. I could truly envision this scene as if it were an animation or reading it as a manga or comic and it was spectacular! I'll be back soon with a review for chapter 15 of this great story.

Superman and Wonder Woman made excellent points on life. No surprise there though since they have had time to experience much in life, even seeing the best and worst life can offer. Superman was wrong though when he said 'Well I'm an evil person so I think I'll go do some evil things today.' There are a few people that know they're evil and do evil things anyway and don't justify their actions. Why there's only a few though is like Batman said "that every villain is the hero of his own story". It's a sad fact that many good men who fall justify their actions and believe themselves right when they're not. Joker (DC) and Blackbeard (Pirates of the Caribbean) are examples of men who know they're bad and what they do is wrong but do it anyway. There are a few men in the world right now that are like that as well.
If you are going for a Batman and Wonder Woman pairing you've got my vote. They were always my favorite fictional couple. If there was any woman who could stay by Batman's side through thick and thin it would be Wonder Woman. They're both stubborn, brave, courageous, passionate, and have an enormous sense for justice. They're practically made for each other.

Wow, just wow. The amount of ingenuity and emotion you put into this story is stunning. I believe I know how Batman and Yagami met and here's my theory: Joker came to Tokyo or wherever Yagami was at this point in time and took him and a bunch of people hostage and Batman saved him and everyone else. And that was the day Yagami heard the Joker's evil, demented laugh and where he saw Batman as someone he stroved to be like. The reason I think this is what happened is because the way Yagami described Joker's laugh to Two Face. It sounded way too intimate to me how he described the Joker's laugh to have been heard on T.V. More like he heard it in person and not through a T.V. Screen.
It's times like this that make me feel really sorry for Harvey. He was like, well the best way to put it was how Hugo Strange described him in those Arkham City Interview Tapes. "A rising star, a beacon of light for this city. A white knight riding in to save it." But it looks like Yagami was able to succeed were Strange could not, which was bringing Two Face to his side. I believe this was because Yagami could relate more to Two Face then Strange could (also being a better manipulator probably helped.) Strange is only interested in self benefit and has been like that for a long time, he doesn't understand what it's like to put his wants aside and try with all his heart and soul to help others. Dent and Yagami do know what's it's like to try and help others without any benefit for themselves. They also share in common transforming into sick twisted versions of themselves by falling into the abyss and becoming what they once hated and fought against. If you ask me I believe Two Face thinks Yagami is Kira or at the very least suspects him to be Kira.
You are very gifted at understanding characters and writing what they would say or do in these situations. And Yagami does make valid points about Humanity (not everything he said was right though.) We are flawed beings no matter how you look at it, whether your an Theist or an Atheist that is undeniably true about us. But just because were flawed doesn't mean we can't try to do good. There are more evil things in the world than good but there is still good nonetheless. Even in the time of Noah were evil all but ruled the world there was still good. This goes to show that while there may be evil, corruption, and violence there is also good, love, and compassion in the world. Thus Yagami's statement of mankind being fated forever to be doomed to remain in the fiery pits of Hell because of us simply choosing not to get out of the dark and into the light is false. There is such a thing fate and destiny but it is not predestined or written in stone. It all boils down to one thing and one thing only: Choice. Sure there may be people that try and trick or force people to do things but it is ultimately that person's choice. You can choose to accept the destiny that you've made for yourself or you can simple walk away from it. Therefore if Yagami believes that man chooses Damnation over Salvation and that is how it is always going to be then he's missed the fact that man can easily choose Salvation over Damnation and that man is not fated to be forever cursed to the fiery pits of Hell.

I must say, in the process of creating a crossover between the The Dark Knight and Kira, you've put together an exquisite shared universe of the MCU and (presumably) the DCAU. Quite frankly, it would be criminal to let this story be the only outlet for it. If you found the time, could you consider making other stories that explore the universe you've created even deeper? If only to satisfy our curiosity?
