Dear Delos,
This is hilarious. Poor Alexander. You allow us to actually *see* and *feel* his remorse and regrets after his cruel and senseless words to Hephaestion. The journey offers Alexander some well needed introspection and knowledge of himself. A secret journal is a very good way of managing ones anger and extrovert feelings. We also get to know much of the secret aspects of Macedonian court life. :)

The incipit of Alex' journal is priceless. He really thinks he's going to write another Iliad! But the whole brooding about the accident is hilarious. I can figure Alex sitting at his desk, nervously chewing his pen, uncertain about what to do... I agree with Alex that Roxane's timing is upsetting, but the way you described poor Bagoas made me laugh to tears, as much as the hint to Alex' anger management problems!

Hello Delos,
I like A LOT how you started the chapter, it was both very interesting and also a little misterious, it makes you want to know Alexander's version on events that someone else recorded.
This was so funny, I can absolutely see Alexander like this, writing erratically, especially because I have always imagine him as a hyperactive child. I have always thought he was a man of action, so I don't think he would have had the time or he would have wanted to lose time siting down to write a diary.
But my fav part was this: "Had a wet dream about Hephaistion. Actually, several of those" Hahahaha! OMG! I laughed so hard.
