Very late R&R on this. I enjoy reading it, you give us a new and fresh view on this most humiliating outburst of Alexander's. I like it how you let all the important characters react to the cruel words. I can guess who are omitted. :) It seems that all are on Hephaestion's side, of course me, too.

Hermes asking that Apollo inspired Alexander to take the rout through the desert is great, and I laughed so much reading Brad Pitt's opinion XD
My favorite was this "The only subject Alexander ever failed in my classes was a correct use of pronouns!" ^^
