I ship Ko and Izu. The few times we see them in the anime/manga they're always together.
Haku is precious and I love the caring nature and fierce determination to take care of Ranmaru. Those two will be good for each other as they have similar backgrounds. This was legit perfection. WHO IS HAKUS CRUSH?! Also, Ranmaru is sooooo cute and my heart melted right alongside Kenta's. Do NOT let Kono hear she is being replaced by Ranmaru. That would spell the end of the Leaf as we know it!
I love Kenta's ability to switch from hardass to cinnamon roll in the blink of an eye. You can tell he's very serious about his craft and expects the same from others. As long as they meet his standards, Kenta is a big 'ole Teddy Bear. The punishment is soooo cruel! How do people keep displeasing him after the first humiliating time of running naked in public?!
Please, keep letting Kenta refer to his subordinates as Minions. I love this.
The assessment and promotions were spot on. I'm glad Itachi isn't just handing them out like candy. He's fair and sets clear guidelines on what his minions need to do to make the next rank. It's a good standard, well done.
Kenta and Tori interactions are legit the best in this story IMO. It started out as this loving doting mother, to I'm so proud of you you're becoming a man, to I am freaking over your dramatic ass. Get rekt. I still love you, but I just can't anymore. This is awesome. Tori is still best Mom ever.
Ami, once again, shows how badass she is. Turning Tori on her oldest son, corrupting Kono and Hanabi. I can just imagine her in that red dress, seducing guys left and right and then leaving them with their head spinning.

The dinner scene. I could go on and on. I will simply say I too had some dust in my eyes at a few points, so I feel Kenta's frustration on that. Overall, this was a beautifully written scene and really shows the importance that Kenta plays on the world you've written. Well done!

Can we have an entire scene of drunk Ino speaking in slurred Medieval English?! I cackled at "To the victor goes the spoils!" I could hear her insane cackling in my head. Fucking fabulous dude.
Also, completely random - "The bars close in two hours!" instantly made me think of "AH! MY LEG!" and I don't know why.
Kenta getting jealous of himself... Just... I have no words. He is a damn conundrum sometimes. This little scene was adorable and I absolutely love these two together. They're perfect for each other.
Now to the serious stuff... These visions... I fear they're going to kill Kenta. Each one he has gets worse and worse. Does he need to get his memories back soon fully?!

I don't know what to feel. Part of me is relieved. I think that if he had curb-stomped Pain at this point I wouldn't love this story so much. But holy shit... Kenta is literally on death's door! It was... nice to show that Kenta is NOT infallible and that there are still many, many men and women that can kick his ass as easily as he defeated Raiga.
But fuck, dude! I love Kenta and I don't like seeing him like this! My brain hurts! I love the realistic OC you've created but part of me wants him to be OP so this doesn't happen again!

Well, I'm lost, let's run through what happened at the end.
Kenta and Naruto arrived just in time to prevent Jiraya from dying.
Naruto sealed Jiraya's body in a transport scroll, and left for Konoha. (This sort of implies that Naruto, for one reason or another, can't transport people with the Hiraishin)
Kenta and Pein fight, Kenta is defeated, Naruto shows up, realizes he doesn't have another transport scroll and takes Kenta to Konoha using the Hiraishin.
That's where I am very confused, the briefing from Itachi sort of implies that Naruto will follow Kenta to Rain and bring both Jiraya and Kenta back to Konoha with the Hiraishin, but, after they arrive, it feels like Naruto literally abandoned a physically exhausted Kenta to fight someone that had nearly killed Jiraya for no reason.
Well, I'm lost, let's run through what happened at the end.

I can't even finish this chapter. The whole psychotic break thing that happened at the funeral just seems out of character and kills the story. I don't know what you were going for with this, if it was some remnant of Hidan or some side effect of unlocking the memory seal, or what. Still, it doesn't fit the character. I will probably try to read this chapter again in about a week, maybe a month. Hopefully I will be able to get through it at that point.
Honestly, I have very much enjoyed the story until that point, and hope if I manage to get through it you will have more of the story to go.

4/14 c6 Didn't Give Up
Another excellent chapter. Overall, I loved the balance of action and story/character progression. There were some exceptionally hilarious moments in this chapter that had me actually laughing out loud. The entire dialogue of trolling Sasuke/Kishimoto for the MS development (which you actually brought up some really good points that have me theory crafting). To Kenta's overall attitude/contenance in this chapter. He was really, really enjoyable this chapter. I love his interactions with his friends and enemies. He's a fun OC that I'm enjoying immensely. I think it's because he's actually real/relateable.
"Oi! You grumpy old miser! You wait a damn second before you go on a murder rampage! We're discussing young love over here!"
That part had me laughing exceptionally hard. Because... Kakuzu IS a grumpy old miser.
Also, plus 10 to Hufflepuff for even using the word Miser. First time I've seen someone use it in a fanfic.
Everything else was just really well done. The fight scenes were on point, as usual. Kenta's different personas when dealing with friend or foe. His paternal/big brother side coming out the second he sees Ranmaru. Just overall, a very pleasant chapter to read.

Im so glad Kenta is back to his usual spunky self. As much as I enjoyed emo Kenta. Normal kenta is a Cinamon roll. I love that you showed his "lightswitch." One minute he's bouncing on his toes, genuinely excited for his friends success, and then BAM! Serious Kenta team Captain has arrived! I feel like you either are or were military? Or at least a military brat? You write that type of commanding officer/subordinate scenes so well. That's really how it is. Your Sergeant is hyping you up, being your biggest fan one moment... shit hits the fan and he's THE GUY. You aren't friends anymore. Your superior and subordinate. I loved that about the opening scene.
The campfire scene is life. Im usually not one for these types of scenes, but I just highly enjoy the character dynamics you have going on.
I LOVE Sakura more in every scene you write her in. 10 chapters ago I wanted her dead. Shes back on my list. Her and Sasuke both in this story are FANTASTIC.
Keeping her in the medical field but in this research capacity is such a smart move. I love it. Haku nailed it. New research and groundbreaking discoveries have saved MILLIONS of lives over history.

Saskue and Sakura vs Kakuzu was... Awesome. Just enough action to show what their training paid off, but not overly done that the fight scene drug on like an entire arc of DBZ. The black lightning is an awesome addition and makes sense. Daruis black lightning is achieved with a seal, why not this one? Maybe its actually true?! Sakura was BAD. ASS. Again, you highlight her overlooked strengths in canon and make them 'UUUGGEEE boosts to her fighting style. Was she doing all her jutsus without handseals, btw? That's how it seemed. Either I just embarrassed you for forgetting them, or sakuras control was once again highlighted but in a SUPER subtle way.. if its the ladder, can I have your address to send you a trophy?
LOL TO THE GIRLY-MAN CLUB! YES! SASUKE CURSE FORM 2 IS OFFICIALLY IN!
Kudos/Quick mention for more world/lore building with the clan dynamics vs village... Awesome exchange there. and it makes sense! Its like... the US States vs the Federal government.
Kenta vs Raiga was perrrfffff. It was a super smart choice to have him dip his feet into the water with such a trash opponent. I also like the mix of storm vs mind in this fight. The blending of styles was great. You also highlighted a trait that made some of the most dangerous canon characters so dangerous. Kentas ability to break down an opponents abilities/jutsus/gimmicks is evolving every fight. How quickly he deduced RanRans dojutsu was Itachi/Hiruzen style.
Awwwwww Sasuke has feelings! Haku is precious. Sakura is also precious but also getting a sharp tongue and I live for it! I really like that you highlighted and broke down WHY Kenta and Sasuke are friends. You didn't need to, as the relationship is clear as day as you read the story... But this was a nice little convo that really drove home the point of how important these two are to each other.
Sasuke is 100% correct... Kenta would annoy Sasuke to the point of a aggravated assault/attempted murder. I want a spin-off of these two just giving into fate and accepting their love for one another. SORRY FU!
Ok.. that last scene. Much emotions.
Kenta went big brother mode SO QUICK AND RANMARU OMG I LOVE HIM! I could feel his fear then his hope. Haku is a GEM, and I love that EVERYONE just rolled with Miss Haku. Kenta's natural leadership shone through here once again. Quickly alleviating his subordinates anxiety and fears without giving her empty words and false promises. He's right. Like Itachi Uchiha would let anyone turn sweet cinnamon roll RanRan into a breeding factory. The Ketsuryugan truly is a powerful dojutsu… I doubt well see it in action in your fic (unless you do a boruto era third book?! PLEASE?!) but its cool to know that one day it will be a prevalent dojutsu of Konoha.
Ok... Last scene. My god. Kenta terrified me, in a good way. He 'seemed' to be at that unhinged madness tipping point, but it was controlled this time. it was, once again, all an act to induce as much fear and panic as possible.
I have to agree with Haku. I never thought id feel sorry for a dude that took pleasure in burying people alive... but my god does that poison sound absolutely terrifying. I would literally take any other death over something like that.
You are EVIL for writing that and I love it!
Thank you for the acknowledgement at the end that even if Kenta 'seems' normal, hes still recovering from the loss of his ather and he may never be the same again. im glad youre not just sweeping his mental collapse under the rug like it never happened. I have a feeling this is a reoccurring theme for a long while.

Kenta went big brother mode SO QUICK AND RANMARU OMG I LOVE HIM! I could feel his fear then his hope. Haku is a GEM, and I love that EVERYONE just rolled with Miss Haku. Kenta's natural leadership shone through here once again. Quickly alleviating his subordinates anxiety and fears without giving her empty words and false promises. He's right. Like Itachi Uchiha would let anyone turn sweet cinnamon roll RanRan into a breeding factory. The Ketsuryugan truly is a powerful dojutsu… I doubt well see it in action in your fic (unless you do a boruto era third book?! PLEASE?!) but its cool to know that one day it will be a prevalent dojutsu of Konoha.
Ok... Last scene. My god. Kenta terrified me, in a good way. He 'seemed' to be at that unhinged madness tipping point, but it was controlled this time. it was, once again, all an act to induce as much fear and panic as possible.
I have to agree with Haku. I never thought id feel sorry for a dude that took pleasure in burying people alive... but my god does that poison sound absolutely terrifying. I would literally take any other death over something like that.
