Are you SURE that Cap is Grant's dad? Because that is some Wolverine level healing factor going on. I know Cap heals(ed) faster than most people, but ejecting the bullets? Are you sure Logan isn't the Daddy? Also ... Grant and Allyson are SO not ready for sex if they can't even begin to talk about it.
Cracking up at how mad Crossbones is. He was totally asking for it! and Viper and Victor? Eew. I'm glad even Dr. Doom wasn't dumb enough to go for that poisonous bitch. Even if he cracks me up talking about himself in third person. Totally creeped out at Viper eyeballing little Grant though. That's just nasty. Don't do that.

oh, I got the icks picturing Sharon and Clint. I just can't see that pairing.
and wow. everyone is crazy op'd in this story. Including the truck! Hit ANY person and your car is totaled. But this lil old rust bucket hit your buffalo sized crossbones and drives off? Also wow. Crossbones is a really shitty shot, isn't he - for an assassin.

ooooh. I don't like how there is no trust for Quartermain. He is easily one of the very coolest and best agents in the biz. (with Coulson fighting him for top spot, of course) I'm also a little skeptical that the internet would have up to date information on how long it takes to trace. that would blow the edge the spooks have!

OH WOW. There is a lot going on here. I love that Grant learned how to work on cars from mom (that's how it is in my head. Don't ruin it and say otherwise.) and I love that he's finding like the ony gas station that still operates like it's Happy Days times or something. I do NOt trust this new shield director. at all. And was the shop dude real short or something? Crossbones is 6'4" ... that doesn't seem like nearly as huge as described.

ooooh start of this chapter has me wantin' to slap the taste right outta his mouth. That is NOT how you speak to your mother, YOUNG MAN. (laugh with me now)
Okay. this whole thing turned into a lovely mother/son moment after all ... it took a little time to get there, and I like the angle of him having kinda sorta known mom was an agent all along. (good boy. Observant.)
Very fun action sequence - lots of drama and explosions and baddies gettin it handed to them. Grant did WELL under pressure - not that I'm surprised. Looking forward to where you're taking him. Poor lad.
I do have Questions though. One big one, though if you're set to explain it later on, I'll be patient.
How did the serum pass on to Grant?
Why did it not kick in immediately if it was something he got from his dad?
Or is he a mutant and Cap's DNA had been changed and NOW it's kicking in because he's of age?
Also ... I'm forever going to giggle to myself now because CLEARLY Cap was a late bloomer, and Grant totally takes after Dad like that too.

I promise there are a lot of Very Serious Thoughts I have, but as I read this, my first real comment is 'OOOOOOOoooOOOOOOO WHO'S ALLISON? HMMMMMM? ALLY AND BABYCAP SITTIN IN A TREE ...'
Sorry. I'll be more adult. One day. Not today. Probably.
This is a VERY different Sharon than the one at the end of the last book. This one is demure to her son. Who she raised to be strong and respectful to his mother. Or did she? I get teenagers being rebellious, but seeing as I have a ridiculous amount of experience with teenagers this age that are homeschooled, Grant seems a little bit demanding compared to 'normal' homeschoolers. (they are tiny level headed adults 98% of the time. It's unsettling.)
I'm sure we're in for a ride, but Sharon needs to pull her head out. If she's raised Captain America 2.0, I don't see why the hell she'd be all .. mush around him like this. She was the iron lady last we saw her - and I'm sure she did a fine job raising him, but I don't get the sudden quiet apologetic 'youre in charge' mess here.
