I can imagine that for you as a writer putting your own spin and interpretation of the game's events, the law ending would be the quickest one to write for since after having to fight and thus slay Lucifer,the game is pretty much done. The reason why they had to fight YHVH at the end contradicted the entirety of the Law path and was a huge stretch. I could not buy into Satan turning on his creator like that and judging it even if YHVH was guilty of the crime of genocide. It was a last ditch effort to provide a final boss when Lucifer could have easily fulfilled that role. Plus now without God to believe in and them being stuck up in space forever,how can they expect Aleph and Hiroko can attend to the chosen people's needs. In this story of yours especially, Aleph would make for a terrible leader. Messiah or not,space is not exactly a pleasant place to live in despite what a whole bunch of fictional media tend to portray it.
The chaos path would be very interesting to see. Satan and Gabriel are not going to be happy about that for sure. How will they escape Eden in one piece? Will Lucifer keep his end of the bargain? Will the mutants accept Aleph as their savior? Without Millennium to live in,can the rest of humanity survive in the underground or on the surface?
Obviously, the neutral path is going to be the most challenging and lengthy one. Without any meaningful assistance,I don't realistically see how Aleph, Hiroko, and the demons they befriended can take on everybody by themselves.
On the topic of both halves uniting to form Satan,I will say that I vastly prefer SMT II's original take on it than Apocalypse's. I mean really? It has been retconned so that both Lucifer and Merkabah are the two halves that are required to form Satan? When in both IV and Apocalypse,they have spent the entire game at each other's throats? That is a bit much to comprehend. Maybe if I had played Apocalypse,there might be a well formed explanation but alas I lack a 3DS. Or I could look it up on the wikia I suppose.

I am so deeply sorry for posting the same review twice, but I had accidentally hit the submit button before I was finished with what I had to say.
Despite how powerful Aleph may be and the demons he has either recruited or fused at the Heretic Mansion, thirteen consecutive boss fights will tire out even the strongest warrior. Lucifer has a really sadistic way of testing people whom holds his interest. If anyone is capable of pretending to be Demiurge,then Atavaka would probably possess the intelligence and capability to do so. Also another shake up compared to who originally attempted to deceive Aleph before attacking him.
Louis did not even wait until the two of them reached Kether Castle before revealing his true identity. Considering how badly hurt Aleph was,he was left with no other choice.
One gigantic plot hole the game never bothered addressing and a massive issue I am deeply concerned about is how exactly would the last remaining humans personally selected by YHVH itself go about living in space. Where will they get their food? Is the spaceship even equipped to deal with possibly drifting into space for a very long period before a suitable replacement for Earth is found? What if none is ever found? Are they expected to be content with staying aboard there forever? What about oxygen? What if they encounter hostile aliens?

Then again what difference does it make for YHVH. It could simply design more obedient human beings or another race of far superior beings more obedient to it and its utter nonsense.
At least this version of Astaroth is not as menacing and difficult as say Capcom's own version of the demon lord in the Ghosts & Goblin series. Having both Ishtar and Ashtar as allies will truly ease the burden placed upon them.
Aleph has to make a very critical and important decision,on that affects the entire world for everyone; not only with the last remaining human beings left but with the mutants and demons alike.
Unlike with Lucifer though,I cannot imagine both Zayin/Satan and Gabriel will give him any time to think things over much less accept no as an answer and then let him leave there alive.
Also there is the wild card of Stephen. Won't be show up and offer up another alternative choice?
How will he sway Aleph into abandoning both Lucifer and Gabriel to fight for humanity when there is barely any left worth protecting?
So many questions,so little time to dwell on them and discover the answers which may or may not be satisfactory.

Come to think of it,as was the case in say for example Fallout 3,you learn that there is thriving albeit grim,dangerous, and unforgiving world outside of the cramped but comforting vaults. So maybe there could be more human beings around the world who have somehow managed to survive both the nuclear bombardment and Great Flood. The underworld is proof enough that there remains life outside of Millennium. Not a great one mind you, but it is good enough.
I must say once more you have completely shocked me. This completely optional area within the game is worth visiting not so much for the five luck incenses which while a nice little present and all,you do not really need them unless you plan on exploring the endgame dungeon after you beat the game, but saved right before Eden or Kether Castle if on the Law path.
More importantly though, you get to learn the frightening truth.
There is no monetary price that can be placed on receiving helpful knowledge.
This has to be the most philosophical chapter you have ever written. It would make complete sense for somebody of very high intelligence such as as Gimmel to attempt persuade both Aleph and Hiroko into hearing him out instead of simply fighting them after learning the horrible truth.
It is also going to depend heavily on how Aleph thinks about the whole thing. I mean either critical decision one can make on what to do with Arcardia has large ramifications apart from simply leaving it alone. They are all intent and purposes still alive and not being harmed. On the other hand though,is it really worth living in a make believe world? As already established within the game's universe itself,there are not that many human beings left in the world.
To put it in another way,it is somewhat similar to being in a self inflicted coma but without bring harmed or sleeping peacefully forever.
Your own take in which Aleph and Hiroko can met up with Beth later on via another optional location is also a very unexpected and drastic departure.I also hope you have them visiting that specific area. You know for some nice fan service for those of us who read through the first SMT novelization of yours.
On one hand,it is most splendid she may be brought back in the real world. But sadly without any of the memories both horrible and pleasant to accompany Beth in her impeding revival, will it really worth the effort? There is no telling what will happen should they be reunited.
But of course Gimmel has an ulterior motive to bring her back to the realm of the living.
Towards the end of this chapter,that is one of the few negative aspects of being gifted with abnormally high intelligence. You overthink things too much.
Not even deep within the Abyss can one escape one of the two constant aspects of life: taxes.
Gimmel has met a very worthy opponent who can easily match him in sheer brilliance and easily overpower him should it come down to a fight. Without a shadow of a doubt, Louis informed his most trust worthy right hand demon about the existence of Arcardia. This is going to cause Gimmel unnecessary headaches from here on out.

I have never heard of this Foul Joker demon. Is it from the Persona series or just a mere reference to said series? I do know that the protagonist from Persona 5 goes by that nickname, but I highly doubt he becomes a demon. It is alright. The fan translation for SMT II is much better than the one provided for SMT I, but it is not perfect either.

Try as he might, Louis Cypher was not able to completely hide his true nature. But then again,he has succeeded enough on the mere grounds that not even Aleph is able to decipher who he is truly is with his special gift.
It is odd for them to be encountering a kinnari so late into the journey, but then again,this is just me overthinking this rather minor detail as Kazuya and his allies encounter them much earlier during their journey when they were together.
Aleph better be careful as to which demons he lets it slip out he is the Messiah. I sincerely doubt most of them would be pleased to discover the truth about him even if he is not working directly for God.
But my goodness his gift is really something special to cause such a major reaction when a mere demon touched him.
Aleph's basic comprehensions skills and rational though still leave a lot to be desired. I bet Kazuya would have understand what the Gedou Joker meant about the true embodiment of chaos even if he did not get the full meaning behind the statement. So how many demons does Aleph currently have? He keep fusing them,recruiting new ones, and the cycle continues on loop.
As he and Hiroko continue to journey deeper into the Abyss,his demon allies need to be as powerful as he is just as long as he does not try to fuse or recruit any above his current level.
Tiamat was not too tough in my own playthrough, but her ability to poison everyone could be pretty annoying to deal with.
Ah I see now. I remember that initially it was recruited as an orc before it became a Frost Giant and then its evolution forms went way off the trajectory path. I don't know how powerful Gedou Jokers are but one thing is for,it will be vastly interesting to see if being in Aleph's mere presence will end its offbeat mutations or merely cause it to kick into overdrive.
So Aleph is like a gigantic light bulb while traveling deep within the Abyss. If he gives off such intense light in that manner,then there is now way he will be able to hide or snake his way into any locations down there.
At the very least Hecate should have put up one hell of fight as you could not fight her at all unless it was a new moon. Otherwise I imagine that she would merely destroy you without breaking a sweat. Although I would have preferred that depending on which phase of the moon you choose to fight Hecate determines the actual difficulty. The higher it is, the harder she gets and vice versa.
Still though,Aleph better not get too complacent. He still has a long way to go before he reaches Kether Castle.
Nice. Getting the legendary Susano will help them out tremendously.
The power Set gave off was able to stun even Aleph. Just wait until he finds out who exactly is the other half of that legendary dragon.
Now that is a true test of endurance there,having to fight trough 14 powerful demons. Even if you were to shorten it so that they fight up to to say four of them at a time,it is not going to be easy for them.
Louis Cypher is doing a great job of keeping his a very close eye on both of them just to gauge if he can later persuade Aleph to join his cause. He has to secretly hate holding back his immense power just so that his real identity is not given away before it is time to do so.
He is not doing the whole typical cliche of waiting around for the hero to finally arrive at the nefarious lair of the villain. No siree. A man of action. I can respect that.
Maybe Aleph can fuse Isthar. She was a very valuable ally for me.
Thank goodness,Aleph and Hiroko did not have to get swallowed whole by Abbadon. I never did try to find out what would happen if you even dared to fight Abbadon without the crucial MAG presser. That is wonderful you chose to have Mekata live even if you already spoiled what he had wanted to tell the two of them.

You know to be quite honest even after playing though and beating the second SMT game three times on each single path (Law, Chaos, and Neutral) did I ever stop to ponder what Anoon did do Dealeth was pretty horrific. I mean yeah I completely understand that she legitimately harbors some really deep romantic feelings for Dealth, but having to use the Infidelity Sep to kindof coax him into falling in love with her is a despicable action fictional or not. If the genders were to be reversed, not a single character would have let such an situation occur uncontested. That is some frightening double standards to be holding.
What is going to happen once the effects of the Infidelity Sep wears off and Daleth is to discover what Anoon did to him? Starting a relationship romantic or platonic based on deception is never a great idea.
Puck wasted a good bottle of Sealilly Sap since even if it were to connect on Aleph, it would do nothing as he cannot use magic in the first place although it might prevent him for using his gift,assuming of course if it is even based in magic.
Getting a small taste of the benefits heading down the chaos path. Plus how can one say no to free makka and the item in question.
What a major bummer. I was eagerly anticipating to read about Aleph's suppose killer dance moves. Even better is Delath and Annon getting a chance to share a dance together.
Thanks to Moloch,even if there were any alarms there after Aleph has smashed through the glass covered box containing the Moon Pillar,nobody would be around to respond,saving them the trouble of having to fight to keep it.
Welcome to the Abyss. Even as powerful Aleph may be at this point in time,the Abyss will really be the ultimate test for him and Hiroko. There are a lot of extremely powerful demons and demon lords to fight well before they are anywhere near Kether Castle. Then of course they will have to make the final and ultimate decision as to where their true allegiance lies.
What fate lies in store for mother and son? Who are their enemies? Who are their allies? So many questions left unanswered.

I mean yeah I completely understand that she legitimately harbors some really deep romantic feelings for Dealth, but having to use the Infidelity Sep to kindof coax him into falling in love with her is a despicable action fictional or not. If the genders were to be reversed, not a single character would have let such an situation occur uncontested. That is some frightening double standards to be holding.
What is going to happen once the effects of the Infidelity Sep wears off and Daleth is to discover what Anoon did to him? Starting a relationship romantic or platonic based on deception is never a great idea.
Puck wasted a good bottle of Sealilly Sap since even if it were to connect on Aleph, it would do nothing as he cannot use magic in the first place although it might prevent him for using his gift,assuming of course if it is even based in magic.
Getting a small taste of the benefits heading down the chaos path. Plus how can one say no to free makka and the item in question.
What a major bummer. I was eagerly anticipating to read about Aleph's suppose killer dance moves. Even better is Delath and Annon getting a chance to share a dance together.
Thanks to Moloch,even if there were any alarms there after Aleph has smashed through the glass covered box containing the Moon Pillar,nobody would be around to respond,saving them the trouble of having to fight to keep it.
Welcome to the Abyss. Even as powerful Aleph may be at this point in time,the Abyss will really be the ultimate test for him and Hiroko. There are a lot of extremely powerful demons and demon lords to fight well before they are anywhere near Kether Castle. Then of course they will have to make the final and ultimate decision as to where their true allegiance lies.
What fate lies in store for mother and son? Who are their enemies? Who are their allies? So many questions left unanswered.

How complicated. Aleph is unable to cast any type of magic and needs Hiroko and his legion of demon minions for that purpose. Yet at the same time,this gift that was bestowed upon him is quite powerful. From the description of whatever his gift may be,it sounds like some Divine Wraith. The almighty variety that by this point in their adventure the only demon capable of learning such a skill is Anubis. I cannot even to picture how much longer boss battles would have gone without this necessary skill.
That is part of the challenge when fighting the seraphs together. Each one of them have vastly different resistances and complete immunity to certain attacks and spells. Thankfully Aleph and Hiroko did not have to battle Gabriel as well. Also this was way before each one of them were given weaknesses.
How fitting of a display of pure power. The fake God destroyed all of Aleph's demons in one attack. he better have some deep pockets because reviving every single one is not going to be cheap. Unlike in the game,they were not healed and to battle him right after slaying the three seraphs.
That makes complete sense to me and why they had to battle two different Gods. Demiurge is no slouch either especially since it was the ultimate secret boss in Strange Journey and most likely Redux as well unless Atlus decided to add in some other powerful being even deadlier than Demiurge

As with Aleph and Hiroko's long and difficult journey together ahead,proposing that you follow all three paths is just as tall of a task. Each path has its owns enemies,allies, circumstances, and goals. Then of course each one of them has a degree of difficultly with Law being the easiest and Neutral being the hardest.
I never liked the Law Path in any of the mainline Shin Megami Tensei title in combination of my own personal beliefs and how it is portrayed as an empty path, demanding complete obedience,removing all emotions, and worshiping such a selfish genocidal god who would easily murder his own worshipers as with his enemies if they ever questioned his decisions.
It is a path that might have plenty of good intentions, but the execution and twisted logic behind it speaks for itself. Finally everybody else is killed off mercilessly just because of a different belief.
Chaos would be my ideal path if not for Lord Lucifer's asinine belief that only the strong should survive in this world. What good is a world filled with very strong humans and demons alike, but are lacking in intelligence,problem solving, and other attributes that are more important mere physical strength. I do support the belief behind Chaos that demons and human beings were meant to co exist together in harmony. Freedom should have its limit and too much of it is not healthy, but it a right that should never be taken for granted.
At least Chaos does not care too much if you have different outlook or opinion as long as you are able to back up your strong convictions.
Neutral is the second best option for me. To me though it feels underwhelming even it is the most idealistic path where everybody gets what they want. I also do not know for certain if angels,demons, and humanity can all co-exist in this path.
I guess because in SMT II,humanity is screwed living in a post apocalyptic world where their numbers are severely limited.
Having Kazuya being swayed towards either extreme would also drastically change the course of events to follow as well as possibly having to fight his allies. Maybe if the first SMT was its own self contained story, I might be more open to exploring the different paths available.
You really cut down significantly the tasks the game had you doing while in the underground such as seeking out all of the body parts of Lord Masakado. While unsealing and freeing the entire amastu clan was completely optional,not only was a good place to grind, but also the rewards were well worth the effort it took on going about on this task.
I wonder if you plan on Aleph and Hiroko visiting the Diamond Realm at some point in this retelling story of yours.

Churches suck and having to attend daily sermons will bore most average folks. The citizens of Valhalla have the absolutely right idea there.
Louis Cypher clearly put in the good word on Aleph's behalf but they are fated to meet up again for a very long while. What is Stephen up to? He has not been mentioned in quite some time.
It would be very traumatizing had the demon Belphagor used feces and piss as potential attacks while sitting on the proverbial throne. How would Aleph and Zayin rid themselves of that awful stench?
Hiroko has finally been freed from the tight control the Center has placed on her and the numerous citizens within the Factory. Siren was thankfully reunited with her lover Peterson. I did wonder despite Peterson being an undead spirit,how could he exist within the human world. Although come of it though, if Legacy Of Kain's Raizel can survive within the physical realm while being a wraith even if it is quite taxing on him,then it should not be too much of a stretch where a spirit such as Peterson who could exist in the human realm and more so since his loved one was forcibly taken away from him.
Nonetheless, I did accept your explanation of having Aleph's soul acting as a conduit and thus willing him into existence in the human realm.
Still, it is going to be a very long while before Hiroko's fragmented memories return and therefore, she finds out who she really is in actuality. It is going to be very awkward for these two having to depend on each other from here on out and that they are the new Kazuya and Yuka.
I did not think any angel would be willing to become a minion of Aleph, but his pure and innocent soul must have really persuaded the archangel. Will the higher class angels be just as eager to offer assistance to Aleph?
No more Valhalla which is immensely tragic. Then of course the deaths of so many people unaware of their sad fate including the people who had willingly assisted Aleph such as Okamoto & Madam
Now where did Cerberus disappeared off to? The guardian demon dog from Hades could help them out tremendously. Had Cerberus been around the time Aleph and Beth were working together, then she could have been easily revived.

But then again he did not want to waste anymore time in there and opted for the short route. Aleph managed to beat it all alone before it could use Tertrakarn. This will eventually prove to be a problem for him later on where brute strength will not work.

Will Zayin still remain loyal to the Center despite now learning the truth thanks to Mekata or will be fulfill his role as Aleph's bodyguard and assist the Messiah. I bet Lucifer would love to partner up with Daleth once he finds out what the anti-messiah plans on doing.

So Aleph suddenly became X-Men's Cyclops or something? Or was it the elders displaying just a small bit of their true powers as to ensure Aleph would remain the chosen one? Yuji had to work his ass off to master the power of miracles meanwhile Aleph had it given to him on a silver plate. I half expected to hear the ring announcer yell "Finish Him!" just like in the Mortal Kombat video games.
So much for Beth living through this retelling of yours in regards to the second SMT video game. Unlike with Kazuya though,Aleph is going to have even more of a difficult journey ahead without a female companion by his side to speak on his behalf since he cannot express himself and be understood by the outside world. He better start recruiting and fusing demons that are vastly intelligent and can speak for him. Also there are some pretty nasty demons later on that repel both physical and gun attacks.
Final Fantasy Vll's Sephorith would be utterly pleased that Daleth killed a woman from behind, intentional or not like an absolute coward.
That is a huge relief. In this case,I am glad to have been very wrong on my early assumption.
One thing is for sure,Aleph will not be dangling Lord Masakado's head around by his hips as Juliet Starling does with her boyfriend's decapitated head Nick in the video game Lollipop Chainsaw. Like as if it was jewelry or a chain.

I see that I had falsely assumed Daleth had already taken care of the situation within the Factory. With the manner Beth has been acting after having her memory wiped cleaned due to being told the truth by Hanada reminds me heavily of what happened to Robocop in Robocop 2 thanks to the vile OCP organization.
So Betelgeuse became Jigsaw via quoting by it? Sounds about right. Also the demon parody version of Stephen King's novel Christine attacking Betelgeuse just broke my brain there. What's next the parody of Michael Jackson becoming an ally?
Unfortunately for Aleph, he is beginning to learn that DARK demons cannot be recruited via normal means. Also he is discovering how unpredictable and tough negotiations with other demons can be when trying to gain new allies. Thankfully back then compared to the more modern SMT titles, there was much less punishment for not being successful at demon conversations.
Good thing though they avoided having to encounter Alice there because if you are really unlucky you can encounter her if you open a treasure chest there.
Daleth just cannot seem to cooperate with Aleph just because of his petty jealous. In that type of
hostile environment,you fight alone and you end up dying alone.

Just as soon Beth has learned the horrible truth about what the Center has done to only her but Aleph, Daleth, Gimmel, and Zayin, her memories about her meeting with Hanada will be for nothing thanks to their vile treachery. Gimmel has revealed his true colors and shown just where his allegiance lies. I wonder how in the heck did the Center managed to get blood samples from both Kazuya and Yuji. I highly doubt either man would willingly give up their blood just like that and due to Kauzya's inner six sense,deception is way out of the question. My guess is that they both got captured and were experimented on for who knows how long. Much later, the two of them were able to successfully escape. However it seems only Yuji was able to enjoy his freedom to its full capacity due to Kazuya being murdered and got caught.
I also wonder if the Center also have Yuka's DNA in their database somewhere since in order to provide Aleph a reliable female partner to usher in the Thousand Year Kingdom then why not base Beth off of her.
At least Aleph will still retain the memory of meeting up with Hanada,but as he is unable to communicate to the the outside world in any coherent manner,the Center does not really have to worry too much about Aleph spilling the beans and triggering a relapse onto Beth.
Now the question remains where do Daleth and Zayin's respective allegiance lies?
The road to good intentions is paved in the blood, sweat, and tears of those unfortunate to not meet the standard of the self-righteous people believing what they are doing is correct and the only way to accomplish things.
That is one way of jump starting the human population all over again after the flooding,nuclear bombings, and constant attacks by the demons. Not to make light of the dire circumstance humanity was facing, but incest is definitely not the answer they were looking for as that would only result in more deformed children.
True love like what Yuka and Kauzya experienced with one another cannot be replicated and created via scientific means. It is something way beyond our understanding.
Things sure did escalated quickly and in a more horrific manner than the game ever depicted.
Ah Japan. Where copyright infringement means nothing to them.
It does not look like Hiroko will be showing up anytime soon or even at all if the Center has their way.

I am already impressed so far with how you are slowly build up the relationship between Alpeh and Beth. Something the game did a very horrible job of doing. Poor Beth must be utterly beside herself that the Aleph she fell in love up is nowhere to be found,but he has not completely forgotten how much she means to him.
Although anybody who does not know him all that well would have a hard time believing that Aleph was quite gifted with words as Kazuya was. They can always make new memories together. On the bright side,it is nothing at all like the stupid romantic comedy 50 Dates.

I am already impressed so far with how you are slowly build up the relationship between Alpeh and Beth. Something the game did a very horrible job of doing. Poor Beth must be utterly beside herself that the Aleph she fell in love up is nowhere to be found,but he has not completely forgotten how much she means to him.
Although anybody who does not know him all that well would have a hard time believing that Aleph was quite gifted with words as Kazuya was. They can always make new memories together. On the bright side,it is nothing at all like the stupid romantic comedy 50 Dates.

60 years have passed since your SMT I and II novelization? Damn! Kazuya, Yuka, and Yuji will be senior citizens at this point. I would imagine that despite their age,they are in tip top form. Oh grinding. The bane of any JPRG fan. That is the huge advantage fan fictions have over video game. You can really cut down on that. I must say for Alpeh to be training at such a very high level so early really goes to show how magnificent of a job the Center did in creatign their own Messiah. They really wanted to create somebody who will surpass Kazuya in every single fighting aspect. However,whichever female partner you choose for Aleph to end up with I cannot imagine coming anywhere near Yuka's level.
The crying statue of the giant Kazuya was always an unsettling little aspect I found to be memorable. It is a shame that you no longer see it later in the game.
It is wonderful to see an old ally making his return within this story of yours. Leave it the Mesians to hold such a everlasting grudge against who choose to betray them. It makes me wonder though what do the records say that Takeshi who was on the side of the Geans.
I see what you are doing here,planting that seed there in more way than ones. Come to think of it,the game never did mention who they used as the father for Hiroko's child, but it stands to reason that the Center would only use the very best.
How many children did he and Yuka have between them? That answers the question if I can expect Yuka and Kazuya to show up here which appears to be a resounding no.
That is a major change already made by not having Hawk and Red Boar fight to the death. It will be interesting to see what role Read Boar will be playing down the line.
Impressive! Aleph has early access to two pretty powerful demons. Granted the unicorn can be created via fusion pretty early during the Holytown incident but having one during the tournament is something else. Especially since SMT II was the last game in the series where you could recruit LIGHT demons.
Do those Red Bulls Red Boar summoned have wings?
I don't think any of the modern Fallout video games ever had drugs that debilitating and such a huge blight to humanity.
Having the real Gimmel taking a more important role and being shown outside of Arcadia is also another huge change as I always thought of him as nothing more than a pompous jerk.
Thus now Aleph is to begin a brand new chapter in his life.
