I have just started reading your fiction and would like to send some encouragement your way.
Before anything, I would like to apologize for not giving your work more attention before now. As a fellow author for the fandom since 2013, I should have offered more support to the new authors coming to share their stories and talents. I was looking at your story today and was heartbroken to see that you had not received any reviews. I know how discouraging it can be to put so much effort into a work and have no recognition offered in return. I hope that this review is not too late in coming and that you will be willing to continue this story, as it is worth reading.
Though I am only a few chapters into the story, I find it rather enjoyable and I am quite fond of the way you portray Kirie in your work. While I originally came into the story for Eyes, I find myself more interested in watching her character. This is not to say that I don’t enjoy your portrayal of Eyes. I think you have taken an interesting approach to him. He is a bit more open in this story, but I feel like that difference can be attributed to growing up a bit since the end of the source material, and learning to stand by his own strength.
It is cool to watch the dynamic between the two characters and I like the sort of complicated friendship you have formed between them. However, there is one element of the story that has me baffled. While I don’t know if you explain this later, as I have only read up through chapter 4 at the time of this review, I am confused by the name that Kirie calls Eyes.
When I first saw the name I wasn’t sure what it meant and it has only continued to baffle me. I have looked through the source manga, as well as the anime and, at least by the english versions of this material, I don’t see the name Raza-kun used; neither in reference to Eyes nor with any other character. I have not been able to read Spiral Alive to completion, so it is entirely possible that this name was used in reference to him within that manga, but it seems unlikely. Is it a name you came up with for him yourself? And if so, what is the significance behind the name chosen? I love little details like that and would like to know your reason behind the name.
I hope that you will continue writing this work. I have been watching your work for several years now and was excited to see you still actively writing. If you are still interested in sharing this work with the world, I would be happy to support you in that endeavor and will commit to reading as many chapters as you are willing to provide. I hope that you won’t leave this story unfinished and will continue to share your work with me. You have created an interesting plot with wonderfully original characters that still maintain the core traits that tie them to the originals. I look forward to reading the rest of the published chapters and can’t wait for the next one to come out.
