Thank you thank you thank you! I thoroughly enjoy the whole story, especially our boys racing & paying tribute in front of the tombs of their heroes. I always consider that ceremony their wedding, the occasion when they acknowledged and celebrated their love in front of the whole army.
BTW, my suggestion for you is to spend less time worrying about politics and more time writing about our boys. Why wasting your time feeling upset about dirty politics? Use your time more constructively. LOL!

When I read this chapter I was tormented between ‘Who should win? Alexander or Hephaistion?’ Neither should beat the other and yes! I love your idea that they cross the finishing line together, as equals, as one.
Our boys’ vows in front of the tombs of their heroes almost brought me to tears. I consider that wedding vows, too bad you didn’t add ‘for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health’ LOL!
